Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Can anybody tell me anything about the deluxe king room at GF RPC or the TPV? Would you pay an extra $100 for the king room or $200 for the TPV? We are booked in a standard RPC room. I know people will have different views on "value" but I really need some advice. The extra cost is not an issue but I don't want to just throw away money and be disappointed. Are the room locations "better" or is there any other appreciable value to these two types of rooms? Any advice is appreciated!

My opinion is that I wouldn't pay extra for TPV at RPC. Poly or CR, yes ... GF, no. The view corridor and angle just isn't as good or "worth it" IMHO. I like that the standard rooms are closer to the lounge and main elevator, the TPV rooms are sort of towards the end of a hallway and further from the lounge (in fairness, it's really not that far, this is just a small consideration). I tend to be "back and forth" to the lounge a lot so just prefer to be as little closer.

I stayed standard view RPC overlooking the courtyard pool a few months ago and was very happy with the room and view. I posted a bunch of photos awhile back, probably the first or second week of March if you scroll back.

Sorry I can't comment on a King room. Happy planning!

So glad you are coming! We're there until the 30th, so hopefully our sons can hang out and maybe do some parks together. Woo hoo!
He will love that!

Pas130-way to ditch us at the Boardwalk!! Lol:teeth:
 The heartbreak of a changer....I will definitely miss the BWI CL CMs this summer for sure. Keeping hubby happy saving money guarantees me future trips ;)

Erika , put me on for poly CL 7/29-8/1. Dispro and I will be there, Pas, maybe? Let's see if this one sticks and I get to meet the pas clan in person vs just pix :)
:grouphug: The Poly lounge will never be the same :)

Looking for some advice if a one night club level stay would be worth it. I am adding one day on to the beginning of my stay. My choices are GF or BC. I have never stayed cl and only stayed at POR, Coronado, and CBR. We would either stay at the resort all day or go to MNSSHP at night. My choices are: stay cl at one of these resorts with no dining plan or regular park tickets OR stay one night at AOA LM room with QS dining and 1 day single park ticket. The club level option is actually slightly less money, but one less park day and no dining.

Hello! Just booked club level at the Poly. This is our first Poly stay and we actually already had a standard room package booked with the dining plan but when FD dropped yesterday, the only way to modify my package was to bump up to CL. (It actually dropped my total by over $200 somehow so I'm not complaining one bit.) We've never stayed CL at any Disney resort before. I already have all my ADRs booked so is there anything else I need to contact the IPO for or will they contact me? Also, I was a little stressed with our initial reservation because I wasn't sure which long house we should request or avoid. There were so many opinions but with CL I'm understanding that we would most likely be staying in Hawaii. Any thoughts about this particular building location and more specifically the garden view rooms as that is what I booked.

The Hawaii building is great as it's convenient to everything. The Poly isn't all that spread out to begin with, but the CL building is nice as it's right next to the volcano pool and is a short walk to the GCH, the beach, and Captain Cooks. I agree with mmmears regarding IPO. You don't really need to contact them unless you have requests you want them to note and/or have any questions/concerns. The Poly is amazing, I hope you have a great time :goodvibes.

We've only stayed standard and don't usually pay for views, so if it were me, I wouldn't pay an extra $200 for TPV, but would probably pay $100 for the king deluxe room. The deluxe king will be larger than standard, so if having extra room to spread out is worth the extra cost to you, I think that would be a good choice (I'm not 100% sure, but I think standard rooms are around 440 sq ft, while the deluxe rooms might be closer to 600 sq ft, but hopefully others will be able to verify that or correct me if I'm wrong). I don't think you'd be disappointed in either one, but my choice would be the deluxe over TPV :).

the Pas crew is booked 7/28-8/5 in 2 GV CL rooms (again) :rolleyes1
:disrocks:party:

SO excited to see my DIS friends :grouphug:

my DS is 15 so he will definitely be down to make some friends (since his siblings are ages 7 to 11) :goodvibes[/USER]

Congrats on being back at the Poly! I know you'll have a great time :jumping1:.

Since it's only 1 day, I think CL would be nice if you will be spending most of your time at the resort. As far as which resort, we've never stayed CL at the BC, but have done both GF RPC and SL. My choice would be the GF as we prefer being in the MK area. Hopefully others will give some input :flower3:.

If you were to do one CL day, I'd actually suggest a resort day without parks for sure! I love BC and GF both, so if you are doing a resort day..a day at that glorious pool YES! Then the evening you can stroll the Boardwalk. On the other hand, if you do think you might squeeze in MNSSHP at night I'd lean towards GF since you can take the boat back (DO NOT DO THE MONORAIL, I'VE MADE THAT MISTAKE WAY TOO PACKED). Both resorts offer nice pools and a very relaxing environment. You won't regret either IMO. Only problem is, it'll be tough to leave :)

Thanks my friend  I think my Dh is more excited than I am. We haven't told the kids because hubby wants to be sure it "sticks"..he knows me so well. I do wish I could kidnap the BWI CL CMs and bring them to Poly for the week :)

Okay CL veterans I need some advice! Finally took the plunge with the family to get BC CL this upcoming October. Sunday is our restaurant reservation day. I know the CL will book your dining for you though. So should I leave it in the hands of CL or do it myself Sunday morning?

I definitely wouldn't do a park day if I stay club level. It would either be MNSSHP that day or just resort day. My dilemma is; if I stay at AOA (it would still be a resort/MNSSHP day) I would have an extra park ticket for another day and QS dining credits ONLY IF I don't stay club level. I am also a little worried about going from deluxe club level to Port Orleans French Quarter. I guess what I am really wondering is club level worth losing a park day and QS dining? If it is worth that, then I will definitely go for it. This is an anniversary trip with two 12 year olds, so I am slightly leaning towards BC for Stormalong Bay.

I would opt for a resort day with CL. We take a lot of breaks from the parks, two of my children are on the Autism Spectrum and just need the breaks. They would rather swim and go to the snack room (my kids term for the CL @pixarmom can relate :) ) And I am a believer in splurging on vacation when you can. Both BC and GF have decent snacks, GF even had chicken tenders for evening apps one night. Remember too you will have CL amenities for both your check-in day and check-out day so that may outweigh the QS dining a wee bit. Maybe consider it an anniversary gift to yourself

As an OCD planner....I tend to want to book things myself, but most will agree that the IPO is pretty spot-on for getting reservations at the 180 day mark.

I hold a similar opinion re: TPV at GF. It seems so far, far, away compared to Poly and CR.
@thiabelle It depends how much you want a King bed for the "worth it" value IMO. As well as a balcony, because you are kind of rolling the dice with a king room. You may get a turret room with the view and extra room but no balcony, OR the 2nd floor which are smaller with a balcony (and did they cut the tree down yet in 4201)..yes I had a lovely tree view in my Deluxe King, and it wasn't very convenient to the lounge IMO

I'm an OCD planner too. Right now I can't even get my sister to commit what park she wants to do on her birthday and its driving me up a wall with trying to plan out dining. But my main wonder is if the IPO's will have better luck getting those hard to get ressies than I may have (ie CRT)...

The best part would be not having to wake up super early to book :)

Are you saying I will have access to the lounge until the end of the day I check out?! I assumed I would only get the continental breakfast on my check out day. Am I wrong about that? If I can go to a park and come back for an evening snack at the lounge after I check out, I am sold!

You absolutely can. I know a few DISers may have encountered some snags with this from misinformed CMs, but we have always been able to come back and chill in the lounge, grab snacks and drinks well after check out time. Which even means an extra SAB day if you book BC

Thank you SO much for your help!!! I have been researching it and called Disney twice. The first CM said no and the second said yes. I really appreciate the firsthand knowledge.
