...tee-hee-hee!! They ARE so dang good!!! Ya might say they're :maleficen SINFUL!!

:flower: I love the 5th floor view. You are up high enough to get a nice long view out into the savannah, but you are not far from the animals at all. They come very close to the buildings. When we took the Wanyama safari the guides explained that they change the animals on the savannah’s. We were only there last time for 5 days, but at the end of the visit we did see different types of animals on our savannah by our room.

ALK is such a special resort. I know you will love it. As you walk to your room be sure to look out all the windows on both sides of the building. We were on the main savanna but found many times at night there were animals right under the windows on the sunset savannah. It was a wonderful trip.... sigh) We can't wait until the end of September! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Oh boy, I can't wait! :bounce:

I've been to Boma a number of times and always wished I could just stay overnight--and this time I get to! I took someones suggestion to do a split stay, so DS and I will only be there two nights, but 2 is certainly better than none.

Thanks to you all for the wonderful information on this thread.

I'm warning ya - hope you don't wind up doing what WE did! We had a split stay bewtten AKL and Ft W cabins....long story short, ne never DID make it over there to those Ft W cabins!!! (changed our ressies on our 2nd day!)

Luckily, we are staying there the last part of the trip (first 5 nights at CSR, which DS and I love). It's a good thing, too. I bet I'd be tempted to stay put at AKL if we were staying there first!

:wave2: JAMBO Laura!

HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME!!!

My husband said the nicest thing to me today. Let's go back to the AKL!

We have just been back a few weeks from AKL and yesterday I said to my daughter..."let's go again in August!"...such fun!

1970 - Disneyland
1999 - All Stars Music
2003 - Port Orleans Riverside
2004 - Contemporary
2005 (July) - Animal Kingdom Lodge/Polynesian
2005 (August/Sept) - Animal Kingdom Lodge

I think DH really just wants to park himself outside Boma and eat, eat, eat! Walking into the lobby and taking a big whiff and just drinking in the wonderful smells!

So glad you had a good time... we'll be staying 2 nights just before the DVC member cruise in September! :Pinkbounc

Does anyone know if there's someplace I can go online to see AKL's schedule of events i.e. stories by the fire, lobby tour, nighttime animal viewing...

thanks so much!

Does anyone know whether there is a possibility of getting connecting rooms with both having the Queen/Bunk combination? I had asked several months ago when we first booked our trip and was told no. Recently I read on another board that the person had this combination, at least that's what they said, but they may have meant adjoining. Just thought it would be worth checking again with all you "experts"

Thanks

I am thinking about booking CL over Thanksgiving, but would be LIVID if I paid that much money and did not get a Savannah view. I know most of the concierge rooms have them, but I can't imagine people would request a pool view for that kind of $. Anyone gotten a pool view at CL??

Thanks!

I was worried about the same thing when we stayed at AKL the first time. I made sure to talk to IPO staff about our room. The staff told me unless we were smokers or requested a smoking room we would not be placed at a pool view. Pool view are the concierge smoking rooms from what they said. We requested a main sanvannah, fifth floor, non-smoking room with a king size bed. We got it! :Pinkbounc It was a perfect room :cloud9: I did not know how very lucky we were until I returned and learned that they have very limited King bed rooms. The best way to make a request IMHO is request what is the most important item you want first. The more items you add in the request the harder it may be for them to fulfill all of your requests. As I said we were very lucky.

It may help to set your mind at ease to know the concierge rooms are some of the best views in the entire resort. I believe they have one, one-bedroom suite that IPO feels should not be a suite as the view is restricted. IPO really tries very hard to please their guests.

I am sure you will be very happy with AKL Conciege.
