Does anyone know if there will be a discount for the suite? I'm looking at my budget for our big trip in 2 years (yes I'm a planner!) and wondering if I'll be able to save on the suite or if there is a free dining plan offered, if that will save me in the long run.
The only thing to compare it to would be the suites at ASMU and they recently started including these suites in the fd. I don't know if they'll do it for the 1st year the resort's open, but if attendance is still low and you're going off peak, I think there's a good chance discounts would be offered for this resort, too.

It is open for booking. Sept value season rates are $249 weeknight/$279 weekend and Cars and Nemo (the only sections that look to be loaded so far) are bookable categories without an upcharge for selecting your section.

For those of you getting price quotes for the AOA resort......what dates are you putting in? I am trying to get a quote for the last week of May/first week of June and it says it's not available.

I checked Jan and the resort wasn't listed, then April and the same thing, then Sept and it was there. So the system seems to be programmed with the target opening dates.

Thanks! I put in end of August/first of September dates and it gave me a quote for a suite. I guess they don't expect the rooms (non-suites) to be open by then.

Dang, for a week's stay, it's $600 more than ASMU suites:scared1:

Maybe we'll wait and see if it comes down, are not stay there like we'd planned.

I wish that the master bedroom would look a bit more adult oriented. Since I am sure that most families will have the parents staying in the master bedroom and the children staying on the pullouts, I would think that Disney would make that bedroom a bit less childish. I love how the all star music family suites are decorated. The master bedroom is very understated and adult looking while still nicely themed.

I am also concerned with the price. It is starting to look like that the value resorts are no longer a value. We may have to start staying off site in order to be able to continue to afford to take our trips to Disney World.

Wow. That's almost cost prohibitive for us :sad1:.

ok, did it again, and it's only $400 more for 7 nights, but I don't think I will do it.

I looked into August and November, and it showed availability.

While I know there is a true need for something more affordable for families of 5 and 6.... not sure this is the answer and wonder how well this resort will do.

For less money, can get two regular value rooms, adjoining, to accommodate that family size... AND with that have total of 4 full size beds, instead of one bed and a bunch of pullouts. I'd rather pay less for 2 regular rooms and have real beds for everyone.
I just wonder how popular these will end up being.... what, there's over 1,100 suites? Values are always pretty full.... I do think there is need for another value resort, and wish they designated more than just the Mermaid section to regular rooms. Am kinda wishing they did the resort half regular and half suites... and putting in more adjoining rooms to accommodate families.

I wonder if there is a way for them to reconvert some of these family suites to regular rooms if it's found out that people really aren't booking them?

Love the theming of the grounds, but the rooms does seem to be a bit too in your face. The Cars I like, but the others just strike me as too much.
And like someone else had said, would have been nice if the main bedroom was more understated compared to the rest.

i totally agree with you on that.
but, no matter how much the values increase, i will continue to stay on site.
i go solo and do not want to deal with a car rental to stay off site.

i started staying at the sports resort 3 months after they were opened.
$49 a night and that was without any discounts.
over the years, the prices have increased on all the resorts, all stars included.

i'm now paying in value 2 season, $95 base w/out tax for weeknights.
for the Friday-saturday nights, $127.xx/including tax for those nights.

the room itself is not worth it.
no fridge, no thrills, but affordable for me on a 8 day stay.

i don't know how families can afford staying onsite.
the new resort opening at the prices someone else posted here, are HIGH.

it is a sticker shocker for newbies making their first adventure to the motherland.
i hope it does not discourage them from staying onsite.

We booked but for the price difference really wondering if we should just not do Beach club its less than $800 more. If you add in the fact that I try to get free dinning if they have it next year or room discount and they are always bigger at Deluxe resorts . I thought I was confused before but now that I see the prices I am even more confused.:confused3 Anyone else having a hard time with paying the price increase for a Value Resort ?

Nothing for October, November or December 2012, that I could bring up.

Keep trying we have 9 day September 14-22 2012 . I am not so sure I want to stay here . I was thinking Beach club Kids are thinking Cars . Its their trip so they win.

Is there a link to pics of the new resort? Or is it still just "concept" art?

Just for the fun of it, I just priced going for 7 days in June and the Art of Animation was almost $1500 more than Pop. This is for 2 adults and 2 kids (12 and 8) with regular dining and 6 day park tickets. Surely I did something wrong, it was over $4500 for that! Of course that is with no discount but still!

We aren't going until 2013 possibly 2014 and I looked at next year's June prices too just to see and wow, that is quite expensive! I just don't know...may stay at ASMu suites with it being a bit cheaper. I don't know if they will decrease prices in the next 2-3 years. The cost of the room alone is going to eat my budget!

Thanks! Unfortunately, my two older kids will be in school by then so the only times we would be able to go for a good long week would be during Christmas holiday, spring break, or summer. Of course, those times would mean a higher cost. :sad2:
