For those of you with recent stays at the Poly:

1) How were the crowds for fireworks on the beach?
2) How were the crowds at the Oasis and Lava Pools? Cabanas are sold out for our stay next weekend and I'm hoping getting chairs with umbrellas is not an issue.
3) I purposely did not put in any requests for my room, as getting into my room quickly is my top priority (arriving by 8am). How did check-in go with your arrival time?

We just returned last Saturday and found the beach had plenty of spots for watching fireworks.

We only went to the lava pool once but saw available chairs at that time. We spent most of our time at the oasis and saw available chairs most days, at leasr a few. We were there generally up until around 3p.

Our room was ready by 1 but we checked in opening day for the resort side.

Have a great stay! I wish I was back there already!

We are here now and our only complaint is the Poly buses. The waits are so long for some parks that by the time they come a giant crowd has formed and not everyone can even get on. We have never had this issue at another deluxe.

I just wanted to add that while it is unfortunate that this is an issue, it most definitely is an issue at other deluxe resorts. I have stayed at many since reopening and have found this to be an issue at all of them (YC, BC, CR, and at Riviera which is technically not deluxe but still it could have some waits at certain times of days). We also had one mega wait at WL when we went there to eat in June and decided to hop to a park after, we went to the bus stop and someone said they had been waiting for the bus for 45 minutes and there were at least 2 buses worth of people waiting. We ended up hoping on a boat to MK and getting a bus to the park there instead. There just aren't enough buses or drivers, they've increased capacity, and Poly now has both DVC and hotel side rooms open so capacity is up at the resort. Put this with more need for buses with the monorail station being down and it's a recipe for frustration for sure, but it is an issue across most resorts at the moment unfortunately.

So did your room have batteries in the remote? We had to call to get some as they hadn’t put them in yet. Then we had to call again because the remotes have tiny little screws holding the battery door on (I guess to prevent people from easily stealing batteries?). We laughed at the situation.

Luckily we did have batteries. It was nice having a brand spanking new room wasn’t it?

Yeah, I think that’s why I liked the rooms so much. High from the off-gassing of new construction materials, glues, and paint. ‍

Here now.
1. Watched fireworks the electric water parade from the beach last night. Wasn’t too crowded when we arrived at about 8:45 and we snagged 2 chairs. All the chairs were gone as the parade finished, so folks were standing but didn’t seem horribly crowded. Music was awesome on the beach.
2. At Oasis Pool as I type this. Do t see any chairs with umbrellas available, but lots of seating at tables by the bar.
3. We arrived at 8am yesterday & staying hotel side. I put in no requests. Our room was ready by 11am, but never got notification. I found out by checking MDE app.

Pic doesn’t look very appealing, but the best pool bar lunch salad on property (the Oasis Salad with chicken) is back, thank goodness!

If I spend the night on a Tuesday can I take advantage of the extended hours on my check out day, Wednesday? Basically in the past you were able to use the resorts amenities until midnight on check out day. Would this count?

• Fuji — All rooms facing East to the marina
• All of Somoa — faces Lava Pool to the West; Oasis Pool to the East
• Rarotonga — 2nd and 3rd floor facing Oasis Pool to the North
• Niue — only two rooms of 2nd floor facing north east to Oasis Pool

Hi! Nice post! I have a question about the new deluxe after hours. Disney says Wednesday will be after hours for MK. If I spend the night on a Tuesday can I take advantage of the extended hours on my check out day, Wednesday? Basically in the past you were able to use the resorts amenities until midnight on check out day. Would this count?

May want to ask over on the Theme Park Attractions & Strategies Board just to be sure, but I believe that’s the way EMHs worked in the past - you could use them on your full check in and check out date.

I am so excited! I was just able to book the Poly for Sept. 30 through October 4!! Already had MK reservations for Oct 1 so this is so perfect for my daughter and me! Just had to share!
