Has anyone been able to tell what the actual difference is between the standard view and water view? I've watched videos of both, and they look the same!

The only thing is: looking at these prices, compared to how far they jacked the prices up at Pop, Caribbean, and both Port Orleans resorts, I would say this isn't too far off, considering the extra OMPF this hotel gives (at least in April, that's the timeframe I am doing my price breakdown). I'm sure that's all part of the plan though: "Oh, well, GDT is only 50 dollars more, I'll stay there!"My worry is that this resort, that they are going to start pushing Deluxe pricing now. I've never stayed here, but the location, I feel I wouldn't pay a deluxe price tag for that. So I hope they don't go too crazy.

Thank you! Personally, having a better fireworks view is more worth it than a water view, but that's just me. I wonder if Disney will raise the prices for these? From the Tower? One overlooks the parking lot and the other overlooks the lake in the middle of the property. I believe they both have fireworks views, with the advantage going towards standard view (closer).
So to clarify the new lobby in the tower will serve as the lobby for the entire resort? This is where guest check in will be now (even if you’re staying in another building)?
the only thing I'm not a fan of is the distance of the swimming pool. I'm also concerned it will be super crowded with all the extra rooms? Maybe the new hotel will be all convention people with no time for the pool!![]()

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already so I'll ask the question. It looks like the tower is directly linked/attached to the 'old' lobby, gift shop, El Mercado de Coronado, etc. but can anyone confirm whether you can access those areas from the tower without having to go outside? (i.e. is there some sort of corridor/hallway between the two such that you don't have to be outdoors if the weather is inclement?)
Thanks very much for the info!Yes, it’s an inside corridor. I believe there’s also an outdoor path as well.
The pool is a 2 min walk from the tower. The only way it could be closer is to be right outside the door.
we only stayed at CBR once before in the Cabana's section and it seemed like a walk to the Dig Site, but it was July and 95 degrees so that probably clouded my judgement.![]()

PP might mean the old building where the tower stands now. Cabanas 9a and 9b. They were a decent jog to the pool, especially in the heat that the PP implies. Are you sure you don’t mean Casitas? The Dig Site is literally right next to the Cabanas section.
I am the only one watching all these videos about the Gran Destino Tower and wondering if the TVs still have the Today Channel??
Granted the new interactive TVs are cool and everything but if they don't have that channel I'm going SERIOUSLY mad!!
With the new bridges I think it should be a pretty quick walk to the Dig Site. I'm going in August and am also concerned that all those extra rooms will overwhelm the pool with crowds.the only thing I'm not a fan of is the distance of the swimming pool.
