Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

Thank you for the replies. Surf's up buildings are very cool looking as well ;) I guess if we don't get the King bed we requested, DH & I can push the doubles together. Actually, that may even be better!

I finally made it through reading this thread. Quite a lot of great info! I'm so excited just to get back to WDW but this resort sounds like fun! :)

:grouphug:Got my reservation Monday morning. Booked my grand gathering at ASSP for October 3-10, 2009 with free dining!!!!! I am soooo excited and can't wait for my boys to enjoy the resort. I have requested the touchdown building, as I didn't pay for a preferred room but want something relatively close to the main area. I know it is not guaranteed I will get that building, but doesn't hurt to try. I would actually rather stay in the baseball building, but it is in the far back and I am not sure how far the walk is. Happy planning everyone!

Baseball is really not far at all from the main building/food court.
I thought that all of the buildings had a short walk to the main building/food court.

We were there last September and found that the ASSP was really nice. We stayed at the (Visitors) baseball building and yes, it was a little distanced from the main building, moreover that, at the time of our visit, there was a remodelation that closed (temporarily) the path between the food court and the lobby and/or the buses (blue line) so we had to follow a longer path in order to get to the lobby (green line, about 0.25 miles!).

I did not worry too much about the distance. My only problem was that, after a long day at the parks (think evening EMH, about 1AM), sometimes our 6-year old DD had to be carried asleep from the bus stop back to our room, and then every yard was really felt!! (orange line)

Some posters have commented that the rooms at the back of the No. 10 Touchdown building can be a little noisy, as they are near of the trucks loading area for the Resort (red circle).

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Luis

ok so this may be a little off the wall, but id like for us to be in Touchdown section, in one of the rooms closest to the food court, pool, etc...Does anyone have any idea which ROOM numbers these would be...or how the numbers run? I want to be as specific as possible when I call in my room requests later...Thanks

Yep, here's the link to WillCAD's awesome room location information:
http://willcad.org/maps/wdw/resorts/allstarroomlayoutlarge.pdf

So, using this location information and Will's great ASSp map (http://willcad.org/maps/wdw/resorts/resort_assp.jpg), you'd want somewhere in the room block of:

1st floor: 0158-0155 (Bldg 10) or 7110-7107 (Bldg 7)
2nd floor: 0258-0255 (Bldg 10) or 7210-7207 (Bldg 7)
3rd floor: 0358-0355 (Bldg 10) or 7310-7307 (Bldg 7)
** First number is building number (0 for Bldg 10), second number is floor number and the last two numbers are room numbers as per Will's info

HTH! :wizard:

Edited to add:
His information is bang-on, so no worries about that. We got a room right in the block we wanted last year (Building 6, first floor, near the main hall) - we got room #6156!

i have stayed in so many different rooms at sports and all had plusses for the room locations.

last year i stayed in 1055, touchdown 10

this room is the end room, 1st floor and nearest the food court.

i had no issues with noise even though it was on the end of the foot ball field.

i have also stayed in the back side of touchdown 10.
think it was room 1055.
the trucks in the morning or late evening never disturbed me.
it was another ideal location.

another favorite room was at the extended arm that goes perpendicular to the other leg of rooms i mentioned above.

i had the second to last room on that end near the parking lot.
it was ideal as i could walk out of the room to the sidewalk path that traveled to the front of the lobby and be able to notice if the busses were there.

We are staying at All Star Sports for the first time, and I am happy to see that so many people were pleased with their stays. I requested Touchdown or Surfs Up since there were no more preffered rooms available. Can't wait!!!

We got back from All Star Sports a few weeks ago (I'm suffering from Disney blues now :(), and we had the best time! We were in Hoops Hotel, building 3, floor 3, room 3360. It was perfect. No issues with noise - in fact, no issues with anything! We would definately go back.

All the rooms in Surf's Up are the preferred rooms.:confused3

Subbing...was at Sports in Dec & going back in August. DH wasn't with us so Aug will be his first time there.

Great info! I wasn't too excited at first about staying here but I am now :)

We requested the touchdown bldg...

Only a few more weeks!!

Please pardon the interruption.

I want to invite anyone staying at any of the All Star Resorts to join our FREE Fridge and coffee pot swap.
