Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Honestly...probably not. I tried this same thing for this year and nothing was available. I would assume that Poly studios are some of the more sought after and you need to book at 11month timeframe.
I was able to rent a Poly studio for this Sept in late Oct 2017

In the lower demand season for DVC, Poly is generally available at 7 months. The lower demand season is from late January until roughly Labor Day. In fall, home resort is almost universally required. For runDisney weekends, it is generally helpful.

Because the Poly sold points against the bungalows that most owners use to book studios, home resort demand is a little unbalanced. There are more points seeking to book studios than studios to book on points.

I am sure this is listed somewhere within these 669 pages, but...
Are there any teen activities at the Poly? (scavenger hunts, tie dye shirts, etc.)
We will be there in September- our first time! We are sooo excited!!!

As a guest of a DVC member (Rented points) can I go to Top of the World (forgive me if its not the right name) and watch the fireworks or do you have to be the actual member?

The actual member. You have to show the DVC membership card.

I booked 3 nights DVC Rental in October but it is Sunday through Wednesday. I am glad I lucked out as it is a dream of ours to stay at the Poly.

I rented points for a 4 night stay in October. I have never heard anything about a minimum stay, even at busier times.

The Poly is amazing, you will love it! I can't help with activities, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

When taking ME to poly and using online check in, how do guests get lei’s? Do they hand them out after exiting the bus? Or, do they just not hand them out? I don’t think I’d be comfortable asking for one.

Anyone know what time the pools close at the Poly? Hoping to use the pool our first night. We're heading down in 9 days! :stitch2:

They literally have racks of them hanging behind the check-in and concierge counters, so do NOT be uncomfortable because guests do it ALL the time!!! Just walk up to a free CM and ask!!!!!

Looking to rent points from a friend for the first week in May of 2019. The Poly is not his home resort. Do I have a chance for availability at 7 months out?

It really depends on whether or not they get online right when the window opens. I had no problem getting mine at 7 months but it was first week of June. If it's a friend then they are probably more likely to help and get up early. I can't imagine May would be a lot different but there could be days where the availability is spotty. There are a ton of studios so waitlisting should be successful as well, but typically with unfamiliar people owners like me probably wouldn't bother. But for a friend/family member we would.

Rented points are different than Disney Reservation Center. An owner can go in and book however many single nights they want at whatever available resort assuming they have the points to spend. The disney reservation inventory is separate and can be subject to different policy.

Does anyone know if a bed rail will work with the pull-down bed in a studio? TIA!
I don't know for sure but I don't see why not. We have used the bed rails and I believe they slip under the mattress. The only issue may be the mattress is not as heavy or thick as a regular bed to keep it in place. I am sure housekeeping van help you set it up. they are good like that.

How old is the child sleeping in the bed? It is really close to the ground so if falling off is an issue maybe you could also ask for some more pillows to put on the floor just in case! Maybe wouldn't work for a child under three but anything over would most likely be fine.
