Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

I understand how you feel. The last time we went on vacation anywhere was in 2015. DD graduated high school in 2016 and between all of the expensive senior activities, prom, grad party, etc., plus upcoming college tuition, we had to take a break from vacationing. Then we had to replace my vehicle, then DD's vehicle. Finally this year we could afford to return to WDW, this time to the Polynesian. I had three years of yearning to be in WDW. In 13 days, we will be making that long drive from CT, and I can't wait!

I know your pain of missing it! It will be 5 years for us. 27 more days but who’s counting?! Our oldest is entering her senior year so lots of money will be going out for that. And she wants her senior picture to be in front of the castle...wish me luck! I was t going to bring my good camera.

Have a safe drive from CT, we are flying when we go, early, early much to the dissatisfaction of my kids and dh. The flight time changed twice and I am much happier with the 7:05 am departure and the return changed too and is a slight bit later at 8:55pm-gives me more pool time at staring at the castle.

I’ve had the good fortune to be able to enjoy Poly last year and this year for 7/4 as well as NYE this past year. I have a few (arguably) small gripes with the way management runs these special days around the resort, but that aside, they are (in my humble opinion) very special and very fun times to be at WDW and Poly has provided the backdrop for some wonderful memories. As much as I’d selfishly like to tell people to stay away - it’s overall a great time to stay at Poly.

I understand what you mean about how things are run and aside from a few small changes Id make if I were management (ha ha) it was very nice. Magic Kingdom on July 3rd however was a complete mess!!!!

BC and WL still have an arcade. CR’s was recently converted to the Pixar Play Zone, which will be the only kids club open after 7/31.

CR’s was recently converted to the Pixar Play Zone, which will be the only kids club open after 7/31.

And Pixar Play Zone is only a pilot project for now. The immersive Pixar Play Zone experience costs $65 plus tax per child. Availability is limited and reservations are strongly recommended, by calling 407-824- KIDS (5437).

Was everyone happy with choosing poly? For those that have stayed at other deluxes, how does it compare?
We are going for my 40th and it will also be our 15 year anniversary and staying at poly has been on my bucket list so we booked it for September 2019. But now that I can stay anywhere I want I’m started to rethink and want to make sure it’s the best choice!

Yes, yes, yes. I've stayed at all four Magic Kingdom resorts, and the Poly was by far my favorite. Even though the Contemporary was more convenient and the Grand Floridian was more relaxing, the Poly had by far the most fun theming, my favorite dining options, my favorite pool, and something that I think should be more widely discussed: the friendliest CMs. You'll adore it!

The Poly is good and for those with kids would be the all around 'best' hotel. We found some of the long house rooms a little dated and old, but the theming is great and we love the central lobby and the family appeal. We split stay almost everytime we go and we always choose some time here and, as you, we can stay anywhere we like (within reason). The kids love the little grass area to play and run around, they love the pool and as stated, the entire family love the main lobby building and all its cool little attractions.

You will not be disappointed with the overall package at the Poly at all, so no second thoughts needed! Besides, Trader Sam's is a must for an adult only experience! ;o)
