Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Hello
Just wondered is it a refurb of just the soft furnishings? Do we know a start / end date? We will be in a boardwalk view studio beginning of May and wondered if it will affect us?
Thanks

We are thinking of renting points to stay at BWV in late August/early Sept. We'd want a one bedroom. Do you all think we can still get one? Also, do you know what the difference is between a deluxe view and a BW/P view? I'm assuming it's a view of the pool/lake vs. one facing out onto the street/parking but want to make sure there isn't something else going on. The points difference for each is material.

Thanks!

One Year away!!!!! :cool1: Until we visit the Boardwalk Villas!!!! So far away...........just trying to stay positive!!:upsidedow

I think it is mostly just removing the dresser and replacing it with one of those combo table/murphy bed things, maybe some paint and the bed scarf. It shouldn't take long at all since they did the big renovation about four years ago.

Late August, early Sept should not be too bad for booking a one bedroom villa. You probably won't get the standard view (looking out towards the parking lot and front of the resort) or the BW view since they both get booked first, but should be able to get pool/garden which would probably give you either the Luna Park pool or the leisure pool.

Hello all, we just booked the Boardwalk for April 29-May 5th...our orginal plan was to book the beach club, but we got a better deal at the BW.
Having never stayed there this is all new to me...hope I made the right decision.
I will have to figure out how to change my countdown ticker (took me hours to get it..lol) to the BW ...
We booked a 1 bedroom villa and a studio...
Looking forward to our trio and reading all the prior posts to learn all I can...thank you all in advance

They haven't announced any dates except just 2015. I agree with Deb & Bill's guesses. I think it was described as a "soft goods and some hard goods refurb." So new paint job, new bedding, and some furniture but not a complete overhaul.

So excited, just booked a two night stay at BWV, standard one bedroom. 4 adults and one 2.5y/o. Not sure if the 2.5y/o will want to sleep in a pack n play, any other suggestions? How about room location, I haven't checked on line to see the options, but want to request a good spot. Outside noise may be an issue with the little one, do I just request away from elevator? So happy to finally try this resort.
:)

Hi everyone! I've been a long time reader of disboards, but just decided to make an account since I have an upcoming trip. I just booked a studio at BWV with a friend who is a CM and had a good rate for BWV (we were between BWV and AKL but picked BWV based on location). We're arriving 2/10. I've never stayed at BW before, and am excited about the location, but am not sure I'm going to like the room. I read some comments here they they seem outdated. A couple questions: do the BWV get housekeeping and the Disney toiletry amenities? I thought I read somewhere they don't. Also, can anyone recommend a good room/area I should request? Not sure how the BWV Studios work... we would prefer a high floor and redone room, but not sure if there are any for studios. Apologies if these answers can be found in the thread, I did look through but didn't see answers to these questions. Thanks all!

You can also try the Disney Vacation Club set of subforums on this website - the Villas are part of the DVC set of resorts so you will find even more people who know about BWV over there. But, in general, it sounds like you are going through the normal Disney process to get the room which means, in DVC parlance, you are "paying cash" for the room. It will, therefore, be treated just as a regular hotel room would be treated - you'll get daily housekeeping and your toiletry amenities will be replenished every day. I don't know about "redone" - I didn't think that the Villas were being refurbished this year, only the Inn side of the building. And Studios are just, basically, your regular one room hotel room though with a small table and chairs instead of a desk, a pullout sofa, and a 'kitchenette' which is basically a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a sink with some plastic utensils and paper plates to go with it all. There should be Studios on the upper floors - I know there's a map somewhere that shows approximately which rooms are 1 bedrooms and which are studios (a 2 Bedroom has a connecting door between the two previous types; the connecting door is locked if you're in a Studio and unlocked if you're in a 2 Bedroom. :thumbsup2 )

Depends on how you booked the room. If you booked cash thru reservations, than BWV is just like Inn room with daily mousekeeping. If you rented thru DVC member, then mousekeeping only 4th day. On BWV, there is standard view (parking lot), preferred (pool), and boardwalk view. If you booked cash, then there are different booking levels.

Ok thank you! My CM friend booked through their company internal system, so I'm pretty positive we are 'paying cash' and not using DVC points so we should be treated like a regular hotel room with the housekeeping. I looked through some recent pages on this thread and did see some info on studio locations/where to request (I was started from p 1 before) and saw the BWV are being redone in 2015... wondering if any studios will be done by early Feb? I guess that's probably not likely! Thanks so much for your info

Got it. Thanks so much! Pretty sure we are 'paying in cash.' I was reading some of your recs earlier in the thread, really helpful!

With a studio and a cash reservation, you'll probably get pool/garden view. You might want to request Village Green, the grassy area between the villas and the inn looking out towards the lake and the Boardwalk. But not the Boardwalk itself.

Hey all, was MIA for a bit. I think I had Post Disney Depression!*

For this question, even though they are doing a bedding refurb this year in the villas, last month we had just a runner, and not a full (yucky) comforter. I'm pretty sure they made the runners out of the old comforters, though, so we still tried not to touch it too much! :crazy2:

*(Not trying to insult anyone who has real depression of course!)
Your legal PDD disclaimer is much appreciated by the thread hostess. I'm hoping for a lawsuit-free year for my threads:thumbsup2

Thanks for correcting me about the bed spreads. I think BWV might have been the last comforter holdouts, just after our Flagship GF.

I'll be there from 1/31-2/7. We can't wait!
YAY! I'll add you to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

Welcome to the thread! I'll log your dates which are exactly one month before ours. Let us know if you have any questions, including ticker creation.

Me Too!!! Can't wait have always wanted to stay at this resort!
I'll put you down for the same dates.

Congratulations on booking! Does BWV have rollaways for your 2.5? I'm not sure about that, but I think they do.

:welcome: to the DIS and the thread! Since the CM booked a "cash reservation" you'll get housekeeping everyday and the H2O toiletries replenished as needed. With a reservation made using DVC points, you would only get free housekeeping every 4th night, but you would still receive H2O toiletries, just not daily. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Heading back for our second stay at BWI 5/30-6/8! Getting to stay club level this time. Thanks for all the great info :thumbsup2

Even less now! Are you going to visit WL?:stir:

Ahhhh........our Boardwalk stay is for the 2016 Disney Marathon (we're doing the 5K). A lot going on during that stay since we're making it a "high school class reunion" of sorts. Need to see if we can work breakfast at Whispering Canyon on our last day...........that could work! :thumbsup2 We had such a great time at WL in Sept.........:cloud9:

Looking forward to staying at the Boardwalk, love being close to Epcot.........also thinking since you WDWKOOK maintain this thread.....;) ....it should be perfect for us!!!

Really, a rollaway for a one bedroom? I had not even thought of that, she might like that.
Any information on how I should do room request for BWV 1 bedroom standard?
