We had a recent stay at BWI from July 31-August 5. Anyone who has followed my stays at BWI in the past knows that for whatever reason, this resort layout really confuses me. So when we got our room number and began the walk to our room, I thought OH NO here we go again

. But happily, this trip I did much better learning my way. I think a big part that messes me up is that it seems like the DVC rooms are where I always thought the Inn rooms are (near main pool and fitness room - don't take those elevators if staying in the Inn portion, lol).
I booked a standard room and received Room 3323. It was quite a hike, but we discovered different staircases (leading to different areas....) and we ended up not minding the location as it was very quiet. Not even sure if anyone was near us as we never heard or saw anyone on our floor.
Cons:
> Room needs TLC. Door to balcony did not latch shut. We had to hold it closed and then turn the lock. Learned this the hard way as we came back to our room the first night and our balcony door was wide open.
> To refill mug had to walk to Boardwalk Bakery. Not many drink options there. Only DH got the mug because of this.
> Check-in was backed up and really slow. I had to go to front desk at 5pm-ish to check on room status. She said "not ready" but she'd make a note we were waiting. Lots of other people waiting too.
Pros:
> Lots of good food and snacks on the boardwalk.
> Room stayed consistently cool.
> Lots of outlets and USB ports.
> I know it's luck of the draw, but buses were very good and of course the walk to HS and Epcot is very convenient.
> All in all, great stay and we will stay there again (hopefully CL)!
