Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Any suggestions for getting to Trattoria Al Forno for breakfast at the start of an Epcot day? We will have our own car. No specific breakfast time yet but would most likely be before park opening, so can't just walk thru the park.
-Drive to Boardwalk parking lot then drive to Epcot lot? (seems like a hassle, I'm also assuming staying parked in BW lot all day is not allowed) OR
-Monorail to MK then bus to Boardwalk (are you typically able to do so before park opening??) OR
-Other

I know uber/rideshare is an option but with paying for resort parking already, not really interested in doing that.
How long before they would be "kicking" you out of the BW lot after a TAF breakfast? If it's a somewhat generous time, could consider going into Epcot for a bit before coming back to get the car for a mid-day resort/pool break?
Thanks!

Guests dining at a resort are allowed 3 hours of parking.

How aggressively that is enforced varies from time to time and resort to resort, but I would not park at BWV and then go to Epcot for the day.

As annoying as it is, in your position I would re-park at Epcot after breakfast.

Your MK to BWI bus option would work depending on the time of your breakfast.

You can leave your car at BWI if you Valet, but at $33 it’s not very cost effective.

Ride share would be your easiest option, but understand it’s not high on your list.

I'd suggest bus to Hollywood Studios (9am open time, so bus running by 8am) then walk or Friendship Boat to Boardwalk.

May I ask, for those that have been recently, can you go in and order food at Capt. Cook’s or do you have to mobile order? My kids want to go for breakfast one or two mornings and I just want to be prepared. Thanks!

As of two weeks ago, you could also order in person, though they aren't running all registers.

It's really necessary for people with special dietary needs; as much as they are pushing it, I can't imagine they can completely do away with in-person ordering until they REALLY up their mobile ordering experience.

Thanks for your reply. 🙂 I assumed as much, but just didn’t want to get there and they tell me I needed to order ahead. Hope you had a great trip!

You can. Our kids did that while we had an adult dinner date.

Has anyone stayed in the newly refurbished Moana rooms? If so, what did you think? I loved staying here in Sept 2018 for the theming and location but found the beds super uncomfortable and thought the room was a bit dark and dingy for a Deluxe lol. I currently have a reservation at CSR for November 2022 but am considering upgrading to the Poly for the convenience of the monorail 😬

Loved the new rooms! Cute but not cutesy. So many fun patterns and colors but it all works together. So much storage and so many light fixtures for lots of lighting option. A huge, huge improvement over the dark beat-up rooms from prior to the refurbishment. The monorail station wasn’t finished but it’s looking great and should be running for your dates. And of course the resort is as beautiful as ever.

The new mattresses and bedding are the same as GF if you’ve stayed there. We like them so much we’ve bought the mattresses for our guest rooms and the pillows for several of our beds.

Hope you enjoy your trip whenever you settle on staying!

Is that from the Tambu Lounge? All the times I've been to the Polynesian I always do Kona Cafe, but that food looks great.

Just got back today from staying in a new room. Thought they were beautiful. Decor was bright and they had great lighting. The bed was super comfortable, but it was high. If my 85 year old mother had been with me, we would have needed a step stool for her to get in and out of bed. That is the closest thing I have to a complaint about our entire stay. we had an awesome trip.

the beds were comfortable! Can you tell me the info on the mattress and where you bought them?
