Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Thanks for the info! I had my heart set on Poly since DH hasn’t stayed there. I’ve gone down a bit of a rabbit hole and from what I’m seeing it looks like BWI appears to be better equipped for gluten allergies but this is based solely on what I have been able to find on YouTube. I’m sure Poly would cater to my needs as well it’s just a little more difficult with their offerings.

I’m going to sleep on it tonight and probably make the change to BWI CL. We are in need of another CL stay so I’ve decided against the dining plan. 😂

I'm celiac and have stayed CL at both recently. I would recommend BWI WAY above Poly. The staff at BWI was way better, the resort was less expensive, and the GF offerings were great. Yacht and Beach are also incredibly accommodating. Poly is the only place I've had a genuinely poor experience.

Our experience at the Poly was awful. The folks upstairs working in the lounge were lovely, but it took forever to get food to me and they didn't offer much in the way of alternatives. They were also so busy that it took a while to get someone to help me at meals. The downstairs staff was just plain terrible, including rolling their eyes and making a snide remark when I asked about allergy protocols and if I needed to fill out an allergy form. They made me feel like I was irritating them most of the time. FWIW I used to love Poly CL, but in the last few years it has absolutely collapsed in quality.

I hate to hear this! I do feel that I will have more options at BWI due to the type of cuisine offered versus Polynesian. Plus the fact that Poly CL seems to be so much busier. I’m going to give them a chance to reply back before I switch resorts. I would rather avoid switching as we will have to change the entire dynamic of our trip.

The discount that I have BWI is only available a day earlier and it isn’t available out last night. So we would have to switch to another resort on our last night. We are staying at AoA on our arrival date now so we would end out stay there but would still have access to BWI club lounge that last day.

Has any resorts with club level gone down hill or did I just have a one off experience. I usually stay at grand floridian but tried the poly due to price savings. That might have been my first mistake.

1.I did early check in a few days ago. I get here and the concierge member was like you didn't fully check in that's why no room has been assigned but no worries. I told her i completed it and in my profile when I log in it says would you like to modify checkin. That was my 1st impression that they are imcomptent.

2. Had packages delivered to the hotel in advance. Concierge told me when I arrived I could call bell services to deliver to room. I called and they had no record of it and was told I needed to wait until I was in the system queue for it. Called an hour later still not in system. Went back to Concierge and they talked with someone so I was in the system.
2. Room service cleaning wasn't even done for my room until after late afternoon. Usually it's done in the morning and when I come back in the afternoon it's restocked. When I checked in the other day another guest was complaining about it too.
3. I told concierge I have a cake being delivered to the hotel at a certain time will I have any issues being delivered to my room. They assured me no, of course they didn't know where the cake was so they had to call. It was at bell services all along. I was annoyed cuz I called them and the cast member said they would call me back and never did. I told them I had a dining reservation so they tried to fix their mistake by giving me transportation via taxi. They failed to tell me it was mears and it didn't give me an eta. So I sat there passed my dining reservation time and family members were already there waiting on me to be seated. So I had to get a lyft ride. The cast member that called for my taxi was like what's wrong and didn't they tell u what was going on. I'm like she told me to have a seat and she will call me when the ride gets here. He told me she should have said more info.

This hotel let me down so badly that I don't want to stay here cuz no one knows what they are doing in terms of disney standards. I have a reservation booked for a future stay but most likely will cancel this hotel.

I'm so sorry to hear about your stay, I would be extremely frustrated as well. I've never had a bad stay at the Poly but have had several little things happen where you can tell no one is communicating with others. However, it would be 1 thing in a whole stay, not 20 like you, hopefully it's getting better.

I mix up my resorts vs staying at the same one over n over and can tell you it’s usually the afternoon for cleanings. If I really want my room done I call housekeeping the day before or the morning of and that works good.

I had a delivery at WL cl in April. My friends finally asked if I had gotten yet and they insisted nothing was delivered. The cm in the lounge called everywhere and they insisted nothing was delivered. I got a copy of the email receipt. She also asked what is it? Knowing my friends it’s either flowers or a gift basket/not a brown box. So she left and came back with my gift basket. How can you lose a large basket?

When I do online check in on my iPad it usually glitches. I will try on my phone and that seems to work better. It’s most likely Disney IT that messed up and not the cm. That have some really good ones there at poly. A few are originals.

That whole cake thing though , gosh I would be so frustrated . Sorry 😢

I had a similar experience with a cake at WL CL. It was my DD 5th birthday and I was having a cake delivered from CR with a chocolate slipper on top. They had absolutely no record of it and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. So I showed them all of the emails and even then they kept saying CR doesn't deliver cakes here. Long story short, we never got the cake but they sent balloons and a big gift bag for my DD and a big gift basket for me. I still wonder who ate my cake and chocolate slipper.

I just received a phone call from Chef Rosie from Poly! She went over their protocols for allergies & over some of the alternatives I would be offered. Our trip isn't until early September so I didn't ask for specifics. She did say that GF waffles are a breakfast choice as well as a salad w/ the shrimp instead of the noodles.

We've decided to stay put at Poly. We are also going at a slower time of year so I am hoping for the best. I feel like a weight has been lifted. This has been a long time dream of mine & the fact that my usually frugal DH is looking forward to it as much as I am just makes it feel right.

Theres 2 booking categories for CL at CR. One is regular so assuming Tower CL? And one specifies Atrium CL so guess that shows how that works. Is there a reason its better? I mean, Im sure it must be, but why? If I booked regular CL will the lounge still give you a view of MK for fireworks?

Just did a quick search and here’s one of the detailed replies given: HERE
Hope that helps!

thanks will check it out

Actually, I don’t think that description is completely accurate anymore. Disney changed the room categories for deluxe resorts last year. They combined standard & garden view rooms into the new resort view category. Not sure where you’re seeing standard CL rooms listed, but the booking page shows Theme park Atrium Club, Resort view & Resort view King plus all the suites. There are no longer any standard rooms to book. The Theme park view rooms are definitely Atrium Club on the 12th floor. There are only 2 Resort view King rooms & they are on the 14th floor Tower Club. They actually do have a theme park view. Most of the Resort View rooms are Atrium Club on the 12th floor, although there are a few queen rooms that are Tower Club. Those used to be a bookable category, but since Disney changed to the resort view category, it seems to be random if you’re assigned to 12 or 14.

Oh ok, was just more trying to get the difference in lounges. I’ll remove the link. Thanks!

Thank you both for your replies. I’m mostly not concerned about what the rooms are like, but was more interested in what the difference of the lounges were, and if you could see the fireworks in both. I see that there is one category that says atrium club level, the other category actually says resort view, but I just meant by saying regular category not the atrium one . Sorry if I missed the technicality on that. I was assuming that the atrium club level was for the atrium lounge. And figure that the other category was for the other lounge, and since it is cheaper, was wondering if that lounge was somehow different, or lacking the same view as the more expensive atrium lounge. The exact other booking category I was looking at was resort view – club level, which I assumed to be any other room that didn’t have a good view of MK

Atrium Club is the larger of the (2) lounges and often very busy since it servers a much larger number of rooms on the 12th floor. It's balcony overlooks the MK is 3 standard balcony's wide. This is the lounge that also provides service to the rooms in the Garden wing that have Club Level access.

The Tower Club lounge is a little smaller with a double wide and deep balcony overlooking MK on the 14th floor. This Club only services (5) regular rooms and the suites on the 14th floor. There are (2) King bed rooms and (1) Double Queen room with a TPV. The other (2) Double Queen rooms are Resort view and overlook Bay lake.

Both CL lounges are located on the Front side of the A Frame and in the center of the building. They have the same view since the Tower lounge is right above the Atrium lounge.

ETA: fix text description.

The view is essentially the same, just 1 floor up. Of the two, I wouldn't really say one is better than the other, but they are slightly different.

The Tower CL is smaller. In some ways that is better, but in other ways it is not as good. If you are eating food from a buffet, then having other people taking food = the food gets replenished more often. (but also more people)

On the other hand, the last time I stayed CL tower, it was the end of the night, and they still had a plate of really nice chocolates out. The CM was just going to throw them away, so we agreed to put them in our fridge.

In some cases, due to the smaller size, the Tower CL CM's are able to offer a little more personalized service than on Atrium level, but is partly comes from the lounge having a little less to begin with. Like we came for cookies one day, and they were out, so CM asked what we wanted, and then was able to go get the kind we wanted.

On the other hand, it has been over a year since my last CR stay, but I have stayed there many times in the past. Before CR was changed to Incredibles, the Atrium CL had more seating. On my most recent stay, the table shortage was a problem. CR Atrium used to be one of our favorite CL's, but our last stay was disappointing with the lack of seating, food changes, etc.

Assuming it is still the same as our most recent stay, then I'd choose the Tower CL.

The food has recently changed again—for the better in my opinion. We didn’t have seating problems this time, but the lounges seemed busier when I was there in September. This time I don’t thing the club level was full bc there was still lots of availability on the website.
In addition to the large communal table right outside the lounge, they also added about 3 or 4 small tables on the other side of the hallway over by the CM podium. This helped with seating in the mornings. Breakfast was the busiest time, but people did seem to eat quickly and head out for the parks.

Oh, that's a bit odd they added tables to the hallway. The lounge is plenty big enough, but the prior arrangement of the tables was much better. I also feel taking away the help desk was a misstep. The desk always made us feel welcome, and it was nice to be able to sit while asking questions and getting help from the CM's.

The pricing for CL this year has been high, so we opted to stay non-CL. We did in-room breakfasts, and it was fine. The part we missed most was the PM desserts, but we made up for that with sweets we bought in MK. As much as we enjoy CL, it was nice to take a break, and not feel like we had to get back to the hotel for appetizers.

We had breakfast groceries delivered from a small company run by a former CM. The service was excellent. I think he charged a flat $25 delivery fee, but then the prices for produce, water, and sunscreen were very reasonable. Everything came nicely packaged, and the produce was all fresh/great quality. I'll definitely hire him again!

It was a bit of an odd spot for tables, but I saw people utilizing it. I agree that the arrangement of tables in the lounge isn’t the best. It feels tight in there and there is plenty of empty space in the middle of the room and around the food area. I think they were trying to give every table a theme park view. Prices for CL have been insanely high—we only did it bc we had a bounceback rate. I usually don’t like CL desserts, but the CR CL upped their dessert game this time. There were tiramisu shooters that were amazing along with some really nice things that went beyond cupcakes & cookies. They refilled all the way until closing time and made sure people had a last call to grab stuff before they took it away. I was impressed with the Atrium Club improvements.

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me if the Beach Club 1 bedroom suite has a pullout sofa bed in the main bedroom as well as a pullout bed in the sitting area? I've seen Youtube videos saying that the sofa in the bedroom pulls out to a bed but I also saw a Youtube video showing 2 chairs with no sofa in the bedroom so I'm confused.

Thanks for any info.
