They have them out at the public viewing areas. I'm guessing that if they're as expensive as kimmar067 says they are, they must be attached to something.

They have them available at certain spots (we found them near the pool) .
A cast member is there to hand them out and take them back and answer your questions. He/she only has a few available at a time.

.....during our 2nd visit to AKL, we ventured outside to where they are located. The CM [at the time] told us that they are $3,500. He also explained about some of the technical things about them which made them expensive but I don't remember why....

We will be staying in Kidani Village, and will be adding the dining plan.
Because the Mara is located at Jambo House, is there somewhere inside Kidani where we can fill up and/or purchase our mugs that are included in our dining plan?
Or will we be limited to filling up at the Jambo House food court only?

There are two refill stations at Kidani....one at Johari Treasures, the other at the Pool, on the right side of the Maji, pool bar.

That's awesome! We are hoping for something similar next week....can you let us know how the lobby floor refinishing job is going and how the weather is? This time of year can be so hard to pack for.

We have been here since Wednesday night and they still have the same big section of the floor blocked off. I haven't seen anyone working in the area, but it is blocked off. It's the section next to the checkin counter as you head to walk down Kudu Trail.

Depending on where you're coming from, I have worn jeans and shorts on the trip. Friday was near 80 but Saturday was very windy, which cooled everything down and I wore jeans all day. It looks like the forecast is calling for sun everyday with a high anywhere from 60-70 over the next couple days, so you'll need a bit o everything!

I figured since this is the AKL thread this would be a great place to post a request.

So, im going to surprise the wife for her birthday with the trip to Disney in the fall. She has always wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom and I have finally made that happen. I booked us the Jambo House Villa with a Savannah View. So now what I need are some pics from the Jambo House. Some Savannah views, entrance views, anything that is related to the Jambo House that I could use to make a collage. Thanks everyone!

how do you get use of the goggles? are they in the room, do you have to go to the front desk, are they attached to something somewhere and can't be removed?

Follow the signs to the viewing spot, its behind the pool area and the goggles are available for everyone. They are fantastic. I am hoping to find the brand name so I can get a pair for our cottage near home. It was so much fun and there were so many animals to see, I was surprised.
