Disney's CONTEMPORARY RESORT Information & Questions

We are heading to BLT in 10 days! We have canceled 3 trips, and we will finally make this one! We rented points for a studio lake view - first time at this resort. Excited is an understatement!! Trying to read all I can find on BLT!

The Incredibles' house, and general design aesthetic of the movie, was mid-century modern, not art deco. There is actually some overlap of modern style and the original interiors for the CR. I agree, PLEASE don't go over the top with the IP.

Oh no. I was just meaning room requests. Since there are only 3 deluxes and we know exactly where they are, the only request you could make is if you want the 1st floor or a higher floor (only 3 floors in garden wing anyway).

Dasani Water (by Coca Cola ) 8 pack of 12 oz should be $4.79 at the Fantasia Market on the 4th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. 1 Gallon of Zypherhills Distilled water is $2.99.

If you don't see the 8 packs out on the shelf just ask a CM.

i went to the 1st post of this thread and looked at the pics of the market. is it fair to say about the same stuff is in there today? doritos/chips/soda etc. looks like they even have frozen stuff for those with microwaves

Yes they added items for the BLT DVC so if you have stayed at any of the resorts that share property with a DVC like BLT. I will find a grocery list for BLT that will give you and idea of the very diverse items stocked at Fantasia Market.

There is a mix of a lot of design aesthetics, but I was thinking specifically of the downtown area in the movie, which was definitely Art Deco in terms of skyline (one of them is basically the Chrysler Building). And reason I thought of it so specifically is that Edna M&G area in HS had a similar aesthetic once you got inside, past the brick exterior

The second movie even had some googie stuff going on iirc but I only saw it one time, on release at the theater

I haven’t seen the movies. Dd coming to visit for Easter so maybe a mom n me marathon required lol.

I was able to get chairs every time I went, though I was the last party in one afternoon. They are actively monitoring one entrance in the afternoon and assigning chairs to each party. It was actually nice to know where you could sit.

This actually happened to us today. The main pool was at capacity, so we walked over to the other pool. Within 10 minutes the CM came over and told us they could get us in now.

except for pricing im happy with that list. do wish could have a microwave though. 5 for a 2 liter is cheaper than 4 for a 20 oz bottle in most places lol

Is there any info on how much the capacity at the Contemporary will be reduced during the refurb? Hoping it'll cut down on the pool crowds a bit

I might be imagining this but didn't the Contemporary Main Tower used have Disney characters announce what floor it was on the elevators? I swear that I remember a Minnie Mouse voice as the elevator doors opened a long time ago.

I remember it from years ago in the garden wing and definitely heard it in 2019 when we were in the Tower. It’s a small, but really cute touch. I think everyone gets a kick out of it.

Haha. Yes. I'm here now too and it's driving my 13 year old crazy. Having a great stay so far.
