we did snag wave our arrival night for dinner. how long before a reservation at GF or poly would i have to leave CR to take the monorail?

Disney suggests 60-90 minutes if taking transportation, normally I would find that excessive going from monorail resort to monorail resort but with the distancing I would honestly do 60 minutes. You can always explore the resort if you’re too early. Just remember that you can’t take the monorail directly the Poly right now, you’ll have to get off at the TTC and walk over but it’s not even a 5 minute walk from there to the GCH.

Had the same thing happen for our June trip. Snagged the garden deluxe bc it’s such a unicorn, but wasn’t sure if I made a good decision bc we lose a sleeping surface. I couldn’t decide if we wanted the 1st floor or the 3rd floor.

Sucks to lose that extra bed, doesn't it? I wonder if the third floor view of the water clears the trees? I was thinking first floor because we can sit out on the patio in the morning and when the kids nap.

We haven't stayed onsite in 11 years, is there a way to choose your room? I feel like such an amateur!

Oh no. I was just meaning room requests. Since there are only 3 deluxes and we know exactly where they are, the only request you could make is if you want the 1st floor or a higher floor (only 3 floors in garden wing anyway).

The Poly rooms set a really high bar to me, admittedly. I’m reserving judgment, but if they’re going with a classy art deco version of “modern” in keeping with the movie, it’ll be amazing.

Agreed. I'm sooooo excited about the Poly. For my July 2023 trip I'm currently booked at Yacht Club and told my TA I may change it based on how much I love the Poly in person this July and/or the Contemporary re-do. The curtains leave me right now saying "nope", but I'm going to try to reserve judgement until we see the full mock-up like we have for the Poly.

They are a little in your face with IP (and ugly) when I was hoping for more subtle. Maybe they are the sheers since they are white and the actual curtains will be an improvement and bring it all together? I like the art and light tones in the test halls...hoping the rooms will be better than these curtains look. I love the new Poly rooms too, so let’s trust in the process

They are clearly the sheers on the window since we can see through them. The "Blackout" curtains have not been seen. Maybe they are still under development by Edna Marie "E" Mode.

Note: She is an eccentric designer renowned for designing the costumes of several famous superheroes, having worked closely with Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl.

Yeah. I'm not one to not stay in a room because of the curtains, but I'm still not crazy about them. I'm curious as to how the rooms themselves will look. If Disney is going about it like they did with the Poly, I bet it will be a while until we get more info. They were very tight lipped about the Poly rooms

Not a fan of those drapes or the test hall. I just hope they don’t go over the top with the Incredibles theming. The parks are an overwhelming experience for me some times and I appreciate staying in a hotel with decor that doesn’t scream Disney IP, it’s very relaxing to me. I know I’m in the minority but, I really don’t care for the Poly refurbishment results. I may have to find a new favorite hotel.

I was moving fast yesterday and didn’t actually read that room story, just read the headline and pics. Now that I’ve read it, sure is kind of click baity - Disney didn’t confirm anything, just bloggers with high powered zoom cameras speculating.

Sure, I guess those test rooms could be the final thing, but I’m going to wait for Disney before I get too caught up in it, personally.

Anyway, just pointing that out as other have in case anyone just read the headline like I did.

This is true. It's the same clickbaity site that claims "views of test rooms" in headlines when it is only the hallway only the pictures actually show. (They did the same thing with the Poly.) Come to think of it, it is only their word that the room those workers were standing outside of was not in the same area as rooms are not numbered outside.

Still hoping those curtains may be part of a test - that is failed. LOL.

FWIW when I was at CR back in January I checked out the newly reimagined hallway. It looks really nice in person! SO crisp and shiny! The colors blended well too. So much nicer than the egg carpet they have now. (many of us thing those circles look like eggs)

Cant wait to see the final project in September

We are heading to BLT in 10 days! We have canceled 3 trips, and we will finally make this one! We rented points for a studio lake view - first time at this resort. Excited is an understatement!! Trying to read all I can find on BLT!
