I got the email for our Oct 25th trip. The only time that Disney has had the email address that it came to was during online check-in, so maybe that's what triggers it.

(Also booked through TA, not directly through Disney)
 
Just paid off our vacation! :dancer::banana::cheer2: 48 days till Disney!:jumping1:

I had to call because MDE wasn't showing me option to pay (just said there was a problem). Thanks to all who have given such great advice I made sure to link my two rooms together. CM said by linking them that they will make every effort to get rooms together. Then I made my requests for location and floor. So here's hoping that the pixie dust is sprinkled on us and we get our requests!!!pixiedust:
 

I thought I once read that at about 20-25 days out Disney starts assigning rooms to new arrivals. I wonder if those that are getting the emails mean they were assigned rooms affected by bridge

We're still 40+ days out and got the email a few days ago, but to an email address that I only gave to Disney at online check-in about 13 days previously.

We got the email right after doing online checkin and making our FP+ reservations at 60 days out. Who knows?
 
I got our notice after making our FP+ but before we completed online checkin. We are still 40+ days out.
 
We're leaving in 26 days and don't have an email about bridge either. We have booked through travel agent not disney but have completed the online check-in. Seems to be pot luck with who is receiving emails
 
You can do online check in without doing the credit card part.
Also, there is a UK number to get through to reservations 0800 1690730. However, if you booked through a travel agent they don't allow you to make any requests.
Have noted this number, as didn't realise there was a UK number we could use so thanks for this:thumbsup2

We're from UK too but we usually just still phone hotel number in US using correct dialing codes, well we have when we stayed at POR in the past. It doesn't cost that much as you aren't on phone long and if your request gets honoured it's worth it
What are the correct dialling codes?:)
 
Can someone check into their room if the person who has reserved the room has not arrived? I have booked 2 rooms. My BFF will be driving to WDW. The rest of us will be flying. One of the group flying will be staying in the room with BFF. If the room is available, will the person in the group flying be able to get into their room before BFF arrives? Probably not a big issue, since they can store their stuff in our room, but I just wondered about the procedures.
 
I got the email sometime last week regarding the bridge repairs. We check in on the 29th so I guess the email came 21 days before check in for us. I did book directly through Disney and I did online check in requesting Jamaica (and getting streamlined check in). Maybe it's because I requested Jamaica at our online check in?
 
What is better for room requests? I would like to request a certain building number within a village, but I realize that requests are just that...requests. If that building is unavailable, would they keep me within that village or should I just request a certain village without getting picky over the building number?
 
I'm here at CBR now. I HATE it! It is much more spread out than I thought. cMs are rude. Luggage not delivered to room and it has been over 6 hours since we check in. I was on hold over an hour about luggage. DH finally went down to get 3 large bags himself. I am moving to POFQ tomorrow. I hope everyone else has a better experience.
 
Is there a place to change our clothes after we check out? We plan to use the pool on check out day so we can relax before heading home. Just want to make sure i can change the kids somewhere comfortably.
