Disney's ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE Information & Questions

I have never been to AKL. We are coming in May (me, husband, 3 young sons), and I am currently booked at a Cabin in Fort Wilderness. I am on the fence about switching to a 1 bedroom savannah view. I have done lots of research before booking FW cabins and don't know much about AKL except it is very pretty and the pool has a waterslide. I have tried to find a good AKL podcast that really walks you through the offerings. Can anyone suggest one for me or tell me what AKL has to offer boys ages 13, 11 and 8? I know the kids would love the cabins smores with Chip and Dale, beach, horseback rides, golf carting around, Hoop de Doo. THANKS

Well, in my world it's time to pack. In 48 hours I should be deplanning at MCO, catching the mini monorail (aka terminal shuttle) and hoofing it to DME hoping to make it to Boma in time for my ADR

We are staying in WDW for 2 nights prior to our Disney Cruise in October. We are considering renting DVC points and staying at AKLV. I am trying to get some info on the Value Studios, anything anyone can tell me would be much appreciated!

As of right now of the 31 days of October only 11 days scattered throughout the month have value studios available - it's a popular option as it costs so few points. They sleep 4 and are 3' shorter than other AKV Jambo studios. They are located on Giraffe & Ostrich trails at the front of Jambo. The view is luck of the draw and may be Sunset savanna, pool or parking lot.

Well, extended my jan 13-16 trip by a day! WL CL where we were staying is booked, so we added the night of the 16th at AKL in a standard. Last time I had a standard I had one of those not so great but totally amazing for me savannah-ish views, and I am fingers crossed for another! If not, lots of observation deck time which is good too. I will be traveling with my Grandmother. Did the same requests as last time.

We just took advantage of the spring discount and switched from AoA standard to AKL. Second time traveling to WDW and first time at AKL. Any tips? We will be there from May 23-30. Very excited!

I just changed our April 2015 reservations from Pop Century to Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! We are so excited!! This will be our first visit to AKL. We will be there April 11-19. Yippee!!!!
