Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Family Suites Information & Questions

PJStevens

I love your avatar! We just got one a couple of weeks ago. She is so tiny, but full of energy and she is wearing me out!

Wow, I'm thinking I need to change our ressie to one of the suites. What a great thread :) Now if only one is available:scared:

 We are staying at the ASMu for the first time this trip and are so excited about it. On previous trips we have stayed at POR, Pop, and ASMo....As you can tell we prefer the AS resort b/c they seem to be more kid friendly. We will be watching the boards for updates and counting down the days. !!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

All I can say is thanks for all the pictures and wonderful information (initally we had ressies at POR again, but after viewing this tread we changed !!!!)

We aren't planning to go as a family until 2009 but I just can't wait to try these out! :) What a great idea the family suite was!

This thread helped me choose the suites so here's my pics and some thoughts.

I loved the chair in our room- I watched TV in it a few times and it was comphy. I did my make up at the desk there which was nice too. It was a bit crowded when we had all the beds out but they were super easy to close and make quick space! We did have to rearrange things a bit but it worked out just fine. We were hardly in the rooms at all and when we were we were sleeping or showering.

It was nice to have the space and the kitchen was a great thing to have at a value resort! Being in preferred buildings were nice too because we were so close to the main building and the food and buses. The beds were deemed comphy by all!

I def recommend these suites!

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask or PM me!!!

Hoping that someone who has stayed in the Suites can answer this question...

We have tentatively booked a Suite for late Aug. '08 as a family of four - myself, wife, son (8), daugther (4). Although as a family of 4, we don't need the Suite, on our last vacation, we had connecting rooms at ASMo and loved having separate sleeping areas - so, we thought we would try the Suites, considering the fridge and coffee maker being included, and the layout just looks great - having the capability of a "living room" is fantastic.

The one concern we have is this...

When we had the two rooms, either my wife or I could slip out at night after the kids were asleep to grab a snack, or have a swim before the pool closed. Having the two entrances with connecting rooms ensured that the kids wouldn't wake up.

Anyway, our kids are "average" sleepers - they can be woken up, but it isn't as though they'll awaken at the slightest noice.

Has anyone been able to come and go after their kids are asleep in the living room?

I've been wondering if anyone used the window in the bedroom as an "escape hatch" - although I'm sure there would be some strange looks, and I would expect that Disney would frown upon doing that.

Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

I know there are different set ups in some of the rooms but as far as ours was concerned the door to the "bedroom" was right next to the kitchen and across from the bathroom. It was a good 3 steps to the actual "living room" area. When we opened the door it didn't bother anyone in the "living room". Hope that helped!

Thanks, although I should probably clarify my post a little more - we are wondering about how it might be possible to actually go outside and then back in after our kids have gone to bed - since the only door to the outside is in the "living room", we don't want to wake the kids.

Just as an FYI, only ONE of us would ever go outside to the food court or pool at any time after the kids are asleep! Just making that clear in case anyone thought that my wife and I would go down for a swim together and leave the kids on their own.

Well I think one of the windows was able to open from the inside but the other was just one pane and won't open. I don't know if all the suites are that way tho, you'd prob have to call and ask. You could always let the kiddies sleep in the other room for a while and send them to bed after you stay up in the living room, just a suggestion!

In the above picture of the living room, it shows the door right next to the fold out sofa. This is exactly how our suite was last year. If you leave, just hold the door as it shuts. They are pretty loud if you let them shut on their own. My kids would have woke up.

I just returned from ASMFS. We stayed there for 4 nights prior to moving to the BEach Club. We have stayed at POP before and it really wasn't for us so I was very nervous about another value property. We were 1 adult and 5 teenagers.
Well, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this property. It was quiet, peaceful and beautifully landscaped. We had no issues with noise. The bus situation was good. (It's terrible at Pop). The food court was packed at prime dining times but managable. (Pop was always over crowded)
I found the fold out beds to be less comfy than expected. Everyone says they are comfy but I still felt like I was sleeping on a fold out sofabed. But, it wasn't too bad. Totally fine for kids.

This may have been asked and overlooked in the 33 pages! But... if we book a suite - is there any way this will be allowed with free dining if it gets announced or is there definitely NO way it will be part of the free dining gimmick?

If so - this will be the answer to my problems!!!

TIA

Do you think we would fit five adults and two 3 year olds into the Family Suite? It looked as if two of fold outs would hold two each and one for one person. The 3 year olds are small anddon't take up alot of space in a bed.

wishful thinking, if I do get the code, can I use it here?

I received a 40% off postcard awhile back. Yes, the suites were included and could be discounted.

I'm pretty sure they only allow 6 in these rooms.

I was told no when I called to add the free water park and more promotion they had, since it was more than 4 people in the room, FYI.

There are 4 beds in the room, 2 of which fit 2 people. I def think they wont let you have more than 6 even if they are kids.

KatGarcia, I would try again.

We'll be statying in the suites in early May and there are 3 adults, a 6 yr old, a 4 yr old and a not quite 2 yr old.

I called twice when the May promo came out for the free MYW upgrades, and both times I was told that all of the promotions for the suites had been used up.

However, I called again last week to switch and ADR from Chef Mickey's to Teppan Edo and had the CSR check again to see if we could get the discount (no harm in asking right?). Well what do you know, he came back and said we did qualify and since we had already paid in full, they would be reimbursing us $500  !!!

Now my only issue is how to spend the money we're getting back. Good luck!

Sorry if I've missed it.. it's a lot of info to wade through.. but are there any pics of the ASMU kiddie pool?

whats the percenage of deposit you must place on a family suite? I wasnt sure if it was different?
thanks~
