I know others have posted that Pop now has 'hair dryers in a bag' as oppose to the wall mounts. Does this mean there is a 'hairdryer in a bag' in every room, or are they only available on a request basis through housekeeping? Thanks!

Every room.

We had one in our room in Dec.

Someone had mentioned they no longer have the King Cupcake in the food court? Can someone confirm this as we really want to have one this fall and I'd rather know now if it's gone! (I'm still getting used to the idea of no stuffed pretzels anymore on WDW property )

Hi all,

This is my first trip to WDW ...SO EXCITED!!! (been to DLP and DLC several times before) We are staying at Pop Century for our first trip and I am a bit nervous about staying here and am worried I will be disappointed as have always stayed at Disney Resort Hotels that have been much closer... Any suggestions or advice about this hotel and what to expect would be appreciated. Also do you still feel like you are in the Disney bubble when you stay here?

Thanks!!

I think the info on the location of the nearest Publix is out of date. The store on S. International Drive closed up a while ago. So far as I know, the Publix closest to Pop is the new(ish) one at the Water Tower Shoppes in Celebration. It's on the south side of 192, between I-4 and the GreeneWay. I expect to stop in there near the beginning of my late August trip, which will mark my first stay at Pop in nearly a decade.

That Celebration Publix is the one we use when staying at Pop Century.

Is anyone staying at Pop in August with a check out date of 8/22 or earlier that is planning to leave a coffee maker behind? If so, would Pop allow it to be left for an incoming guest? I won't be able to bring one with me and would love to make a deal.

Sorry, I'm not there in August, but I can tell you that you can leave something for another guest. In November, I had water bottles i wasn't going to be able to use so I offered them to a friend also staying at POP. I took them to luggage assistance. Since I had the last name of the guest, they were actually going to deliver them to their room!

Wow, thanks for your insight. I'd love to see a map if there is one floating around. I am going in late October. When I first booked, preferred was the only thing available so I took that, but now standard is available so I'm trying to decide if preferred is worth the extra money.

Just google Disney's Pop Century Resort Maps

How many free outlets are available in the rooms at POP? I'm assuming packing a power strip will be a good idea to charge electronics/cell phones...but just want to make sure before taking up packing space if it isn't needed.

Besides the bathroom outlet, there is one plug behind the night stand between the two double beds and now that they removed the alarm clocks in the rooms, that frees up the outlet. There is one available under the table and there is another on the wall between the bed and the bathroom. If you don't need to have someone on that side of the bed you can put the ironing board up and use that as a table for plugged in items so you don't have to put them on the floor.

I know there is a microwave in the food court for all to use but I thought I remember reading where a guest requested a microwave for their room at POP. Anyone know if this is true?
