Someone on here a couple pages back posted a picture of green paper wristbands that were left in all the Poly rooms. So if you are staying there you get this wristband to show you are a guest and are allowed there.
Great idea, hope that it is enforced! Poly villa rooms get these also?

If that was for me, we are CL
So Hawaii
Our room is next door to the lounge so I guess that's good

Yes sorry, not sure why it didn't add the quote!

That's cool, i'd be interested to know if the CL is worth it over the standard rooms etc... ;o)

Yes, yes, yes. I've stayed at all four Magic Kingdom resorts, and the Poly was by far my favorite. Even though the Contemporary was more convenient and the Grand Floridian was more relaxing, the Poly had by far the most fun theming, my favorite dining options, my favorite pool, and something that I think should be more widely discussed: the friendliest CMs. You'll adore it!
Thabks for the reply. My sister stayed at grand Floridian a couple years back and told me the transportation was terrible. She said it took her 45 minutes to get back from MK to the resort one night. She almost wished she stayed at a non monorail resort because of it. I hope that’s not the case in September when it’s slower.
Also, now that they check bags and do the metal detector at the resorts, can you walk right into magic kingdom and Epcot if you already went through it once at poly or do they make you go through it again?

Bus transportation at the monorail resorts has admittedly never been the best, but I'd wager that staying at the Poly where you have two modes of transportation to and from MK, a bus and a boat, would be better than staying at a non-monorail resort. You should be fine in September. I think 35 was the max amount of time it took me to get back to the Poly on the busiest night at MK last August.

So going to MK, yes, you only need to go through security once-- at the Poly. It saves you so much time. Going to and from Epcot you will have to go through security twice. With Epcot, you go through security once when you either a) get on the monorail at the Poly, or b) walk up to the security checkpoint entering TTC if you decide to walk (it's a quick walk from the Poly to the TTC). Then you have go through security again once you actually arrive at Epcot.

Anyone get stuck in the rain tonight?! We saw the skies getting dark in MK (we were over by Dumbo) and literally started running as fast as we could for the exit! Made it to the monorail just fine. Stepped off the monorail out front of Poly and the skies literally opened up! Got stuck in the Ceremonial House for a little bit, but we ended up making a run for it. The puddles are bad here! LOL Fireworks went off as scheduled and we got to see them one more time before we leave tomorrow!! So sad. :guilty:

Is there anywhere where you can buy a case of water at the resort? Or am I better off having it delivered by an outside vendor?

Had no idea you can walk to TTC from poly. Would you say the walk from the last longhouse to actually standing waiting for the monorail is the same distance as walking from MK to CR?

I'm assuming since there are villas there that they do offer cases of water but if you have amazon prime, the 2 hour service is the best you can get. We used it 3 times in our week vacation at AKL last year. Kept needing more diapers and milk for our baby and they were usually there in an hour.

Does anyone know what type of coffee pots are in the Poly DVC studios? Are they the round pods or a typical filter? We just booked our first stay at the Poly for next May and I’m super excited! Coffee is very important to my happiness on vacation though haha!

They are standard coffee pots, flat bottom filter. They give you a couple of the Joffrey’s Coffee in the pre-packaged filter. Enjoy!!

We got stuck walking one day from TTC because the monorail broke down on the way back from MK. Walk wasn’t bad at all, I think closer than MK to CR (we were in the DVC section).

Wow! I didn’t even know this was an option, looks like they have a lot of items (even adult beverages!). Thank you for the recommendation.

If anyone knows if they sell cases of water somewhere in the resort and the price, that would be very helpful, thank you!

Is there an additional delivery charge using Amazon Prime? Thanks!

I know your pain of missing it! It will be 5 years for us. 27 more days but who’s counting?! Our oldest is entering her senior year so lots of money will be going out for that. And she wants her senior picture to be in front of the castle...wish me luck! I was t going to bring my good camera.

Have a safe drive from CT, we are flying when we go, early, early much to the dissatisfaction of my kids and dh. The flight time changed twice and I am much happier with the 7:05 am departure and the return changed too and is a slight bit later at 8:55pm-gives me more pool time at staring at the castle.

I recommend taking a tripod if possible and taking multiple shots of the same scene. Then, you can use tools such as Photoshop Elements or Gimp to merge the photos together and edit out the people. I've done that multiple times at crowded places.

Just an idea...

Just to piggyback off this question, as I dive deeper into looking into the Prime Now option, does the resort charge a fee? Do you need to meet the delivery worker in person? Just thinking of logistics and fees...

Thank you for any insight.
