Even if your request does not come threw you still have a Magic Kingdom view and I think they seem the same to me, no matter what part of the floor your on.

Hi all :goodvibes

I just modified my reservation from a Poly garden view to the CR MK view. I've always wanted to stay at the CR since I was a kid and there was finally availability after months of waiting! I thought I should save the Poly for my next trip with DS (plus I can request a king bed at CR).

Will the CR be a good fit for a solo? I heard it is more "adult" than the Poly.

Also, does the CR still have the free internet in the rooms? I may need to do some lesson planning :teacher:

Never staying at the CR before, any advice/tips would be welcome!

Thanks!

Congrats! You'll definately love the view from your room. I'm always telling my g/f how much I miss "my balcony". She of course knows exactly what I'm talking about. Personally, I think you'll do just fine at the CR on a solo trip. You'll be able to enjoy the view from your balcony when ever you please. If you just want to hop over to the MK or back to the hotel, you can just walk along the path. The monorail still connects you to Epcot if you'd like to go stroll through World Showcase. I'd also recommend taking the boat over to Wilderness Lodge for lunch one day.

The internet was still free the last week in September, and I believe I've seen others mention it as well since then. Your room will have a fridge in it. When we went, we brought a bunch of bottles of coke, and a bottle of rum down. That saved us a bunch of money and time, being able to mix our own drinks while watching the fireworks each night :) Hope you have a great stay!

Thanks!

Another quick question: On Disney's site, it says:

"Olympiad Fitness Center:
Work out on state-of-the-art exercise equipment and treat yourself to a relaxing Swedish, aromatherapy or deep-tissue massage."

Does anyone know how I can book a massage ?

Thanks!

I think you need to call the WDW Recreation number to make reservations for that, however I am 100% sure if that is the number to call.

Hey CR Resort Fan 4 Life. I booked a standard view at the CR for Dec. 9-15 of this year. Out of the rooms, which room numbers would I get?

And I also saw on the CR map, the end rooms (Rooms 5151 and 5152). They seem a little smaller, but are they a standard view room, or are they a garden view room since they view water?

Thanks!

I can't answer that because I have never stayed in a Garden room there and your room is assigned 5 days prior to your arrival date. Hopefully someone else who has stayed in that area can help you, but I can say if there is a specfic area you like then try to make a request before you arrive.

Just got back from an eight day stay at the Contemporary Resort. As usual, the CR did not disappoint with its cheerful staff and amenities it offers. This was our 6th stay, but our first in the garden rooms. Many write this site wondering about the garden rooms, rest assured, they are just as nice as staying in the tower rooms. We stayed in room 5111; this allowed us to walk outside our sliding doors and spend time by the pool or feed the ducks. We started off our first night with a non-reservation dinner at the California Grill, the food and staff was excellent, I recommend the kitchen seating for added entertainment. I tried sushi for the first time (California roll); I’ll stick to my steak thank you. The next morning (7:00am) we had reservation at Chief Mickey’s! What a great time and the food was also good. If you are a character person, make reservations and make them early! As usual, we parasailed bay lake; this gave me a bird’s eye view of the new DVC near the CR. I was told that the new facility will be finished in 2010!

There were some changes from last year we stayed (game room location, food and fun center closed, new Contemp Food service near Outer Rim Bar and construction of a new shopping kiosk next to the game room).

As usual there is too much to mention, but here are the top 5

1. Garden rooms were nice and convenient for the price.
2. The Outer Rim is still cool, make sure to say hi to Tom and Wes. This bar is slighted to be reduced and moved, I hope they don’t ruin it.
3. Try Chief Mickey’s.
4. California Grill is the best restaurant in the whole Disney World (and yes, I did eat at Victoria and Albert’s).
5. This resort is the best place to watch MK’s fireworks!

Oh yeah, did I mention that my favorite country is Germany. CR Fan 4 Life, Canada is a close second.

We have stayed on a high floor and a lower floor in the tower and both offer great views. My preference would be to get a high floor though.

I'm hoping someone can help me. We will be going to Disney next week and staying at the CR. I just called to make a few requests and the not-so-friendly cm told me that there was a request on my reservation that said room #4916. I think I remember that somebody on here and stayed in that room and had posted pictures, but now I can't find it. What floor level is this? We requested a tower room with a Magic Kingdom view.

Also, we will be needing a rental car a couple of days into our trip. Does the CR have an Alamo rental or anything?

Last thing I need answered: Are there microwaves in the rooms. The cm I spoke to said they were only available in the suites.

If you get that room, you'll be in a suite because that room # is on the 14th floor (for the Tower, you add the first two numbers to get the floor, since no hotel has a 13th floor, the 4900 rooms are on the 14th floor). Also that room would overlook Bay Lake, not Magic Kingdom. You mentioned that you requested a Tower Magic Kingdom View room. If your reservation is not specifically for this type of room, most likely you won't receive it as these are the most popular rooms in the resort. The CR does not have a car rental desk. There is either a National or Alamo rental desk at the Car Care Center near the exit to the Magic Kingdom. You can arrange for transportation from the CR to the care center at the concierge desk on the ground floor. The WDW Dolphin hotel also has a car rental desk. There are not any mircowaves in the standard CR rooms. There is a small refrigerator and coffee maker.

I asked the cm if this was a suite and she told me no. It was a room with two queen beds and a daybed. The reservations specifically say Magic Kingdom View. When we originally booked, we wanted a suite but none were available. Do you think we're getting an upgrade and they're not telling us?

Soccermom29e-

I just looked up room #4916 on my map of the 14th floor and it actually is a MK view, the closest room to the MK, too....and it is indeed a one bedroom suite! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get that room!! We stayed in the one bedroom suite on the other end...room # 4908 (also MK view). The suite was fabulous!!!
:thumbsup2

Now you've got me all excited. I just pulled out my reservations to double check everything, and it definitely says theme park view. Can you tell me where I can find the map. It's funny that you said it is the closest room to the MK, because when I booked it on July 4th, I specifically told them I wanted the closest room to the park. I'll let you know what we get.

I'll try to figure out how to get that map for you, too!!
;)

Does anyone here know if there is a view of the Wilderness Lodge Light show from the Concourse Steakhouse at Contemporary?

TIA!!
