I read on here that someone said the bridge is scheduled to reopen on Nov. 26th. Can anyone confirm that this is the tentative reopening?

On my site there's now an overview of the Pirate Room refurb plus also all new photos in the Pirate Room photo tour.

The refurb overall is modest, but quite successful. Still wish they'd gone for queen beds..

The food truck is a nice touch. I hope it lasts, as it helps with one of the worst feature of these rooms--the walk to the dining venues...

Getting ready to do online check-in... We currently have Jamaica, corner room, 2nd floor noted on our reservation. I went to pull up online check-in and saw the waterview request.
We just booked a standard room this trip. I was wondering if I should request it. A water view would be great, but I doubt many people get it who don't pay for the upgrade and I'm not sure if my original requests would be better.

Are the corner rooms a little bigger with an extra window at CBR like they are at POR? So torn!! Ideas? Thoughts? Concerns?

We check in on Dec. 18th so I'm hoping the bridge will be fixed by then.

Thanks for your help!!

If you really want that 2nd floor room in Jamaica, I'd leave the requests as you have them. It is possible to be upgraded to a water view without paying for it but, as you said, it's doubtful that everybody who clicks that box gets the free upgrade. It's all about your priorities.

The corner rooms are the same size but they do appear bigger because of the second window. If you do get a corner room, you won't have a mirror over the table (it usually hangs on the wall beside the table).

How do you know from the Room# Text if you got your request or not? Like ground floor/corner room? We won't get in till 10:30pm so I know we will get our room# well before we arrive and really the main thing is I just need to be on the ground floor because my mom had knee replacement surgery and stairs are hard for her still. Do all the floors on the ground level start with 1?

Hello, all! Newbie, here. Staying at CBR arriving on Nov 11. There are five of us. Does that mean we will automatically get a room with a pull down bed or do I have to specifically request that?

If all five of you are on the same reservation, you should have the pull down bed since those are the only rooms that they will book for a party of five.

The cups in the rooms and in the food court are the paper/styrofoam type cups. The only place that we have had a "real" coffee cup is at a table service restaurant.
Thanks
Good reason to buy some coffee mugs to take home
Ooh not a bad idea;)

Or to toss one in the suitcase that you don't care if it doesn't survive the trip!! That was our thought, but the ugly thing made it back to the kitchen cupboard!
Haha, you could have *accidentally* broken it on your last day:rolleyes1

Does anyone know when the bridge should be opened back up? I wouldn't mind staying in the Jamaica village with our water/pool view reservations if the bridge is opened back up.

54 days until Christmas at Disney!!

We leave on Monday and I just found at about the bridge closure! I was going to request Jamaica, but now not sure if that even matters with that bridge closure. Any other suggestions for rooms or buildings to request? We have a waterview room because that's all that was available when we booked. And we have friends we are traveling with, they got a standard room. We would love to be close, or at least in the same building, so was going to request that. We have kids so was hoping for a room a bit closer to the food area.

With you having a water view room booked you can request any building. So you could request Trinidad North or Martinique and be extremely close to OPR and the main pool. Half of the Martinique buildings have standard rooms so I would link your reservation with your friends and mark them as "traveling with ". Then have both of you request Martinique.

You will get a link to a map texted to you as well. But if you have a medical need for lower level, I would call and make sure that is noted in the reservation so they understand that it isn't just a preference but a need.
