Thank you so much for the response! Children are allowed, but will we get dirty looks? Thanks!

Heck, no!!!!! The Lounge has several small areas set up for children (to color, watch cartoons, etc.) and as long as your kids aren't running amok, they will be welcomed by everyone! :)

Our kids are grown and we just adore seeing children in the lounge! :thumbsup2

We had "guaranteed connecting rooms for families" at the sold out CBR last sept/oct. I'm nervous about it slightly too as I know everyone on DIS reminds me even if my reservation says 'guaranteed' it isn't. I know they try hard for families of young children who outnumber their parents.
Like I said, good luck to everyone who has been told guaranteed because we have been told that too and it's not the case.
Out of the many times we have requested connecting rooms we got it once and the kids have outnumbers the adults everytime although I will say most of the time we travel at peak season so that doesn't help

Where do you stay usually? CSR? We've never stayed here, just POR and CBR.

Hey folks! We just booked a one night stay at Coronado Springs coming up in a few weeks. We have been to the resort a couple times to eat at Maya Grill, and other than walking the circle path around the lake and checking out the cool pool, we dont know much more about this beautiful resort. I realize there is a lot of info and I intend on going back when time allows to read as much as I can, but would love to know your thoughts on things not to miss. We intend on hanging around the resort on that day to check it out, not go to parks or anywhere else. We have always wanted to stay here, and will most likely do a longer stay in the future, but this being last minute, want to see and do as much as possible while there. Since we have eaten at Maya, what other places do you suggest eating dinner and breakfast and any particular things on menu that you really like. Thanks for any and all feedback!!

No, they no longer provide water bottles. There is water available in pitchers

Mostly cbr, followed by csr, por and even contemporary
Can't recall the one time we actually got connecting rooms was at cbr or csr (I would have to look it up) but the worst time was at cbr when they gave us rooms in completely different countries. I had to argue and ask for a manager but then they got us in the same country after 15 mins or so.
Connecting rooms is my biggest complaint with Disney, I have never been anywhere else that can't get you connecting rooms 100% of the time. I would pay slightly more to guarantee it too as not all families can or want to stay value family suite or deluxe villa.

I agree with ths 1,000%!! We would also pay a premium for this. We don't want to stay value (simply because our kids appeciate the pool slides) and suites can be astronomical! I went back and forth on just booking the jr suite, but all that it costs my kids should all get to sleep in a bed! And we're actually paying more for the 2 business class rooms. I even had my res noted that we are fine connecting a king to 2 queens, however it works out so that we can connect.

Random room question - Can anyone tell me what kind of coffee makers are in the rooms? (i.e. single cup at a time or multi cup) I would like to maybe bring my own coffee for my room (as I drink about a pot every morning, as does my mom) and would like to know what packet sizes are needed.

I'm sitting in our room at CSR and looking at the coffee maker as I type. It is a Cuisinart single cup coffee maker (it can do 2 cups side by side at a time. It uses the round flat pods not the kcup style. The room is supplied with both regular and decaf pods of Joffreys coffee. If I remember, I'll let you know how good it is in the morning.

I hope you're having a magical time minnie mum!!

We're having an absolute blast Dan. And if our first day is anything to go by, the excellent customer service has gone a long way towards improving my previous impression of this resort.

Then again, just being away from all the cold and snow has made me uncharacteristically happy/smiley/easy to please :joker:

That's great! I hope the rest of the trip goes just as well!

Hello! I think we are going to book CSR for Fall 2016. I haven't stayed at CSR but we did eat at Pepper Market on our last trip and found the resort beautiful. I want to book a prefered room, but some have complained on TripAdvisor that their room was still far from El Centro when they booked preferred. Has anyone else had this experience?

OK, so I had a cup of coffee while I was on hold with Disney Dining this morning ( the ensuing rant on that subject will be posted on the dining board sooner or later). It didn't suck. This from a person who is fussy about her coffee and prefers to grind her own beans in the morning. Unless you are bringing your own espresso machine in your carry on, I think you'll find it passab!e.

Haven't seen many answers to this, so I'll offer a few.

1) Hammocks on the beach.
2) Explore the beautiful water fountains among the Casitas.
3) Evening movies by the pool.
4) Stroll through the Ranchos area too. Very quiet. Different plants (more arid).
5) We haven't been in a couple years, so can't say much about current eating preferences. We have always liked Pepper Market, but I understand it has changed a little since we were there.
6) Enjoy!!

I've seen 2 rats since I've been here. But both times were near our room, so maybe it was the same one both times.
