So, room location requests…
I'm not sure what to put. We're looking into staying 10 nights in September in a courtyard room. We have previously stayed in 4125 (I think that was the floor number) and it was the perfect location for us! I would love to stay in that room again, but I understand that's a hard thing to request. In the picture (stolen from the first page of this thread) basically anything ending in 035-041, 067-079, 125-129 is what we want. We want to be able to see the lake from our room and be close to elevators. What's the best wording and way to request these?

this is the same type of courtyard room we are hoping to get. I used the "room view" tool on the touring plans website, and their recommendation for that view is to request a northeast facing room, so that's what we had added to our reservation.

I'm placing my trust in touring plans for this one. They were accurate in the wording for our trip last year when we booked woods view, so hopefully it works out in our favor this year too I never use them for actual touring plans, but I love the room view option!

We'll also pick 5th floor and near an elevator when it comes time for online check in.

Hi everyone! I have a quick question. We are booked for 5 adults in a VWL Studio. We know it'll be tight but after going through some stuff on here, I'm worried it might be too tight and an actual adult (as opposed to a Disney adult) won't be able to fit on the murphy bed. Any experience with this? We don't have an issue with being on top of each other, I'm just worried about having 5 people and someone can't comfortably sleep on the murphy! Any help would be appreciated!

Speaking of views... does anyone know if we have a chance of getting a club level bunk bed room with a courtyard view? I requested bunk beds above all else so I'm fine if we get a different view (a teen and tween are not going to sleep in the same bed) just curious as to what our chances are (of either).

Booked a woods view for the end of May. Stayed here back in November and had a view of the bus depot, but also the fireworks shows in the distance. Love this resort and can't wait to experience it without all of the scaffolding and construction going on.

It may be just sleep deprivation from a cold and a toddler but could someone please help me figure out how to find the room of my dreams for our upcoming stay at VWL? We will be in a studio and I would like to have a balcony and if possible a view of the lake or woods. I'd prefer no view of dumpsters or porta-potties Do I need to be careful to not request a lock off? How do I know which studios don't have balconies? I'm looking at the touring plans room tool but it's just making my head hurt and any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I would word your request as "balcony, with view of lake or woods"

Thanks! So I don't need to be more specific? Like what direction to face etc? Touringplans got me all excited with their fax request option but then when I realized I had to make a very detailed selection I became overwhelmed!

I don't believe you need to be more specific than that. If you want a balcony and to face the woods or lake, then that's what your request should say. The room assigners know their resorts like the back of their hand. I have had conversations with 2 of them in the past and they both said they much prefer when guests describe what they want. There may be more than one area/section that will give a guest what they want. If a guest requests a certain area/section and it's not available, the room assigner has no idea why they wanted that section. The assigners also both said it makes them very happy to be able to grant a guests requests.

The pack n play should fit in the space between the closet and the dresser. If the room had a connecting door then it would be in front of it. The room will be smaller than a GF room but the price is better.

I am an owner at VWL and I wouldn't put five full sized adults in a studio. The murphy bed isn't quite twin sized, a bit shorter and narrower, but not quite as small as the POR murphy bed. The studios were really only meant for maybe two adults and two kids, now three with a smaller third kid. You have one queen bed, a double sleeper sofa and the murphy bed.

About two years ago, we had a two bedroom villa with five adults and it was comfortable.

Ok here's my latest conundrum! If you had to choose a studio at VWL vs a woods view room at WL which would you choose for two adults and an infant? Assume price was very close.

King bed, non-handicap accessible, 4th floor, inner courtyard. I am already booked in Courtyard View so I am wondering if we can note a specific room number on your reservation? Thanks!

You will have a much better shot at getting what you are looking for if you word your request just like you did here. If you ask for a specific room, the room assigner doesn't know why you requested that room and you may end up with the complete opposite of what you want. There is more than 1 room that will get you what you want. There is only 1 chance to get a specific room number, but multiple chances to get the type of room you want.

Thank you! I will do just that and have my TA make a note of what I am looking for on my reservation. I am used to staying at POFQ/POR where I really only book standard or garden view and call it a day and make no requests, except maybe a building location. This is my first time staying at WL and the resort has a lot less rooms than the moderates, so just want to be sure I know what location would be best for me. Thanks again!

The woods view room at WL would have two queen beds and is a little nicer than a studio at VWL - but - the studio would give you a microwave and toaster plus more floor space for a pack n play. The studio has one queen bed and a sofa sleeper. If you like the idea of having the extra kitchen appliances and more floor space then go with the studio. If you would rather have two queen beds and have a room that is closer to the restaurants then choose the woods view room.

I keep reading on TripAdvisor how uncomfortable the beds are at WL. Is this true? We upgraded from CSR (for which the bed reviews are GREAT), and now I am worried. I have back issues due to an autoimmune disease, and a good bed is key for me...wondering if I made a mistake switching! Thoughts??
