Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

What section are you staying in?
We're in 9B. I'm not that fussed about it. WDW is smack in the middle of a swamp. Most resorts are surrounded by wilderness reserve areas. Just because you see a rat (or anything else) doesn't mean there is a cleanliness problem. I'd be more freaked by a snake.

Oh this seriously stresses me out. I plan to stay in 9B and I'm absolutely terrified of rats to the point that it could ruin my trip. Maybe if I ask for 2nd floor it would be better.

I've stayed and staying again in a month in 9B. I would expect to see snakes, turtles, gators and lizards. At CSR I've seen turtles in the back pond, lizards everywhere and cool frogs.

Sounds like it might be a garbage situation. I actually recall see traps in the landscaping last April. It was on the back side of 9B when I was going to the car. It was black. I thought they were for snacks.

We just got our magic bands last night! Just a little over 2 weeks to go! I can't wait for online check-in. I'm going to request Cabanas, knowing that requests don't seem to be honored very often at CSR (from what I've ready, anyway).

Rats are everywhere people... I hate to think about it, but any major city will have them and WDW is in a way a major city when you consider amount of food, garbage, more food and the food ends up coming out so think about the amount of sewers / canals at Disney.. Or rather not :)

At least they are food for the alligators
Emotionally it would freak some out hearing this and avoid CSR but common sense /logic needs to tell you regardless of valuen, mod, delux.. they can be anywhere even in your own neighborhood, sorry to freak people out... but the odds are very low you will ever see them.. we have been many times to disney and I have yet, knock on wood, see any creepers, crawlers etc..

oops actually have a question...
I still have yet to get this info.. We have a junior suite booked.. How is the pull out sofa..?? Only my mom ( age 64) and my DH are going to sleep on it... They wont share a room so myself and kids cannot switch out.

Also I had heard, is it true, if you have mattress issues ( sofa ) Housekeeping will bring you one of the egg carton foam things?? Is this true-??
I could see my mom having more an issue getting out of the bed. Some pull-outs I have been on, you sink so low its a pain to get out?!

Excited switched from the YC to CSR for our Sept trip!! Nothing like saving $900 and returning to our fav resort :)

We just booked CSR for the first time for a two night post-cruise stay. I booked the business class thinking it may things easier in the morning with our kids...ie: not having to go to restaurant. They are happy with small snacks. i am assuming i can get some continental breakfast items or am i wrong? I am also looking forward to the pool. They love swimming and water slides and i love to lounge around watching!

My four year old daughter is sleeping on the pullout in our junior suite as we speak. I've laid on it a few times all week and it seems soft and comfortable. No hard bars or anything. Only complaint I have is when it's pulled out you have this massive coffee table you have nowhere to put. We have shoved it in a corner as far as it can go but we have all tripped over it.

We are in Casitas 1. Bottom floor. I like the location. It is a very short walk to lobby and all the food options. We are very close to the convention center so I was worried we'd hear drunken conventioneers all hours of the night but nope. It is very quiet. But I guess that depends on the convention!!!

Pretty far to the dig site, it's directly across the lake which is massive. In fact we have been here five days and haven't even seen it yet! Been at the parks and our off days have been so rainy.

My mini review of CS....
This was our first time staying at CS. We were there from 1/22-1/31.

Food was meh. I really don't expect much from counter service. To me, it is just supposed to hold me over until dinner. We ate breakfast and lunch once at Pepper Market. Everything was edible but not good. We ate at Maya Grill one night for dinner. While service was awesome, the food was not.

Busses were great. We never waited more than 10 minutes (usually less) for a bus, except once. We used bus stop 3. Can't beat free transportation!

Cast members were all very friendly, polite, accommodating and professional. Everyone from security at the entrance, the greeters, check in, mousekeeping, grounds crew, literally everyone was super friendly.

The resort itself is gorgeous. Beautiful landscaping, colors and vibe. We were in building 7b. We were less than a minute walk from the quiet pool, about a 1-2 minute walk to the main pool, about a 1 minute walk to the bus stop and about a 5 minute walk to El Centro. The size of the resort doesn't bother us, we come to Disney knowing we are going to walk ALOT. Having to walk an additional 5 minutes at our resort is no big deal to us. This was a shorter trip for us so we didn't have as many resort days as we normally do, so I feel we didn't get to "know" the resort as well as we have others.

There were a couple different conventions the entire time we were there. We never encountered any "bad behavior". Everyone was friendly. I just don't like to be around people who are working when I am not. I feel bad that I am living it up and they have to attend meetings and work, etc.

We plan on making the rounds, staying at a different Disney resort until we have hit them all. We will probably stay here again, it will just be a couple of years!

A BIG thanks to these boards and especially this CS thread. I learned so much valuable information that really helped make our vacation relaxing and fun!

Does the Business class lounge have bread for breakfast? I know they have bagels but not sure about slices of bread?

Thx!

Jumping off this, are there any protein options at breakfast that we could request, even if it was just some cheese from the evening offerings?

Hi all! My GF and I are planning a September trip to stay at a moderate. From pictures, I love Coronado and POR, with a slight bias to Coronado. My only concern is the Ranchos distance to El Centro after reading reviews.. While the Ranchos buildings/theme/landscape looks amazing and most appealing, is the walk from Ranchos really THAT bad? We both run frequently and are certainly capable of walking to and from, but how long does it really take for a mid-20 year old?
