Disney's Wedding Gift to you

Just wondered if anyone actually wears them or they just have them as a keepsake? Our watches have never been out of the box. Oh and I have also kept the Cinderella Coach bag too, it's coming to Canada with me;)

We actually have an appointment with the jeweler tomorrow to have ours adjusted so we can wear them on our anniversary trip next month. :goodvibes

It seems silly to leave them in the box forever, and I do see them on eBay fairly often, so I'm not going to be selling them for any outrageous sum anytime soon! :rotfl:

Just so everyone knows any jewelry shop in Disney will adjust the watches for free....Funny we had our adjusted but never wore them

That's good to know!! We didn't take them out of the box until we got home and realized they needed adjustment too late... I will bring them with us when we go again in January! :)

I have not taken mine out yet...I never wear watches. So I just keep them in the box.

They were a complete surprise to us and my expression when our coordinator gave us the book/box was captured by our photographer. It was pretty funny!

We wear them when we go to Disney and that is the only time we wear them. But, we live close and go to Disney about once a month, so it's fairly often. DH never wears a watch but he is the one who suggested we wear them whenever we go to Disney and I think it's fun. We had to have the jeweler take a lot of links out though! I wish I'd known the Disney jeweler would have done it but our jeweler only charged us like $10.

I love the Cinderella bag too! I keep it on my bookcase in my craft room. It's such a pretty bag and I keep my bow bouquet from my shower in it so it has all these pretty colors of ribbons peeking out the top ;)

We got the same watches in 2000 at Disneyland...the ones that came as if they were in a Fairytale Book.

We wear ours all the time.

ETA: They are the same ones on eBay right now. Cool.

I do not wear fine jewelry or dress watches, so when I found out about the gift, I was all ready to sell them on eBay. But then we got them, and I saw them... I couldn't do it! I went soft! :rotfl: We're going to try to get them adjusted on our trip to WDW in September, and then I am going to try to find some place - any place! - to wear them.

I'm a newbie here. It looks like Disney is pretty nice with gifts for the couple? I do know about the passes we are getting.

Did anyone know about the upgrades they were getting before hand?

Just a caution -- when I didn't see the annual passes listed in our contract and asked about them, I was told they were a gift from DFTW and there was no guarantee that they'd always be given and that is why they weren't listed in the contract. I think it must be the same with the other "gift".

I like how they call the APs a gift although the prices went up by what, $1000 from last year? ;)

We got the watches and APs at our Jan '08 custom wedding. Our planner gave us the watches at the rehearsal :)

Yeah I thought they did last year too...

Maybe your planner forgot to give them to you :(

My planner forgot and I called her assistant and hinted around about them. A lot of times the planners forget to take them, so they're no reason to be ashamed to ask about it. We got them in the mail a month after the wedding :goodvibes

I just took mine to a regular jewelry and they were able to take out the extra links for me :thumbsup2I wasn't charge anything although, some other people on here mentioned they had to pay.

Strange. We got them in January 2007 (Intimate Vow Renewal).

Hi Mary- Glad to see you on the Disboards...We are faithful readers of your website...

We also got the watches while on the Wonder for our DVR in 2006. The storybook they came in is displayed among our renewal items in a large curio cabinet in our LR.
