Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

ok, so once again I reached out to Disney about my upcoming stay and once again the CM I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about. He asked a few others and they all said they have not been notified that its a problem. I tried to explain to him that I literally have seen pictures that the NBA was there and being put in Casitas where my reservation is at. He tried to assure me that Disney would have already called me if it was a problem. Just so confused and a little worried/disappointed right now. How can it not be a problem? If your suppose to be in preferred king room, but those rooms are not available, why would they not reach out? I mentioned to him that being only 3 weeks away I just didn't want to be told last minute or when I show up, he again assured me that Disney didn't work like that, that they usually call within a month out if there is a problem. Anyway that's the latest. Sorry for venting, I'm a planning kind of person and it drives me crazy not knowing :crazy2:

You should really just reach out to guest services, they have been a big help to me! Send an email explaining your situation (nicely ;) ) and they will respond. I've actually gotten a call both times, sometimes day of!

Good luck!

Is anyone at CSR now who tell me which is now first bus pick up for the parks?

I'm interested as well. DD stayed at Tower last Feb and it was the last stop and it was a nightmare. They ended up taking UBER everyday. I am booked at CSR preferred over XMAS and would LOVE to switch to the tower, but I have a scooter and can't just jump in an UBER.

So here now and just met driver for my Instacart order from Publix. The order was exactly what I wanted and packed well. I got text messages from the girl who “shopped” for me than text messages from driver when he was on his way. A 20% tip was added to my order along with delivery charge and service charge and yet the driver obviously expected to be tipped when he dropped off order and within 2 min of his driving away I got a text message from Publix asking for a rating of service and asking for another tip! So do they actually expect you to tip 3X??!

I guess maybe a little early to say fthis, but sort of looks/sounds like the CSR G-League experience will be along the lines of what it’s like staying there with any large convention/group at the resort (they just happen to be having a very long convention). You know it's happening/they are there, but doesn't really impact the general guest experience. Maybe?

Hope I didn’t just jinx that and they’re installing blue fencing as we speak. :-)

Well haven’t seen any blue fencing just a sign in front of closed doors going toward convention center and CMs block all access to Cassitas area.

So can you walk the full loop around the lake? I guess not given your description.

So..if I had no idea the G League was here this would be all I noticed from walking around the resort. Honestly I only really noticed these areas blocked because I was looking for it.

Can anyone post pics of the Epcot view at night? We booked GDT standard view and wanted to see if it’s worth requesting upper floor north room location

Do you think the basketball players will stay in their bubble area or will they mix with the public and eat in the restaurants?

I think it'll be a bubble and, if I had to guess, they'll eat at the convention center which will be blocked off. I was still able to go in there last week (the hallway) but noticed some movement of CMs in there in the distance. That might be normal though.

Also, we saw a big group of management walking around when we were there outside Casitas and definitely heard the phrase "second bubble" said.

It seems for the plan to work, they'll have to isolate from the public.

*edited for clarity :)

I have used instacart locally and get the same message. I am wondering if it's just a generic message that gets sent out to everyone? But the "extra" in person tip expectation sounds awkward. lol

I'm sure it's a "canned" message. If you forgot to add it before it gives you a second chance to add it or if you think they need more than what you first gave them.

So I took Farro advice and wrote guest services with my concerns. A very nice CM called me and told me that yes indeed the NBA-G are there and will be staying in Casitas(finally someone who knew, lol) She said that though she could not tell me exactly, that all staying in Casitas during the time they would be ther would be moved to Cabanas or possibly the Tower, but I won't know until the day I arrive. She also told me that them being there should not be a problem that they would be in their own bubble and other guest would be in their own Disney bubble. So though she couldn't really help me as far as knowing where I'd be, she eased my mind about that we would be taken care of and would have access to the restaurants that were open. Wish I had more to share, but this was all she knew and I think that info is about as good as it's going to get at this point. All in all I'm just going to make the best of it and enjoy the weekend with my daughter. ;)

Definitely awkward...it was quick and easy to place order and order was accurate...just not sure if its worth it for just a few items.

Although busses pick up at Cabanas before coming to GDT this morning there were buses arriving at GDT a little
over an hour prior to rope drop we were on bus to MK at 7:40. Unfortunately I was using an ECV which apparently was not secured properly and the ECV fell over when the bus went around a curve. Two gentlemen on the bus quickly picked up the ECV and push back into place. I believe the straps holding the ECV were in place but ECV might not have been pushed back far enough causing straps to be not tight enough to hold ECV in place. Luckily I was not injured other than a bruised shoulder.

Good morning everyone! I am about to book Coronado for the first time for our trip the last week of March. We usually stay Value, but the price difference was so small, we decided why not give Coronado a try for the first time? It sounds like we should miss any NBA events, so that's fine with us as well.

We're WDW veterans, but are kind of unfamiliar with this resort. I know it's a very large resort. We're booking a standard room, so I understand we should be in the Cabanas section. Are there any certain buildings we should request? We'd like to be somewhat close to the Dig Site & bus transportation if possible. It'll just be DH and I so we don't mind walking a bit, just don't want to be SUPER off the beaten path.

Also, is the hot tub open? (DH can't resist a hot tub!)

Thank you all! Look forward to all the helpful info in this thread!
