Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I noticed something new, searching for YC/BC rooms on Disney's site. When available rooms are displayed for a resort, there is a new heading at the top of the search results, which is called "Featured Room." It looks like they are trying to promote the room type that has the greatest number of unsold rooms for the dates searched. At the very bottom of the page appears
"Other Resorts We Think You'll Enjoy," displaying other resorts which are not necessarily even the same Deluxe, Moderate, or Value resort category of your original search. It looks like they are trying to really sell resorts/rooms which have fewer bookings.

Can someone add me to the Be our Guest page? June 25-July 1 (BC). And just curious, I"m bringing dd and her bestie (both 15) and ds 12 (who is SUPER BUMMED his buddy can't come)----will anyone in our date range have a ds in the 11-12 range that may want to hang out at the pool or arcade?

Please add my very excited self to the Be Our Guest list!! My boyfriend and I will be there for my birthday from May 30th to June 4th. This is our first time ever staying at a deluxe, and Epcot is both of our favorite parks so we are super excited!

We appreciate your review! Glad your trip turned out great. I know you had concerns about noise from the baby disturbing your fellow guests, but it sounds like you found great solutions. Thank you for your consideration!

Any chance that you have photos of your room view to share, either here or by email? beachclubdee at yahoo.

Dee, I just sent 3 room view photos to your email.

The good news is that they have games IN the pool that are run by the staff and there are a lot of "unattached" kids participating in them. There is also the Beach Ball Volleyball game that is running when the supervised games are not in full swing, so there are a lot of things for guys his age to drift into. There is also the long water slide that will keep him entertained. I'd bet with all that going on he is sure to find something he would enjoy.

Hello everyone!

I am new to this board because I had originally been hoping to stay at the Poly for our upcoming trip via DVC point rentals. Based on our dates and the number of points required and available, it did not seem likely, so we moved onto our second choice, which is the Beach Club Villas.

We will be staying at the BCV Jan 1 - 6, 2018 before we head out on our 7-Day Western Caribbean Disney Cruise. I am really excited for this trip and while BCV was on our list of desirable resorts, I don't know that much about it and we hadn't planned to visit Epcot when I thought we would be staying at the Poly.

A little bit about us and our trip. DH and I have two kids who will be 7.5 (boy) and 5 (girl) when we travel. We are Canadian, so even though I have been warned that weather in Florida can be on the cool side in early January, we know that the pools will get use by our family! My kids love to swim and for those who have been on DCL, the pools are not exactly the draw, which made the pool at WDW more important. The pools at BC look great and it was one of the reasons I was excited to book it.

We have a 5-day pass that I may add a park hopper to so that we can go in and out of Epcot since it is so close, but we had really only planned one park per day. We love to eat and although TS meals take up a lot of time, we find it relaxing and a great break from the crowds and action of the parks. We don't feel like we need to do and see everything at each park because we know we will be back.

Any advice anyone can offer about BCV would be great. We have a studio and know it will be tight, but are not going to be over-packed since we need to fit everything in our cruise stateship. This means doing laundry will be a must!

Anyways, I look forward to reading the boards and hearing about your experiences.

Best,

Brandy

We find park hoppers to be essential for a BC/YC stay for the ADRs in Epcot at the very least. We hit a park in the morning, leave after lunch and hit the pool, then do showers and go out for dinner in Epcot most nights in the evening. My DS fell asleep at dinner most nights at that age so we didn't do many nights out! LOL

ADR dates are soooo close for me. Feb 19th. The new IPO hours don't start until 9 am so I may hit you up Dee for some help with our more difficult ADRs!!! Don't want to lose the drop of the 7:30 am reservation window. LOL

Since CG is temporarily moving over to Ariel's, due to refurbishment, the system is not yet set up to book ADRs after 05/14/2017. CMs are not even able to do so. Probably the best advice is to just keep checking. Maybe they have not yet figured out seating configuration or capacity at Ariel's, or perhaps they want to be sure that the construction will actually start, as scheduled. We all know how accurate they are with construction schedules at the resorts. :)

Yes that is what I am doing. Checking daily.

So excited!!! Less than 30 days, 29 to be exact, and we will be in our favorite place. I booked the Gardens of the World tour for my mom yesterday, it sounds really cool. I would do it with her but you have to be 16 and my daughter is only 10.
Maybe you could have her go to Sandcastles while you and your mom do the tour...

EDITED: Oops...never mind, I just looked at the hours and it seems it's evening only...since my kids were older when we started going to WDW, I've never used the child care, but have heard people say the kids love it. Wonder why they don't have daytime hours for parents who want to do tours....

I posted a slightly more readable copy of the February activities schedule on Page 1, Post 4.

I don't think I can make it any larger in Photobucket.

This is a direct upload, but I had to reduce the size so it would be accepted by the DIS server:

Feb 2017 upload 25.jpg

Feb 2017 blue 50.jpg

Is this better?

They're done with the bus stop refurb. When we were there in Dec. the bus stop was back to it's normal location.

:welcome: to the thread!

I don't think I have seen you posting before.

Thanks for the helpful info. (Jinx!)

:wave2:

Disney just called me and had oversold rooms at All Star Sports for this Friday. Got an upgrade to Beach Club. Woohoo!

:welcome: to the thread!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions about the resort. If you need to get familiar with the resort, take a look at Page 1, Post 1, Post 13 (FAQ) and Post 14 (Other Useful Info) for helpful overviews. I think one of those posts include information about the "Secret" Entrance/Exit that is near room 1501. And Post 6 has info about the Marketplace which is the "quick serve" dining option- not quite on par with what you find at the All Stars. Post 7 has more info on dining at the resort.

:thumbsup2

I just got a new hairspray that the smell reminds me of the beach club. Kept me happy all day! Now if someone could point me to the link to buy the home melts that smell like beach club? I am in serious disney/beach club back home blues.

What is the hairspray?

There is a section in either Post 13 or Post 14 about red-neck scent products that mimic the Beach Club smell.

Interesting! (and smart marketing)

Got 'em! Thanks so much.

Was there a daybed in either room?

Thanks & yes jinx! I did see we posted at the exact same time. I don't post often (I mostly stick to the VWL groupies thread) but I do read from time to time. I own at BCV but Yacht Club is really my favorite of the two resorts. A calmer atmosphere with all the same amenities which I really enjoy. I'll be staying YC CL from 3/10-13 if you want to add me to the BOG list.

I had my first stay at YC CL in October and loved it!

We just got back from a 1 nt stay at the Yacht Club. Since the 5th floor (Club Level) was under renovation the lounge was moved to the 2nd floor. The Cast Members told us that the renos should be finished by next week and they will be moving back to the 5th floor soon.

:welcome: to posting on this thread!

Thank you so much for the information about the YC club lounge. I hadn't heard that.
