Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

I can't wait to stay in the AOA in Nov 2014! and do you know any drinking bars in the Art of Animation and where is it and the name of the bar?

There's the Drop-Off Pool Bar near the Big Blue Pool in the Finding Nemo section. You can see it when you walk out of the main building, going towards the pool. They've got TV and a variety of both beers and mixed drinks (they may also have wine, I don't remember, but I'm sure you can find the menu online somewhere). They also sell some beer in the regular food court.

Now that 2015 rates have been release I was looking to book a vacation for my family for the last week of April. We'd like to stay at AoA. We are a family of 5 but, the grandparents are coming to so, one kid would go on there reservation, this way we can save money buy going with 2 standard rooms.

Here is my issue, when I go to the Disney website and select 2 adults and 2 kids, it says the standard Little Mermaid rooms are not available. When I change it to 2 adults and 1 kid, the rooms become available. These rooms are suppose to sleep up to 4 adults so why will it not let me chose one with 2 adults and 2 kids?

I just tried it to see and I saw the same thing you did but when I tried march it worked...so the issue must be something other than the amount of people... Don't know if those rooms are booked already for that time or it's just a glitch that far out... I guess I would call

I just tried it again and got it to work for just about any day in April... Must have just been a temp glitch... ENJOY

I wanted to stay in the Finding Nemo but it's sold out they have only Cars and Lion King for November and Our Family will take the Cars theme in the AOA!

We just booked a finding nemo suite for next April! Can anyone tell me if these rooms are close to the bus stops?

We are just spending our arrival night at AOA then switching the next day to POR. We aren't sure what time we will roll in on arrival night, and we aren't visiting a park that first day. (Before that first day was going to be our arrival day.)

So, will AOA let us stay past checkout time to swim or let us checkout after 11?

You can ask, but it certainly won't be a given.

Even if you only get late check-out until 12 noon, you can still use the pools and all facilities the entire day.

Great to hear! Who knows, we might even be done with the pool and ready to move on with our journey by 11. But I feel better knowing we'll have some flexibility with our time to swim and explore the grounds.

I think I have read almost every post in this thread. There's a lot of discussion about how great the LM rooms and LK and Cars suites are. We have a Nemo suite booked for next month. We have requested highest floor and lake view because we are hoping to avoid any noise from the Big Blue. So ... Please tell me (if) the Nemo suites are every bit as great as LK and Cars suites. ;)

And at the Cars pool, there is a huge locker room where you could clean up afterwards, if you like/need. Not sure if there at similar facilities at the Nemo or LM pools..?

All (or certainly most, if that's not accurate) Disney resort pools have a restroom/changing building nearby. The Big Blue (Nemo) and Flippin' Fins (LM) pools have their own facilities.

From what I've read ( and a research A LOT ) the majority of people are happy with Nemo suites, close to transport and registration/food. I've read a lot of reviews on Trip Advisor also that have been positive about Nemo. Funny but we also have a Nemo suite reserved for next month and I have requested the same location :) I'm sure you will love it! It's our first trip to WDW so I cannot say from first hand experience, but I betcha it will be great :)

Edited for duplicate post

Does anyone know if they have vests at the pool? We have a 4 year old who still doesn't swim without one.

I keep second guessing myself and my decisions. Please help me!!!

The first trip my family took to Disney was in Dec. 2011 and we stayed at Polynesian. My kids loved it and want to stay there again, but with construction there's no way!

We are going back in Dec. 2014 (5th-10th) and are booked at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge Studio. I know it's a small room, but there seems to be lots to do and I like the idea of taking the boat to MK and Contemporary for the monorail. But now I'm wondering if I'd be better off in a resort like BWI or a suite at AoA? My kids liked the Nemo rooms, but they are no longer available with RO discounts. Please help. I'm like a lunatic. I keep changing my mind. My kids know we're going, but they don't know where we are staying. My DH just says do what you want. LOL:confused3
