Odd question, but are there showers in the restrooms near the pool? It seems like Pop Century had them, but I can't remember for sure.

Hi, this thread has been so great! I'm considering staying at CSR for our stay in early September. DH and I will be taking our then 7, 5, and 2 year olds which has me stressing about the buses. I hate the thought of getting on the first stop (in the casitas area of I'm following along correctly) just to have them sit longer on the bus (my 2 yo is not so patient...) so I'd like to get on at the last stop but I'm reading the buses can fill, obviously. I'm just wondering how much of an issue full busses would be during such a slow time of year? Would it be better to risk it for the shorter bus ride with a toddler?

I would just use the bus stop closest to your room. The internal stops really don't add that much time, and your kids will probably enjoy looking out the windows as you ride. That being said, if you really feel the need to use the last internal stop I don't think the bus would be filled to capacity.

I haven't stayed at CSR yet, but I have stayed at other resorts with multiple stops. I don't see where the 2 or 3 other stops around the resort would take that much time as far as the 2-yo's patience. I doubt all of the buses would be full at the last stop, but they could be, depending on the time of day, resort crowd level, and whether or not there are conventions (makes sense that convention attendees aren't going to parks in the morning). My concern would be if you are the last stop, and the bus is full, are you (or your husband) prepared to stand and hold the 2-yo, along with the other kids standing and holding the handfails, and someone holding on to the stroller and bag? If it is standing room only, someone may get up and give you a seat or two, but they don't have to, and no one may offer. We've had rides where we had to stand when our kids were little, and it isn't pleasant.

If you choose the last stop, go early. Yes, you will have to wait longer at the park, but if you are trying to make a 9 am opening by leaving the resort at 8:30, the buses are more likely to be full.

I know every child is different but ever since he was 2, our son thinks the buses are a ride/attraction. You might be pleasantly surprised.

2 questions......

1. Coffee maker in the room - does it use Keurig type pods or tea bag pods?

2. Is there an alarm clock?

Thanks!

1. Round tea bag type pods.

2. Maybe, maybe not. They are in the process of removing them from all the rooms WDW wide. Not sure how far they've gotten.

I am sure this has been asked plenty of times but since I have never stayed at Cornado Springs before, can you see fireworks from Illuminations and if so what spot can you see them? Thanks in advance.

I gave my travel agent a list of preferences for our room, but I just discovered touringplans' room request fax service. Would it be redundant, or worse counterproductive, to use both? Should I choose one over the other?

The best spot is near the Laguna bar. From your room, the casita buildings 4 and 5 on the upper floors facing the lake.

As long as your TA added your requests to your reservation, there's really no need to have them faxed too. And if you were to do both and they don't match exactly, then the room assigner won't know which is what you really want.

Two quick questions...are there hair dryers in each room at CSR (if so, are they full-size or the small travel dryers they have in the values)?

Are there towels by the pool or do we need to bring our own?

I do 2 methods myself, Touring Plan fax service AND enter my preferences in Online Check in. I always make sure they agree and have the same choices. I believe there's no such thing as telling them too many times your requests (again, as long as they agree 100%)
In your case I'm not sure it's necessary though, since your TA will call in the request. As long as they are identical it won't hurt. It depends on if you can be as specific with Touring Plans or not. Realize some of their room info (lots of it actually) is inaccurate. They may show a room as having a King bed and it doesn't (that type of thing). And I know for the Poly they have not updated their system to show the DVC buildings. So be careful using their service and a TA. It depends I guess on how specific your requests are.
