Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Family Suites Information & Questions

OK, I have 2 questions, which have probably already been answered, but I can't find them.

1. I know they built at least one alternate floor plan, because it is pictured on allearsnet.com as the floorplan. I'm talking about the one with 2 armchairs and a little half wall in the living room. Does it still exist and can you stay in it?

2. Are there King rooms anywhere near the suites? DMIL and DFIL will be joining us and we got them a King room, (our reservations are linked) is there any chance they will actually be next door or at least nearby?

TIA!! :goodvibes

I know there are King rooms next to at least one of the family suites. We stayed in a King room last year and right next to us was a family suite. It was in Calypso building on the right when come out of main building. It was on the third floor. The king room number was 1562.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if you can request what building you want to be in prior to arrival or will they only grant it to you once you check in?

Room assignments are made a few days before arrival so your requests should be noted on your reservation. If you made the reservation yourself just call Disney and add them to your reservation. If you booked through a travel agent they have to make sure it is noted.

Thanks! I plan on calling Disney direct today!

I'm wondering if the cast members discount is 50% here like at the other resorts. We have stayed in a FW cabin with the help of my sister the cast member! I'll have to give her a call......I want to stay here :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

We're thinking about the suites at the All Star Music next October and am a little anxious because we usually stay in deluxe .. but times are changing. I need re-assurance - can anyone help? Also I can't find a map with smoking areas and that's a biggy with my husband - can anyone help me with that?:smokin:
Thanks for any help.

We are a family of 5 and well there is just no money for the deluxe resorts we use to stay in the POR but then when the suites opened we went for it last summer . WE are very happy with them and trust me it is hard to please me. WE stay at at the HRH in USF and I compare every vacation to that place . It is very nice at the ASMUFS we have two full bathrooms and the resort is full with kids which is great to keep the little ones busy in the pool . There is no need for a slide if the kids get involved in the activites we played bingo , hula hooped , played disney trivia , they danced with the DJ and every night there was a dive in movie by the pool . We don't smoke so I can't tell you where the smoking areas are but I would not turn down a suite at the ASMU . We are going back to the suites this summer as well as a visit to USF . :cool1: :goodvibes Can't wait :thumbsup2

From the sticky thread: WDW Resorts Smoke Free/ With Maps at the top of this (the resorts) page:

AND .. the links to the maps of each resort showing the Designated Smoking Areas (DSAs) at that resort.

The designated smoking area at ASMu is at the end of the guitar pool, next to the laundry room/restrooms, near the back entrance to the Melody Hall.

Just back yesterday from a week in an ASMu Family Suite. We LOVED it! I would do it again in a second. I'd love to stay deluxe sometime, but right now with two small kids, this was great. The entire resort was spotless and mousekeeping was terrific! I'd be happy to try to answer any questions that anyone might have!

Glad to hear you had a nice time, Lisa! Where was your suite? Did you face the pool? Did you notice if the games and activities were still going on by the pool?

We were in calypso on the side away from the pool. It was perfect because we were very close to everything, but away from the noise on the pool side. They had activities by the pool everyday beginning at 2:00pm and then a movie every night at 9:00pm. My kids loved it! They were just as happy, if not happier at times!, by the pool rather than at one of the parks.

Lisa do you know what room number you had by any chance? We stayed last summer in a room on the third floor in one of those buildings away from the pool and would love to stay away from the pool again .:thumbsup2 I would love to try to request that again . Thanks We are heading down in July back to a suite now I don't want to even try anywhere else . ::yes:: We loved it that much  .

We are thinking about trying the Family Suite when we go April2-12,2009. We have stayed previously at CSR and POR which are both very quiet to us. How quiet are the rooms and can you hear the people in the next room. Also how is the food court?
:earsgirl: :earsboy: princess: princess:

We were in room #1416. It was in the first building on the right as you exit Melody Hall.

The rooms are very quiet. Occaisionally, I would faintly hear a toilet flush either above us or next door, I'm not sure which. When you are in the bathroom, you can sometimes hear water running in the bathroom next door. It was never enough to bother us. If you were on the pool side of the building, I'm pretty sure you would be able to hear the noise from the pool in your room. The music they played was pretty loud.

Forgot to answer the question about the food court! The options are good, but it's anything but fast! That makes the food better though because it's made to order. The pasteries at breakfast are wonderful! The taco salads and quesadillas at lunch are very good, too! Overall, the food was great, the CMs were very nice and helpful with questions about the dining plan. My only complaint was that it really did take a long time to get your food sometimes, but that wasn't due to bad service or anything--that's just how it is!

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but this is a very long thread! Can you fit a gallon of milk in the refrigerator?
