Resort Thread Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH Resort

We are planning a trip the middle of July and staying at Caribbean Beach. Are there currently any restrictions on the pool? For awhile I think they were only allowing a certain number of people in the pool area. Has that changed with the loosening up of the covid restrictions?
I just got back from CBR last week and we swam many times. I never saw any restrictions on the pool (and I looked carefully). The pool was pretty full but not extremely so, even at night. Nobody has trouble getting in that I can tell or experienced. There was no guard at the gates. The wait at the main waterslide was 4 minutes (I timed it), or 15 kids. That is, after my kid goes up the slide, I count the kids out of the slide (around 4 per minute), and my kid is the 15th kid that comes out.

Hello people reading this.

I am looking at booking for May 2022. A few days ago it was giving me the option for normal rooms where now it’s only offering my pirate rooms. I’m not keen on them due to the location (wanna be near the skyliner) and having to pay more for a room theme I don’t want!

I’d be very surprised if all the other rooms were gone and assume they’ve blocked them to try sell pirate rooms. Do you think this is a correct assumption? Should I just hold out and wait, or should I book the pirate rooms and switch when the rooms I want become available thus saving money, or pick a different resort.

Will be booking from the UK using the 50th offer.

With deals, only a certain number of rooms of certain types are available. So it is likely - probable really since non-pirate rooms were “a few days ago” - that the limited number of non-pirate rooms for that deal are gone. There may be some non-pirate rooms available now, but not with that deal.

Since you just got back, I would love to hear about your experience at CBR. The rooms, the food, the skyliner... I'm glad to hear the news about the pool, because I imagine my kids will want to use it often :)

Interesting, on the MDE app, it is currently showing that Sebastian's Bistro is going to be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On the MDE web site, you can't see that they are closed, and it just says "No availability" for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
I plan on getting a reservation in August. My ADR day is not here yet. Out of curiosity I was checking what was available. Yes I did see Tuesday and Wednesday were not open. Weird thing is there were no available reservations on any dates I checked.

Hi all!
a few questions my quick search couldn’t find… if we are staying in Pirate rooms in Trinidad, where would we get an Uber/Lyft to get to MK/AK?
Do we just walk to nearest bus stop?
thanks for any info :)

We ubered but we were in Jamaica so upon entering CBR, we were right at the entrance gate, so we got picked up from the Jamaica bus depot. Not sure if they only did that because we were right at the entrance but I think they're technically not allowed to stop at the bus depots. We tracked our uber and basically had to flag him down.

* If we take Lyft can they get right up to the room locations or do they drop off where DME does?
When selecting your drop off location, you'd want to select your section (i.e. Aruba, Jamaica) from the locations under Caribbean Beach Resort. They will then drop you off in that section.

* Do we have the option of having Bell Services bring our bags to our room with our instacart order?
Yes, but in that case, you'd want to get dropped off at the CBR main entrance at Old Port Royale if you need bell services to assist you. There are no bellmen in the sections, only at the main entrance.

We were in Jamaica and walked up to one of the circles where a group of buildings converge. See photo below. It looks like Trinidad has two of these circles as well. These circles is where all the Uber/Lyfts seemed to be picking up and dropping off at.

How is the walk from Jamaica to Old Port Royale? Wife wants to make sure we're not too far from the main building. Building 45 seems to be a good balance between distance to Skyliner and OPR

45 is about a 3 minute stroll. It is our favorite location. Rooms in Jamaica 45 are closer than some of the Preferred Rooms in Martinique and most of Barbados.

We've requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 each time we've stayed at CBR, but have never been fortunate enough to get either. I'm guessing these are popular requests due to their proximity to OPR. I would suggest requesting "close to OPR" so that the room assigner knows that's what you want. If you just request Jamaica 45 and they're unable to grant it, they'll likely put you somewhere else in Jamaica when they may have been able to put you in a room in another section that's closer to OPR. We just requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 last trip, and we were in Jamaica 41 which is closest to the Skyliner hub and a rather long walk to OPR. We ended up getting coffee and breakfast at the Skyliner Joffrey's stand because of the walk.

That’s what I do at most resorts. For Aug I requested close to Caribbean Cay. Our first onsite stay was at CBR and we were in Jamaica 42 near pool And lake path. We did enjoy that location and mostly used the quiet pool.

Can anyone confirm that park buses are now being filled? And if so, if its lowered wait times in the morning to MK and AK.

We arrived yesterday! Uber driver (and I) wasn’t familiar enough with resort to drop us off at Aruba, but it worked out because Bell Services drove us with our bags and instacart order to our room.

We are very close to Riviera so plan to use their buses to MK today. Tomorrow when we go to HS should we walk over to CBRs station instead or is there any advantage to Rivieras?

Walk to the CBR station. If you take the skyliner from AoA or the Riviera to the CBR station you will be required to unload and then get in another line to then get on the HS skyliner route. If it's a busy morning that means waiting in two potentially longer lines. We always go directly to the CBR station when close enough to.

Anyone know if we have a pirate room book if we can be requested to be downgraded to a standard room in a building which is closer to the Skyliner?
