Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

At least BW doesn’t share with Swan & Dolphin anymore! The route used to be Swan-Dolphin-Yacht-Beach-BW, and in the morning it wasn’t unusual for more than one MK bus to pass us by without stopping because it was full. It was very frustrating!
That would definitely be frustrating. They should stop at the actual Disney resort first then go to the Marriott.

Thanks!

Just another question on refillable mugs situation.

Where do people refill them and is it those freestyle machines or just fountains?

RUMOR UPDATE: Jellyrolls Still Set to Close Permanently at Disney’s BoardWalk, But You Have More Time

Sources indicate that the popular piano bar Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk will still close permanently in the near future, but the timeline for that closure has shifted.

In our last rumor post on the piano bar, we shared that the venue would reportedly close on or around January 1, 2025, to make way for a new, Disney-operated jazz club.

Now, our sources state that the venue will no longer close on or around January 1. That being said, they also indicate that the venue will still be shuttered and remodeled into a new jazz club. Disney has also reportedly begun casting in earnest for the new establishment and has told those performers they would be looking at a 2026 debut. We have not heard a new timeline or date for its closure yet, but we could speculate that it is sometime in 2025.

This proposed new jazz club would be part of the larger, ongoing overhaul of the BoardWalk. Past updates over the recent years include updating the lobby of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and the opening of BoardWalk Deli, BoardWalk Ice Cream, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Big River Grille and Brewing Works closed its doors earlier this year.

Supposedly, the closure of Jellyrolls was always scheduled to occur after the opening of The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which finally took place this year after a delay from 2023.

The dueling piano bar is currently in its 29th year of operation. Admission is only open to guests ages 21 and up, with a cover charge required. Jellyrolls stands as one of the last original venues along the BoardWalk, as ESPN Club, Spoodles, and Seashore Sweets have all closed and been replaced.

As with any rumor, this information is purely speculative. Neither Disney nor the third-party company that operates Jellyrolls have confirmed any reports of the venue’s closure at this time.

Help!

Need to decide within next couple days -

Have a great deal for a bounce back, can either book the Inn side resort view or a deluxe studio (pay cash) garden pool view for about the same price.
Do you have a preference as to which to book if you've stayed on the Inn side also? We are two adults if that matters. Not picky.
😄

thanks!

Both are good options but some followup questions. Would you be interested in a King / 2 Queen room on the resort side and is a single Queen bed on the DVC side?

Pool view Studios can be warm as the sun sets on that side of the resort. Do you plan on using the balcony in the afternoon?

My husband just said that he wants to be close to the lobby, so I think we would have a better shot at that with a resort view on the Inn side vs a deluxe studio garden view on the DVC side.

I think we will book the Inn side. Thank you!!! We had it booked originally, but needed to shift by a day, so it still works out.

I stayed at Boardwalk last month. It was a high occupancy time with Marathon Weekend, Jersey Week, and Veterans' Day Weekend. We shared buses with Yacht and Beach Clubs for Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs. We were the last picked up and the last let off. All seats were full and many people had to stand or wait for the next bus. We rode at various times of the day and made two round trips each to AK and DS.
We stayed at Boardwalk in mid-November and also shared buses with BC and YC. Super annoying and crowded.

On busy nights, they separate out the BW bus. We were at MK last night (a Saturday, non-party night) and BW had a separate bus. But Wednesday the AK bus was shared.

It is no longer an issue since the Swan & Dolphin no longer use Disney buses. They now use Mears buses.

Problem is many Swan/Dolphin guests use the Boardwalk MK bus to avoid the TTC. After MVMCP on 12/5, the bus was jammed, I was standing by the back door. When we got off and were headed to the lobby, a bunch of people took the stairs down to the boardwalk. It was after midnight, they were headed to S/D. It’s not fair to BW guests.

My post was related to sharing buses and the buses stopping at the Swan / Dolphin before or after BW. The buses are no longer shared.

Yes guests at Swan / Dolphin are able to ride all Disney transportation, like the Skyliner, Friend Ship boats, and even all buses. Just like you are able to use the YC & BC buses if they are available when you are leaving MK for example after MVMCP. When leaving MK we often chose the Crescent bus queue with the shortest line.

You might find that some of that bunch of people heading down to the Boardwalk were actually headed to the YC & BC, in-addition to the Swan & Dolphin.

I'm not sure if it was a park or maybe Disney Springs, but I was looking at the bus stop signs and one was Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk all in one. That's another reason I assumed they shared. It's fine as it's only two parks. And we don't normally arrive or leave at peak hours. And there's always Uber.

Seems our dates (10/29-11/7) include both a marathon and Jersey week. It's really one of the only weeks we can go so we will deal with the crowds. Honestly this trip (first week and half of December) was really crowded too.

I'm just so excited to stay here! When I did the bounce back while at AKL we were happy to see dates through November and we scored a 35% discount! Resort view, but that's fine by us. :)

so we will be down at BWV in feb 2025, exactly when Super Bowl happens LOL. Is there anyplace you can watch Super Bowl without having to leave Disney Bubble? I miss ESPN :(

Off the top of my head I have definitely seen the shared YC/BC/BWI sign at AK. But the bus situation at Crescent Lake is one of the reasons I could never really stay over there for a full week + trip and always do split stays. The quick and easy access to Epcot and HS is fantastic but I frequently find myself inordinately frustrated with busing elsewhere when I stay over there in a way I’m not at the mono resorts. My first YC stay it took forever for buses to come to HS when the boats were down for lightning, and we actually did share with Swolphin that time I guess since it was a weather related shut down of boat service they are still part of. We watched bus after bus for Riv come before we got one, shared between all of Crescent Lake, it was ridiculous. Couldn’t walk bc it was pouring raining and I was loaded down with souvenirs anyway. I get transportation snafus can happen anywhere but it was very uncool.

We did end up booking our May trip the other day and will just be doing Epcot and HS when we’re at Boardwalk. From Poly we will do AK despite it being a slightly longer bus ride—they share with GF coming back from the parks but are dropped off first. Still I am very excited about doing the HS walk from BWI. I’ll never forget getting jumpscared by the creepy clown pool at night the first time I stayed at BC and cut thru BWI to get home. 😂
