Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Depends on how far your room is from the food court. POP is a big resort. Some buildings are a bit far to make a coffee run.
I love my early morning walks...sometimes even before coffee is available. Often just my mom and I go as my DD sleeps and my stepdad sleeps.....we have adjoining rooms. Great time to just chat and get ready for the day.

I am the one who skips out early in the morning. It is my favorite time of day when I am in Disney. My DH tends to join us every couple years, so I travel with the rest of my family, and they are not the early riser I am. I love to walk on the freshly washed sidewalks and just enjoy the sunrise. It is lovely. It is the time of day when there are few peole walking about, and is a nice time for me to sit with coffee, call my DH to see how things are at home, and just reflect on how nice the trip has been.

Exactly what I do....used to get up at 4:30.... I now make it closer to 6. Haha. But it's a great time in the morning.

I love it if I can sleep til six, even on vacation. That's why I need to have things left handy so I do nto wake everyone up as I scoot out the door. I sure do like early mornings!

I wake early no matter what. 6 is sleeping in. I sleep next to the door just for that reason. Haha

On our last trip I had to fly nearby on business and get a rental car. On the way to Pop I stopped at Walmart and picked up a $12 coffee maker and $7 toaster to use for the week. Family flew in to meet up. We left them in the room for someone else to use as they were too big to fit in luggage. Who knows if mousekeeping tossed them or not.

Someone needs to setup a coffee maker, toaster swap like they had going for years for fridges at POP!
Our last trip to Pop was only 3 days pre-cruise so we made do with breakfast bars and coffee, but next time I am picking up a cheap toaster as that will really increase our breakfast options. I figure we will bring some bagels and cream cheese as well as bread and peanut butter.

Can anyone tell me about Bell Services at Pop? Do they handle all of your luggage?
Bell Services at the Values is called Luggage Assistance and they will help you as little or as much as you like with your luggage.

Remember,if using Disney's Magical Express, luggage will be delivered directly to the room.

"In my experience"FWIW,Luggage Assistance is not "open" 24/7-"in my experience" FWIW they "close" around 11:00 PM amd "open" around 7:00 AM.

I am not sure that you can have a toaster in your room. Check before you go in order to be sure that you are not surprised when you get there.

Thanks. I know it probably sounds trivial, but I keep going back and forth on if I should use DCL transfers to the port or rent a car or use a car service. We will have 5 bags and I can't deal with them alone. I rented a car our last day at Poly to head to south Florida, and the front desk sent someone in a golf cart to come pick us (and our luggage) up at the room. It was perfect.

I'm pretty sure toasters are not allowed in any rooms that aren't DVC. I'm sure folks do this sometimes, but it could set off the smoke alarm.

Early at Pop (or any resort) is my favorite -- great time to take Pop Century photos when few people are around. I look forward to the morning coffee run.

We do not do food court breakfast, prefer to eat when getting ready. When we stayed at Pop I brought our own coffee maker, coffee and filters, mugs and creamer. On this trip we bought donuts at the gift shop (I know, not healthy!) and that was our breakfast. On other trips we have bought bags of bagels in the gift shop, or brought our own cereal and bought milk to keep in the fridge along with fruit. But if you do this then you also need to bring or buy paper bowls, utensils, napkins, etc.

My husband while not a daily coffee drinker, does actually like the coffee at the resort. He also is partial to my favorite, the hot chocolate :coffee: He likes to add a little of the cream to the hot chocolate. He normally does a early morning run to the food court when it opens to fill up our mugs while I am showering. He loves the early mornings too. Sometimes at the house we joke and he says, "I'm going to go down to the food court and fill up our mugs." :teeth:

I remember they sell individual beer/wine bottles at the food court but do they sell bottles of alcohol in the gift shop like at the moderates?

Yes,the "Liquor Cabinet" is in Everything Pop merchandise shop behind the "check out counter" to the left when leaving the merchandise shop and entering Everything Pop food court.:)

Hi everyone,

Just booked a room at Pop for end of November. I'm so excited, it's going to be my first trip to WDW :yay:
I'm going to ask for a lakeview room in 60's buildings. As an alternative, I'm thinking 70's or 50's. Is one better than the other (in terms of walk to bus stop and food court, distance to AoA, noise level)?
