Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

They recently updated the BC room photos on the WDW website. The funny thing is that all room photos show the now non-existent clock, but no telephone.

Who knows, maybe the phones will be the next room amenity to disappear. :confused3

I imagine that the photos were taken following completion of the refurb, but prior to availability for room occupancy.

I completely agree! We always go in November, so going in September means LOTS of pool time at one of the best pools on property! We are so excited for SAB, it looks amazing. Epcot is my favorite park, so being able to walk right over is going to be great! I love Epcot when Food & Wine is not going on.. it is more peaceful and not busy at all, so I am excited to be able to walk over when I want and just enjoy all that I can! We are planning on breakfast at Cape May Café and haven't been there in years! Just knowing we are staying there and can walk right to the restaurant and not worry about transportation is great in itself! Hurry up September! :thumbsup2
I've been to WDW in January, February, October and November over Thanksgiving into the beginning of December, so I'm interested to see what the crowds are like in September! It's sounding like it's going to be a lot less crowded than what I'm used to. Even in January and February there's been tons of tour groups or cheerleader groups so it still seemed crowded. We're doing dinner at Cape May Café because my husband looooooooves crab legs. I think he could sit there for hours eating them lol! But I was tossing around the idea of breakfast there as well since it's right there. I was looking for reviews but couldn't find any recent ones. I'm also holding out hope that there's a MNSSHP while we're there! I know some think it's ridiculous to have it that early but if we miss it by a few days I'll be pretty bummed. We went last year and loved it! I agree, hurry up September!!!

Sorry to be re-posting my own post from p.394, but since no one replied, I thought I'd give it another go.
TIA!

I just wanted to say thanks for being patient with your question. :love1: I personally am DVC brain dead, having no understanding or experience with it, so I was unable to help. If you are persistent, eventually someone will come along and answer your question, especially if it was missed and you continue to ask about it. It's a team effort here on the BC/YC thread!

Here is a complimentary emoticon of a Devil roasting a Smiley as a reward for your understanding and good thread stewardship:

If you can find some chocolate and a graham cracker, together with this image, you've got the fixins for a delicious smore!

Thanks, ninja mom! Love the emoticon. :)

If you are coming from DHS then walk into the BC lobby and then exit out the main doors toward the parking lot. Walk along the right hand side of the BC resort and you will see the Salorium on your right. The entrance to the afternoon tea is at the gazebo entrance which you will find as you walk past the Solarium. I would guess that there are signs posted there.
THANK YOU!!! I've saved these directions to my phone. Thanks MickeyT too for replying.

Do any of the standard rooms have King beds, or is everything 2 queens unless you get a suite?

Some of the Standard rooms have kings. Not sure how many exactly. But they are by request only, there's no way to book a king room unless you are staying at a Moderate.

Phew - glad I wasn't missing something in the booking!

Hey all,

During our trip in April we have a "night out" planned to Disney Springs where our MIL watches the kids at the hotel (we're at the "Beach" side). Since we have the whole afternoon "off" planned, we already are planning on doing a Hurricane Hanna's lunch while we all hang by the pool, and the Marketplace options for dinner don't really appeal to the kiddos.

What's the best "take out" option for dinner in Boardwalk area (if any) that we could set up my MIL, our 9 yr old son and 2 year old daughter with prior to us taking off for the evening? Does ESPN do take-out (and as someone who has walked by ESPN probably hundreds of times in my life but never actually ate in there, would it be worth it?)

Thanks!

Room service or resort pizza delivery (not the flyers slipped under the doors I have heard the are scams.)

Bluecastle you can still make Magical Express reservations. Your friend can make them for you.

You get a reservation number and can immediately add it to My Disney Experience to book fast passes and dining reservations and get Magic Bands.

You can pay to get additional cleaning done. Bring your own coffee and filters. They are not refilled daily or just buy a can of coffee at the marketplace.

Extra towels I would just ask the house keepers at their carts. Or from SAB without paying extra.

Hope this helps answer your questions.

It does. Thanks!

I can vouch for the room service. Delicious food and plenty of choice even if you have to wait a little :)

It's ADR day. The plan has been scrutinised and tweaked, now I must wait patiently for 12 noon (UK time) to start screaming at the system.

Good luck :)

ADR day for us too - just to wait 17 more minutes! I'm sure that the system will crash and we will end up calling at 7am but fingers crossed!

Quick question - we are booked SV and saw that we could request a king bed - do they have day beds in the king bed rooms or are they occupancy of 2? There will be just 3 of us and DD5 loves the daybeds - and we would LOVE a king! But I don't want to put it in as a request if it really couldn't happen! That would be a waste of a request!

If I am recalling correctly, some of the King Bed rooms have a daybed and some may just have an extra chair and ottoman. But I don't think the room assigners would (or can) put you into a room that does not have proper bedding for everyone on the reservation. In any case, you may want to word your request "King bed room with daybed, if possible"

:goodvibes:

My ADR date could not be worse timing for me. It is my son's graduation AND we are leaving from Atlanta for DCL right after his graduation! :faint: (The timing of the cruise was somewhat out of my hands.) Oh! And after the cruise, we will be back home for one day and then will be leaving to go to Springfield, MO for a week-long debate tournament. I get stressed out every time I think about it!

I know it will work out, but it's just one more thing to add to what I know will be an overwhelming weekend - or overwhelming month!!!
