Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort Frequently Asked Questions (slight update 5/14)

I am planning our vacation this fall. We will be doing a split stay at GF and AKL. I must say with my planning and requests at both resorts. That - AKL concierge itinerary planners are the very best.

Don and Juanita have been fantastic taking care of our requests and responding quickly to my questions. We have both the sunrise and Wanyama Safaris's scheduled. As well as a few other dinners and activities.

I can't wait to return.

Just got back yesterday. Stayed at AKL from july 7th - july 16th. Had room # 2301..had a great view with lots of animals. 2 queen beds, would of loved bunk beds but didn't want to change since our view was so good. Had a great housekeeper who was from jamaica (didn't get her name) & had towel animals almost everyday.

You sure can...I just booked this afternoon. We are going on the cruise with Laura and DGH (Marco) Aug 7th then we are going over to WDW and spend extra time with them at the AKL.

Wow, that is an AWESOME price ya got!!! Last year, Laura and Marco spent time with my DSis, AspiringCindy at WL and the Illuminations Cruise.....she and her DFam are enjoying themselves at b**bworld, AKA Dollywood.. ! Hey...I'm really starting to see a LOT of familiar faces here....

Looks like we are going to WDW 10/1 to 10/9 and for the very first time, we are going to try and AKL Deluxe Savanah (possibly concierge if funds allow) from the 1st to the 4th. Then we will be spending the 4th to the 9th at WL Courtyard (again, possibly concierge if funds allow).

I'll be reading through the thread for the next few days. I'm sure I'll have questions. Heh!

We will be staying at AKL for the first time in October. We can't wait, it will be our first stay here. We got a great AP rate, so we just had to jump at it.

I have a question: Do the refillable mugs come in different designs, so if you have multiple mugs in one room you can tell them apart?

At ASM 5 years ago they had different color lids you could pick, but last year at AKL all of the mugs were the same.

It was pretty tough figuring out whose was whose. We kind of had to remember where we left each one.

We just asked our TA to change our room view from water/pool view to Savanna view for our stay in December. We will now be staying in a Deluxe Savanna view room. I am so excited. I have read that some folks think the view isn't so great from the 5th floor but I am kind of looking forward to it. I hope it will not turn into a mistake and that we don't end up with a stinky view.
