Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Family Suites Information & Questions

We have this booked for October and are trying to add an extra day to our existing reservation. From the looks of the pictures, a gallon of milk will fit in the fridge o.k., is that correct? My other question is, do they have a small type of store in their lobby where we can buy milk, sodas, snacks, etc.? Or would we have to take a taxi (we are flying) to a grocery store to get these things.

Not sure about the gallon of milk fitting in the fridge. The resorts do sell 1/2 gallons of milk for about $2.99 and they have other snacks too. You might want to look at www.gardengrocer.com to order groceries. I've been happy with their service in the past. They have a $40 minimum and charge a $12 delivery fee. I get water, breakfast foods, fruit, snacks and sunscreen. On my 14 night trip in August I may order enough to get the free delivery on orders over $200.

I believe that the gift shop has cold items such as milk as well as snacks and sodas. If you are flying (which it sounds like), then I would just buy the stuff that you want or need from the gift shop instead of taking a taxi. Taking a taxi can be very expensive and what you would spend to and from the store plus snacks and sodas would most likely be equal or a little less if you purchased them on-site. I do not know this as a fact, but it just seems likely. :)

Great! Sounds like the milk situation will work out o.k. We plan on bringing snacks and breakfast items in our luggage in order to have at least one meal in our room before we head out for the day. :thumbsup2

We stayed in a ASMU Family Suite last summer and had a 1/2 gallon of milk in there with soda and water we bought from home. We drive down so it was wonderful to have the kitchenette We had breakfast everyday in the room and it really does save some money . :thumbsup2

We are booked again in the family suite and only went to WDW this summer because we could get one .:cool1: Other wise we were off to another amusement park . :rolleyes1 .

Enjoy your stay there we did .

I am so excited, we just booked ASM Family Suite with Free Dining for our trip in September.

We were originally going to stay off-site for 7 nights then go to the Poly for 5 nights.

Now we are doing the first 7 nights at the ASM and then 5 nights at the Poly.

Thanks to the Free dining offer DH agreed to staying onsite for the whole trip.

We really want to do the Deluxe and be on the monorail but can't justify it for 12 nights. This way we get the best of both worlds.

Going to have a rental car whilst at the ASM then no car for the Poly.

Anyone else got a ASM FS during FD?

Yes, we also got an ASMu FS for FD - Aug 25 - Sep 2!

They weren't easy to get from what I can tell - I've seen a number of posters who weren't able to get a FS for their FD dates.

BTW, I'm not sure you'll need the rental car for your stay at ASMu - we stayed at ASMo in '06 and found the busses were just fine - the only hassle would be if you were eating at another non-monorail resort restaurant, in which case you would have to take a bus to the TTC and switch busses, then do the same on the return trip.

If you will be mostly going to the parks and/or DTD, skip the rental. If you have maybe one or two times where you would have to do the transfer at the TTC (such as for dining at another non-monorail resort), it would likely be cheaper to take a taxi those couple of times as opposed to renting a car for a few days.

That's just my opinion though.

I got a family suite for free dining too. :)

We are a select few I guess.

Hi all, we are booked to stay in the Suites December 14-21! Were really excited to try something new! Theres great info on this thread! I just love it!!

The only question I can think of as of now is all of the bedding decor the same in all of the suites? When ever I've seen pictures its been the same but I didn't know if it differs from the calypso to the jazz bulding.

Which buildings are the family suites in? Is there a better one to request if we're looking at being close to the main building, main pool, bus pick up? Thanks in advance!

Jazz and Calypso. Calypso's closer to the front, but Jazz is right behind it. :)

I booked our first WDW trip just 2 weeks ago to stay at POFQ. It was going
to be myself, DH and DD (20 months at time of trip...sept. 7-12, '08) But
after talking with my dad he wants to come too! I'm TOTALLY excited about
this but he needs to have his OWN space due to HEAVY snoring or his insomnia. I stumbled across the ASMus resort FS and LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
It's 11pm at night and can't talk to a cast memeber til tomorrow. Anyone
know how difficult it is to get a FS at ASMus with free dining? :sad2:

Hi there - wer're already booked into the FS for an Aug. 25th to Sep. 2nd stay - and while it seems very difficult to get a FS for the first week of FD, there still seems to be availability in September.

Actually, I just went to Disney's main WDW website where they have the link for the Free Dining offer and then clicked the "Book Now" links from the promo page. Plugging in your dates and selecting ASMu as the preferred resort, all three room categories came up - Standard, Preferred AND FAMILY SUITE.

I would give them a call to change your reservation - I can't see any difficulty in doing so.

Personally, I'll admit I'm still a little surprised by Family Suite availability for Free Dining - I guess it just shows that (at least for some resorts/room types) all the fears that everything would be booked or initially excluded by Disney were thankfully unwarranted.

Enjoy the trip!
