Has the parks bus route changed to make the Tower the first stop, or is the route still Bus Stop 2, 3, 4, 1?

Still same order. It’s just El Centro stop is now at the Tower.

Is there a new pool near the new Tower? If not is there one close? I imagine the closest one is the main pool which seems WAY the heck out of the way on the other side of the CS complex.

The main pool is a 2 min walk from the tower.

Would you upgrade from a standard CSR room to a water view room in the new Tower for $300? At five nights, it's a little less than $60 a night. We've never stayed at CSR, and we have two resort evenings and one pool day planned.

I would not. I won't take anything away from the water view in the tower, but that's a lot of money in order to glance at the water....unless you're going to be in your room a lot. That's JMHO. That money would be better spent in other places for us.

Nope. The “better” fireworks views are definitely on the standard side (better=closer).

Also, without a balcony to sit on, view doesn’t mean much to me.

I would. A standard room at CSR is not in the Tower. If you were in a standard tower room, I wouldn’t pay to switch to water view.

Just back from a CSR stay July 5-10. We did tour the tower yesterday after using RAC. I have to say I'm surprised there is no sort of gift shop in there at all. Nothing for a quick grab and go snack that I saw either. Did I miss it, because it seems very strange to not have something like that in the tower.

Also, with moving the guest services to the tower it does seem take away some of the advantages to booking a preferred Casitas room.

I just saw photos of some grab and go from Cafe Barcelona in the lobby - fruit cups, meat/cheese cups, yogurts, couscous salads, etc. - not your usual fare, but looked good nonetheless!

Also all kinds of pastries including some Spanish ones you don't normally see at Disney.

The tower features a coffee bar/lobby bar, room service, a rooftop restaurant & lounge as well as a club level lounge. All of those amenities are business/convention guest oriented. The gift shop, quick service and grab and go amenities are all still located in El Centro - in very close proximity to the Casitas, thereby still making them a preferred location for families.

So convention guests never get the munchies? Or want to grab a snack without having to hike out of the main building, thru a now empty old lobby area, and down to the restaurants???

A lot of conventions provide continental breakfast, snacks, lunch etc. I also believe that's the main reason that Three Bridges operates from 4:30 - midnight, rather than operating from noon like many other bar/lounges of this type (Geyser Point at Wilderness Lodge for example). I was just saying that the target demographic of the tower doesn't necessarily have the same set of wants & needs as the typical family visiting WDW.

Wondering the same, as some of the opening day guests were posting photos of King beds in CL.

Maybe some of the queen rooms are not yet ready and Disney is providing King beds? Or the room allocator has some freedom accross bed types? Highly doubting this as it would be a first, but since this is a new resort, who knows?

wow! today is my day off and i just vegged on the couch with a nice cup of coffee and watched the DIS and TT's tour videos from the past day. Made my morning delightful and soooo excited for our Tower room beginning of sept.

Before I saw thse videos etc.. I was on the bench if the tower was worth it as I didnt want the typical Hilton feel and these videos definately made it clear this building is uniquely different. I am so looking forward to the art work. Just looked gorgeous.

I loved the bathrooms. the glass shower. and the extra space on the room. Lack of balcony is not an issue for us.. So I feel we are getting a delue resort for a fraction of the cost.

I am just worried if they will price these room even more than the normal buidlings? I know the tower is geared to conventioners, but this family with teens would much rather stay in the tower now ( if the videos presented what we now are expecting). This is definately leaning more delux than moderate.

Question….does anybody know if Three Bridges restaurant in the middle of the lake has A/C? I ask because the description states "open air" dining and I just don't know if I want to be eating outside in August in Florida!

I was thinking that too. We will be there beginning of Sept. where is is nasty hot and humid. I really want to try the food as the prices are reasonaable and it looks yummy. But I will not suffer in heat and humidity to enjoy the food there.
