Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

The system is being overloaded with folks booking dining for the Rivers of Light AK show...I've heard they have the calendar and dining package up, and should be getting FPs up very soon. Since some of us have been waiting not-so-patiently for a year to get bookings, there is a bit of pent up exuberance in getting these bookings.., LOL

lol I meant the Disboards not MDE

We will be staying at BC for the first time this December. So excited!!! What time does Les Halles open in the morning?

9:00 or as soon as the park opens if it's EMH in the a.m. One of the best things about staying at BC. You can be one of the first in line at Les Halles! It's not a trip to WDW for me until I have a strawberry tart & a mimosa for breakfast from LH. Don't judge. They both have fruit in them therefore they qualify as breakfast!

Can anyone confirm for me that Stone Harbor Club is open at it's currently location during renovations? I see mention of some CL rooms being worked on. Wasn't Stone Harbor completely refurbished in 2015 or 16? Can't imagine why it would need another refurbishment so soon. I emailed Disney Special Services but they haven't replied. Not loving that new email contact for club level guests. Previosly when we could email each club level direct inquiries were answered almost immediately. I don't use the concierge services for much but when I do have a question a reply would be nice. 8-)

Thanks for the heads-up! Just changed our regular Tusker House reservation to a ROL package. YAY!!! :simba:

HI everyone
It has been 2 long years since my last wdw and beach club visit. Although I did get a Disney Cruise in this year, I am very eager to get back to BC. Planning is very difficult but I and in the stalking and pondering phase! As always this thread is the best.

:wave2:

Good to see you again! I hope something pops up for you!

::yes::

Katesdad and DW will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary at the YC - GV Dec. 8 - 15 ( after a 4-night Dream cruise). Asked for gazebo view again. We'll see what happens this time around.

:welcome: back and Congratulations!!!

I'll add you to the list and keep my fingers crossed for an incredible room and view for you!

:woohoo:

Has anyone else had issues logging in recently? I keep being thrown out and having to put my password in when I go online (new laptop, which insists it is saving my passwords). Today, I've had my password refused 4 times and been on time-out! I finally got the system to send me an email to reset my password (to what it was!!!!) but it took me a while to find the email as I don't use the email I used to set up my account anymore. Finally back in and updated my email address. Sheesh the pain just to get back to chatting with you guys!!!!!

I had similar issues a few days ago with the site logging me out. I usually stay logged in all the time.

Also seeing advertisements between posts which is unusual.

I don't know if that has something to do with the recent maintenance done on the site.

:confused3

:welcome: to the thread and the resort.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

I see horselover replied about Les Halles. I'll post a link in a minute to my trip report chapter where I visit in the morning.

A page or so back, someone who had just returned from a YC CL reservation said that the lounge was temporarily relocated on the 2nd floor. I think it was due to the rooms in the area being worked on, not the lounge. And that the regular YC club lounge would be back in the original location soon.

:thumbsup2

I actually did just receive a reply. They said the work club level is scheduled to be completed within two weeks so Stone Harbor should be open in it's current location. They also of course added if there were any delays it would be relocated to another floor. Covering all their bases! I'll just keep my fingers crossed they'll be done by 3/10. I don't care so much about having to deal with room constuction in the area, but it's kind of a pain going to another floor to get a drink or a cup of coffee.

This is happening to me all the time this week! Even making sure I add stay logged in to the log in isn't helping, oh my:(

It's the Regatta Club & rooms at he Yacht Club being worked on, not the Beach Club rooms. BC was renovated in 2015. For some reason, they never started the rooms at the YC when they finished the BC. They did redo the Regatta Club lounge on the club level in 2015 tho. They are just getting started on the rooms now. A poster just back reported the lounge on club level was closed & relocated when she was there this week.

Try going in through a new private window, or clear your history. That always works for me, when I get the error message.

Hello BC/YC friends! Starting to plan for 2018 Marathon Weekend and thanks to the amazing new YC room photos on this thread, we will have no difficulty deciding on a resort this time! I love the Epcot resort area and I've caved to Poly pressure too many times already. We've stayed at BWI a lot lately and really enjoy it, but not a fan of the clown pool and the room decor is not my favorite. My husband has a BC CM nemesis and hasn't agreed to stay there since 2012 (no kidding - although I've stayed at BC with just the kids since then.) But a renovated YC will be perfect for all!

So happy to be back to learn the latest, catch up with old BC/YC friends and enjoy Ninja banter! :)

Yes you're right. I don't know why I constantly get the two names mixed up. I'll blame it on old brain. :tilt: It's either that or I wish they could put Stone Harbor Club (prefer it over Regatta) at Yacht Club (prefer it over BC). Then I'd truly be a happy girl! :D

Luckily club level services knew what I meant as they could see where I was booked. Fingers crossed club level renos will be complete in two weeks as they indicated they should be.

I am sorry to hear that your husband had issues with a CM , I know that we can all be hard headed from time to and we sometimes let it get in the way of our happiness . I have had issues with CM's myself but I also have made
friends with many of the CM's . Some of them are very close friends . I would report poor or bad behavior by a CM and never prevent me from going to a place I love . Remember that management does not know about problems unless you report them and I have found that they will go out of there way to see the issue resolved . 2012 was 5 years ago that CM may no longer work at the Beach Club anymore . I hope one day you can convince you husband to go back to a place you like so much . Hope to ear that you come back one day with your whole family . Just my 2 cents . There is no place like the Yacht and Beach Club and no darn clown pool it creeps me out .

Is there a list/map that specifically tells what standard rooms have/do not have a daybed?
Touring Plans room finder doesn't get that specific, unfortunately.

I agree with your sentiment about CMs. We had a big issue with one in 2014 and reported. Unfortunately, the manager we spoke with didn't take us seriously and in some ways, was worse than the original CM. So, we went higher, and finally got heard. It would never stop us from staying at a resort though. Also, remember, many CMs come and go quickly, and work different shifts, etc, so the chances of running into him/her would be slim. Actually...the CM who gave us the problem at BC......actually ended up checking us in at YC one week later (split stay)!
As for the clown pool....in our opinion (and we've stayed at every deluxe resort), it's the 2nd best after SAB. It's really a great pool and a thrilling slide!

Not that we're aware of. I say to request one, then when you check in, politely ask if your room has a daybed, and if it doesn't, ask if you can be moved to a room that does. If there's not one immediately available, ask if you could wait for one. Hopefully, when they sense your polite persistence, you'll prevail!

^^^ What he said ^^^

We don't really know which rooms do or do not have daybeds. We also do not know which specific rooms have 2 Queen beds and which have King beds.

We do have a detailed view map for the Beach Club which you can find on Page 1, Post 8- Beach Club rooms

Thank you. We are a family of 5 though so we will receive one no matter what though, right?

Oh, I wish my original post could convey tone! This whole thing is a bit of a family joke! My husband is not a Disney fan and jokingly grabs on to lots of things to say "never again!" So it doesn't interfere with my happiness or his. :) I entirely agree with your advice - definitely ask to speak to a supervisor at the time. That's what we did - asked to speak to a supervisor right away. The supervisor's response was more than anything we could have ever asked for or imagined - BC handled it so well it was incredible and a great example of Disney service. So overall, it actually made BC look fantastic and we were all impressed. I'm pretty sure that CM doesn't work at BC anymore, and he was certainly the exception and not the rule. All that said, it won't stop my husband from feigning dismay about something Disney related - it's way too fun for him! So if it was important to me, he'd stay at BC again. But I'm pretty flexible, and YC is something we can all get excited about!

Are all of your family members over age 3?

My understanding is that families of 5 are given priority for rooms with a daybed over families with fewer members who request one. In the rare circumstance that there are no room available with a daybed when you check-in then I believe they would need to provide a daybed for your room because they have to give you a room that everyone in your family is able to sleep in.

:cat:

If your room doesn't have a daybed, they will bring you a rollaway bed at no charge. Dee, am I correct?

I think so, unless there has been some sort of change.

::yes::
