I know requests are requests but I would really like a building close to OPR - which building is good to request? I've read Aruba and Jamaica? Also am I correct that the buses don't have the same route?

Please add us to roll call for sept 24 - October 4. :-)

Jamaica 45, Aruba 51 and Martinique 21, 22 and 23 are the closest non-preferred locations. The buses have the same "route" but the order of stops is different. It depends on which entrance the bus uses.

Hi all, we only have to wait until the 20th before jetting off to CBR. It's been a long time coming! Can anyone that's been recently help me out please, what toiletries are in the rooms?

Bar soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Also can you drink the water from the taps

You can, but we don't like the way it tastes. We usually each bring a water bottle with a filter in it. Much better.

are mosquitoes a problem at all? I suffer badly if I get bitten.

Never been bitten by one in all our trips.

We haven't hired a car but would like to go to a shopping centre one day, where is the nearest and are taxis expensive? Will need to get a taxi to discovery cove too....so many questions I can't remember them all now!!!!

Sorry, we don't venture out of the Disney bubble when we're there so I can help. Hopefully somebody else can assist.

We leave in 33 days for our first stay at CBR. I have already called in our requests - Jamaica/Aruba and first floor. How far in advance should I fax my request? And should I follow up again via phone? What is the correct fax number? Finally, I saw in earlier pages that people found out what building they were in prior to check-in. Who did you call for this info?

Lastly, there are only 4 of us, what are the chances of getting a Murphy bed? TIA!

As long as you called in your requests there's no need for a fax. It won't up your chances any. To ease my mind, I call the main reservations line about 5-6 days prior to arrival and ask the phone CM to read back to me any room requests. If they are there and correct, I'm good to go.

In order to receive your room number before arriving you have to be eligible for the "Bypass the Front Desk" program they rolled out a couple months ago. You may be eligible if:

You have completed online check in
You are paid in full
You provided a credit card during online check in for room charging
You provided an estimated arrival time during online check in
You provided a US Cellular number or email address

If you are eligible, you will receive a text/email with your room number when your room is ready. This may be when you are waiting at your home airport, on the ME, still driving to WDW, etc. If your room is not ready yet when you board ME or get on WDW property while driving, you will receive a text/email stating your room is not ready yet. Then you will get one once it is ready.

Originally had CBR preferred room booked for 9/26-10/4 with no discount. Then came free dining. No availability at CBR for my dates. Switched to Art of Animation Lion King family suite w/ free dining and paid to upgrade to regular dining plan. Decided that we really didn't want to stay there. Managed to switch to ASMusic family suite with free dining with paid upgrade to regular dining plan. Continued to check online for availability at CBR. Today...magic! Have CBR booked with free dining (no preferred available though). Now have our first choice resort with free dining for a savings of almost $900 over the family suite after upgrading to the regular dining plan. If you're still trying, don't give up yet!

We are desperately waiting for standard rooms to open up for our week so we can switch from CSR. We have 2 rooms booked standard there, so I need standard at CBR to make the switch, and all that's available for FD is preferred or pirate rooms. My kids want to stay at CBR so bad. I see standard rooms available for our dates, I just need Disney to add them to FD.

In the late hours last night (Saturday), I found Standard rooms available @ POR and CBR! As much as I love POR, I've decided to keep my CBR since the rooms are remodeled and the pool has been upgraded. Ever since the FD was offered on 4/28 I have not seen availability for our week and was happy to have snagged it early that morning. This was the first.

I'm on my phone so I don't see all the cute signatures....what is your week?

Nov. 19-28... It includes thanksgiving so that may be why. But I'm holding out hope because I see standard rooms are available, just not with FD.

Add us to roll call! We'll be there 9/16-9/22 celebrating DD's 5th Birthday! We managed to get FD in a standard room for our dates and my friend and her husband who are going with us got the same deal. We lucked out because we had already bought our plane tickets and could not change our dates. It will be me, DH, DS 8, and DD plus my BFF and her husband.

Ahhhh, we are going early September and I just saw lots of availability for our dates.

Good luck!

I have a TA, was booked at BC but when CBR came out with free dining, I booked it and just transferred to her. It's super easy and there was no way I was going to depend on her to get it, since it was insane the morning free dining came out.

Was your TA able to move the money you had already paid on your previous booking over to your new one or did they have to refund you and you had to pay again?

I had put down only $200 on my first booking with the TA. When I booked with Disney the morning free dining came out, I had to put another $200 charge on my credit card. I actually forgot about the $200 I originally put down, thanks for reminding me, maybe she credited my credit card, I will
email her today. I will let you know.

Hi! Thanks for such an awesome thread! My husband and I will be be staying at the CBR Oct 2-6, first trip to WDW. All the photos and info has made me even more excited! We've requested a king bed room in Jamaica

Add us to the roll call! Our family of 5 will be at CBR December 21-28 with free dining!
I booked the morning free dining came out, just in case... DH gave the go ahead this weekend to keep the reservation. Booking flights on Thursday! Can't wait!

Okay, I have a silly question about the Old Port Royal food court and the dining plan. Can we pick up our dessert and drink (carton of milk) from the grab-and-go section first, and then get our entree ? I wasn't sure if they let you leave the grab-and-go area without paying first.

It is perfectly fine to get a dessert from the grab-n-go aread and an entree from another. Actually, you can pick up different items from each of the stations if you want. There is a cashier in the grab n go section but there are also central cashiers.

Oh--and is it best to do it that way, or get our entrees first and then grab the dessert/drink?

It's totally up to you. We usually just walk from one station to the next to see what we'd like and then go from there.

How does the CBR cafe compare to the AoA cafe? We've stayed at AoA twice with the kids so I have that as a frame of reference in terms of what to expect from a resort cafe.

Also - now that we're all set with FD for our week... for those who know CBR inside and out... we have two adults and two kids (our son turns 9 while we are there and our daughter is 5)... we don't mind a short walk, but if we wanted to request an ideal building to be nearby the pool and cafe and bus, which would you request? What would your preference request look like?

Hi, does anyone know if you can get a preferred room to sleep 5? We need the pull down but can only find standard and water/pool rooms with the pull down.

Thanks in advance.
