I would go to the front desk and speak to someone there. When you call the front desk you are getting a call center. If you open the cabinet in the kitchen there should be a list of extra services.

You only get daily housekeeping if you book with cash through Disney or purchase extra housekeeping. With a DVC booking, you get one service a week.

Called front desk, then went down then housekeeping called all telling me the same thing, i just had to keep explaining that I was paying cash and not a DVC member.

Unfortunately, you need to GO to the Front Desk. You didn't actually call the Front Desk, you called a Call Center. When doing that, they either take forever to get the info to the right people or they just don't do anything.

ETA: I understand now. Your niece made the reservation but not with her DVC points. Sorry!

Yes, I know. I assumed that's what they were looking to add the additional days by paying for them. My fault for assuming. The PP is correct. Even though you paid cash the reservation was booked through your family member using a discount and possibly linked as a DVC reservation. The only way to get these services is to pay for them. This was the original intent of my message since I thought you were trying to pay for them.

Hi! We are headed to the Poly this summer but I'm stuck on room choices. We have a 2 year old (who is an early riser) and 5 year old. I was thinking I would ask for a crib for the 2 year old. Does anyone have opinions on whether a regular room or studio would be preferable? I read that the sofa and day bed in the studios may not be that comfortable. Thanks!

We've never stayed in a studio, but my preference would be a regular room with 2 queens and a daybed. We've also never had the need for a crib, so I can't say whether one would be more beneficial over the other as far as space. Hopefully others will be able to give some input :flower3:.

Any idea what time the torch lighting will be over the summer? I don't see it on any of the activity calendars past May?

I have not seen the June activities sheet since today is the first day of June and it would not have been out before today but May had it listed as normal at 6 on Tuesdays - Saturdays.

Staying in a studio standard view in 2 weeks - our first stay at the Poly! Checking in after an AKV stay.

In reviewing this thread, I am guessing I want Moorea or Tokelau for building request for the better standard view rooms- more garden options than parking lot views.

Our family is me, DH, twin DD14 and DD11. If it is a standard view I think we may enjoy the first floor but am wondering about passer by noise?

I think ground floor or top floor would be my choice.

I do know these are just requests, any input is appreciated!

Thanks for info! How was your stay? We'll be back at Poly CL LV in a little over a month!
It was terrific!!! We loved the room and location! The lounge was terrific (food offerings were meh). Lounge staff was hit or miss- some were helpful, others couldn't be bothered. Some CM were better than others. We loved Geoff!! He was beyond helpful and was very thoughtful (3 of 4 of us had the stomach flu on this trip- and we spent a lot of time with concierge cancelling reservations). Not to be pointed but, Tim was not helpful and was very rude and seemed bothered by his job. Housekeeping was friendly and attentive. Otherwise, we loved the Poly, the grounds, Ohana was fantastic!!! Enjoy your stay- I'm ready to go back!!

We are currently booked through the "Magical" agency with a standard view for 10 nights at the end of July. What are the chances an upgrade to TPV would be available at check in, and what do you think the cost of upgrading would be? I'd certainly be happy with standard view as that's what we booked, but thought it might be a nice surprise for my family if we did an upgrade.

I've heard a lot of different answers for this one. You could be lucky and you get it as a pixie dust upgrade. Asking to pay may be at the prevailing rate - which is close to $900 per night in July, or it could be less. I have stayed at WDW resorts on business a few times and paid the convention rate. I've never been able to upgrade those rooms at check-in.

Thanks for the reply. $900/night would definitely not be an option. Pixie dust would be great but not holding my breath. We'd be fine with Standard View so I'll go in expecting that and be surprised with anything additional.

@Mikeb1892 we had a standard view booked with that agency & ended up 3rd floor Aotearoa overlooking the Luau Cove beach and GF. We watched Wishes from our balcony & could listen to the MK Welcome Show over coffee on the balcony in the morning :)
Loved our room and the location within the Resort.

A very few short steps to the Marina and Voila! there was the Castle off in the distance & a view of the Water parade at night. Not at all bad for a standard view at all.

I'm sorry about the lounge staff being hit or miss and the CM that was rude/not very helpful, but glad you had a nice time overall and enjoyed your Poly stay :goodvibes.

June is finally here!!! Only 15 more days to a much needed vacation!!!! I will be the one double fisting Lapu Lapus!!!! I will be taking lots of pics and planning on trying to get a nice video of the new Oasis pool.

You will be checking into the Poly before you know it! :yay:

The pp answered your question, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great trip! The Poly is amazing (IMO) no matter what view you have :).

What an awesome standard view! With that said, I don't think there are any bad views at the Poly :).

Please does anyone know if I can use the pools and facilities for the whole day on the day I check out? Also can I leave the car there?

Yes you have access until midnight (well or until the pool closes) of your check out day and you can still keep your car there that day.

Leaving in six days for our Poly stay. We'll be there 8 days ...

First time staying at Poly. Last time we were at AoA - Cars suite and we absolutely loved it. We're a family of 3: just hubby, 7 yr old son, and me, but we loved the extra room there. Can't wait to stay at Poly and take advantage of the beautiful pool, monorail access, and awesome restaurants.

Guess you're there now! Is it everything you expected? :flower1:

They do add security. Every year they try new things and things get stricter. Unfortunately every year they seem to give up at some point in the day. I usually hear from some of the staff the morning of or the night before when they have their briefing as to what they are going to do to try and reduce non-resort guests at the resort. I have seen things like being checked getting onto and off of the resort monorail for resort ID. Last year the plan was to have security with the portable scanners at the back of the Great Ceremonial House, around the beach and even on the path coming from the TTC. Some guests reported to me they were checked at these points and people were asked to leave if they were not resort guests. Some years they have randomly checked people on or around the beach and last year they scanned people coming into the pools and issued wrist bands. The beach is technically for resort guests only but they only try and enforce it on big holidays. Even then I find that at some point they just give up. I had a few CMs tell me they had a great plan for checking people around the resort in the morning and by midafternoon they just gave up trying. They said they were frustrated that management did not have to guts to pull it off and they said guests were very upset. 4th of July use to be the time we went every year and it got so bad I gave up going then. They have roped off part of the beach for club level and they tell people to bring their patio chairs into their room so they don’t get taken but it sounds like the management rather have the guests paying suffer than to actually try and do something about it. I just got back from a resort that you were checked the minute you entered a guest area and given a wrist band. It was not that hard and they do have the capability to do it. CMs tell me that two things make their plan fall apart. They don’t want to pay the staff to do it and they don’t want to upset non-resort guests. We will see what their plan is this year and how well they stick to it because half the things they planned to do last year they threw out the window early in the day. I just avoid it all together now because I honestly have no faith in the managers to do anything about protecting these amenities for the guests paying to stay there.

Poor management is so often the downfall of many organizations. Guests not paying, but still getting the perk of location, location, location...hmmm. By allowing this to continue, management sends a message...

You don't have to stay here and pay here. Just come anyway and use our beaches and pools. We'll overlook it, turn a blind eye, and let our paying guests afford your good time, to their disadvantage. No problem, since they'll be back. But beware, if/when you do start staying, for those unfairly partaking, you will be paying.

What a jumbled mess(age)! Ugh. Glad I don't vacation at this time of year.

Come on August!
