Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

How far in advance do they typically announce the opening of a new restaurant? One month? Three months?
Normally several months before an opening date and many are missed.

No chance they're opening in two weeks, right?
Less than Zero. They have not even completed the shell construction much less the interior fixtures and kitchen equipment installation or actually trialing the daily service procedures.

No, I give this place 6 months. You have to have your head examined to pay these ridiculous prices.
Two people getting a slice of cake each, plus 2 teas, will push $100 if you include the tax,
Whoever at Disney agreed to have this establishment on premises should be fired.

I totally agree. Yet would anyone be surprised if for the first month there's long lines? 😂

I was pretty sure we’d give it a shot if it opened while we were staying at Boardwalk. I’ll admit I’m a pretty big, whatever it’s Disney prices and just tolerate the absurd pricing for most Disney meals. This one feels like a big no way for me. Diet Coke/ sprite for $8? Is it magical Diet Coke?
I think I’ll be sticking to Gideons cake slices. I love the chocolate cake with pb frosting.

Unfortunately, I do think people will just pay the prices to check out the newest thing. I don’t see us going anytime soon but if my two daughters get older and ask to go I would. I think it would be popular for girls night and mom/daughter meals. My husband would not eat anything at those prices so he’d be out.

Have you guys checked some of the price's around Crescent Lake lately? Here are some quick examples.

Here it’s $22-26 per slice!
Yachtsman Steakhouse Chocolate cake is $17 for a slice.

I saw some other pricing on WDWNT, I doubt I’ll ever set foot in the place. Ain’t no cheeseburger worth $32.
Cheeseburger at Ale and Compass is $23.

$52 for crab cakes!! I'm sticking with my prediction that this place will close in a year or less.
Maryland Style Crab Cakes are $48 at Shula's at the Dolphin, and Shula's has been there a long time.

I pay $23 for the burger at Geyser Point 2-3 times each trip, I wouldn’t pay $32 dollars for that either.

I normally try to keep a more positive/balanced view of the world and I don’t really think it’s fair to judge without it even being open, but I have and continue to be in the “I don’t get it” camp with this. I’ll take the high road and say “I am glad there are lots of options for everyone’s preferences at WDW”, but this place definitely isn’t for us.

I agree. I’m glad that there is a variety of experiences to be had at Disney. I hope those that go have a wonderful meal. I’m disappointed that I won’t be trying it, but those prices are just too steep for me. We do Disney every 2 years, so we have to be choosy with our restaurants and our wallet.
