Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

I'm looking forward to going to AofA. Rooms like huge. I'm wondering if someone can take a picture of the inside of their frig with 'stuff' inside.

I'm planning a large gardengrocer order and want to make sure its all going to fit.

Hi folks! Thank you to all of those that replied to my post!

I was a bit concerned about the distance to the buses, but y'all eased my mind. Thanks!

**One other thing...for parking and getting in and out of the resort, is it like a "one way in/out sort of deal" or are their multiple exits? Like, how hard will it be to exit in the morning via car??

I'm just trying to wrap my mind about how big this place is, as we need to leave the resort to go to sea world one of the days. We stayed at Swan and Dolphin in 2000, but that was my last time on disney prop. Since then, we've always stayed off.

Thanks!

There's one main entrance/exit for AoA, but I wouldn't expect any traffic issues during your Sea World morning.

Technically you can connect through the parking lots to the Pop Century entrance/exit as well, but that isn't something you'd need to do.

If you google "art of animation fridge" then click on images there are loads of photos of the fridges and the insides :thumbsup2

Just curious: what would you guys say to convince someone to stay in the AoA Little Mermaid section (don't need a suite) over, say, Pop or one of the mods?

I've never stayed in any of the mods, but the reason why I picked LM at AoA over Pop for my next trip is the theming inside the rooms - at Pop Century the theming outside is amazing . . . but I don't think it's as great inside the rooms. The theming at LM continues inside the room ... the shower is one of my favorite parts and I love being immersed in things that remind me of one of my favorite movies.

Yesterday there were rooms available for my stay, today none! I needed a LM room (work thing) and now they are booked! I booked Pop but will keep trying!

Hi! Can you post some pix of the resort? I'm just kinda wondering if you are standing at, say Cars, can you even see mermaid and lion king?

Any pix are much appreciated!

It depends on where you're standing but it is possible to see at least *some* of Little Mermaid from the Cars section. We were in Lion King and I could definitely see some of the Cars area from outside of our LK building. If you look at the map on the first post of this thread, you'll see that the LM section sort of "curves" away from the rest of the resort so it's not all in a straight line. That's the reason you can't necessarily see from one end to the other (as well as building and landscaping that interfere with the view). It's a half a mile from the outside edge of the Cars section to the outside edge of the Little Mermaid section. It's a beautiful resort to walk around at night.

Quick transportation question:

How early do they start running buses to the MK? We are going in the end of Sept and have an 8:20 CP ADR (no EMH's that day). Is there any chance of making it to the gates by 8:00?

Thank you!

Would also like to know about this! We stayed at AOA last year but used our truck. Was thinking about trying the transportation this year but don't want to be late for any ADRs!

Buses start running at 6:30am. I would be out at the bus stop at least an hour before your ADR. We've never had a problem making an early ADR at a theme park using buses. In fact, AOA was the best all around transportation we've ever had at WDW. :thumbsup2

Oh, good! That should work out well, then. Now, the fun becomes getting everyone out the door by that time... ;)

Hi!

Quick question. I recently booked three nights at AoA. The first 2 nights we'll spend in a LM but I booked at Lion King Suite for our last night.

LM rooms have "motel type" doors (you open the door and you're outside).

Is it the same for Lion King Suites? Or do you get a hallway?

Thanks in advance.

The suites all have interior hallways.

I just booked my family of 5 in our first trip to AOA in Cars suite. We are staying 1/24-1/31/15. In the past we have stayed at the wilderness lodge but this trip our baby is going to be 5 so we exceeded the limit. I was wondering if there is a certain building or location to request that would be the most convent to the bus stops and food court?
