Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Have they indicated anywhere how long you have to CANCEL a reservation? Is there a penalty at some point? Do you think it will be like the Flex where there’s action as people cancel/grab those spots?

(I assume EVENTUALLY it will be that way; I’m wondering about upfront...)

Curious about what happens if, say, May 1 suddenly shows torrential downpours all day. Can people holding May 1 cancel their reservations, opening them up for people willing to brave the rain?

I wonder this too. What if I can get one. day, but not the other? Do you reserve multiple days at once, or they one at a time?

Just want to say good luck to all of your who are making reservations tomorrow. I hope it all goes smoothly and you get he dates you want.

I will be checking this thread throughout the day to get a feel of what Thursday will be like. I'm really nervous about it.
Thanks! Pretty stressed myself tonight. I’ll update as I can about the experience!

According to Get Away Today, for multi day tickets, we have to repeat the process and make a separate reservation for each day of our ticket.

I'm not even able to do anything tomorrow except watch and offer emotional support (and maybe a bit of technical support potentially lol) for those able to make reservations tomorrow, but I'm feeling anxious :rotfl:

I blame the fact we know from experience these things do not always go smoothly. Getting ToD tickets was a mess for so many. I hope Disney proves they learned and upped their game after that experience.

May the Force be with you, friends.

With WDW Park Passes, you can cancel anytime before scanning into the Park...including same day. They have stated that flexibility is key in conjunction with health & safety plan. I don't think they would lock people into reservations.

No show might be another issue though.

So is it a smart idea to go ahead and buy tickets now, even if they days you want are not until July or December? I mean will there infinite number of tickets or will they have to halt tickets sells?

I am thinking about this question too. I need tickets for July and November to coincide with reservations that I have at VGC. And I also want a 1-2 day ticket to go in May. I plan to get May and July on Thursday and maybe wait a month or so and then get November (don't want it all on 1 credit card statement). But then I second guess myself and think maybe wait a little longer for November in the hopes of memberships being announced. Ugh - So I am just pondering...

And good luck to all going for reservations today! May the force be with you. I will be checking the other thread throughout the day!

Is there any indication that they open up those spots for other people, then?

Basically, I’m wondering if this works like the Flex, where we might see reservations pop up on previously full days... or if it’s like Touch of Disney - they sell, they’re gone, end of story.

Yes, the Park Passes at WDW are very fluid and days come and go. The vloggers there report grabbing Park Passes the day before and same day. Disney also adjusts the "pools" and availability.

Update from this morning as the system opened up for people with tickets:
The official Park Pass confirmation page for DLR says that reservations need to be cancelled by 11:59 PM the day before. And they state it's to allow more guests to use them:

Need to cancel?
If your travel plans change, please cancel as soon as possible to give other Guests the opportunity to visit the park. Theme park reservations can be cancelled until 11:59 PM on the day prior to your scheduled visit.

Wonderful, thank you for the info!

Just because this is the Speculation page and this is random.

I tinkered with the Availability Calendar link (adding "resort" as a segment):
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/av...gments=ticket,ph,resort&defaultSegment=ticket

And a Disney Hotel Guests button popped up as an option.

It doesn't work properly, but it suggests that they coded the possibility. (The other WDW "segments" don't work.) Maybe they've at least considered a Hotel bucket for park reservations.

(Could just be an error, but I thought it was interesting.)

Very interesting. I'm sure they are holding back some for Grand Californian guests

Out-of-staters are not blocked (by technology, I mean) from making park reservations--there is, however, as others indicated there would be, an attestation at the end of the transaction indicating all members of the party are CA residents and a statement that. Do with that what you will....and have a terrific day, everyone.

We already confirmed that out of staters can buy tickets too, right?

Honestly, I'm hoping when it gets closer to that June 15th date and they get the "A-ok" from Newsom we'll get a heads up as soon as they can give it. And maybe that would coincide with opening up the other two DLR hotels? And with more capacity? And more open restaurants? Give us all the things! Remember: once the tiers go so does those restaurant capacity limits although I'm sure Disneyland will have their own limits like WDW does.

If we were to aim for late July, I'd be hoping to make a park reservation by late May. :scared:

Can you buy tickets BUT Not make a reservation? My dates are not up yet and will the calendar open up one day at a time now?

Yes buying tickets and then making reservations are different steps. And, I would absolutely buy tickets ahead of time and link them to your account. Then you are ready to make reservations when your dates roll around.

If they're opening up one day at a time, my dates will come up in a few days. But I don't think we know, yet, how they're rolling out reservations. I guess we'll find out tomorrow if they open up 6/29.

They won't open up June 29 tomorrow. That will open up after April 30. They are going 60 days out, but since the parks don't open until April 30, 60 days from then is June 28. May 1 should open up June 29.
