Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Oh, and for those freaking out.....YES, your linked tickets show up when you get to the "make a park reservation" page. All good!
Mine did not. I got in on my computer and it kept directing me to link tickets - like I didn't have any. I was freaking out as I saw others post they got their reservations. Luckily someone posted to try in the app. That worked for me. Took me right to the login page and I was able to secure my dates. This happened to a few others as well.

Just because this is the Speculation page and this is random.

I tinkered with the Availability Calendar link (adding "resort" as a segment):
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/av...gments=ticket,ph,resort&defaultSegment=ticket

And a Disney Hotel Guests button popped up as an option.

It doesn't work properly, but it suggests that they coded the possibility. (The other WDW "segments" don't work.) Maybe they've at least considered a Hotel bucket for park reservations.

(Could just be an error, but I thought it was interesting.)
Nah, not an error, DLR just hasn't committed bucket space for it. They clearly have some plans they added the resort reservation functionality to the website and in the actual scheduling instructions; so it's in the plans -- just not implemented. :(

Great find! That is new as of today. I looked for it this morning before 8 and it wasn't there.

I scrolled back a bit but didn't find exactly what I was looking for... if someone could point me in the right direction.

I am out of state, but am considering buying Multi Day tickets (Through UCT- they were so good to me when I had to cancel a bunch of things) for potential use this fall sometime.

Do I have these steps right (for now, as far as we know):

  • Buy the park tickets
  • Wait for out of state people to be allowed in
  • Make park reservations once my reservation date(s) are open on the calendar?

I did visit WDW last fall so I sort of went through the process but I feel like the demand will be FAR greater for DL than it ever was for WDW. With my WDW tickets I didn't even worry a bit about not getting in!

Your steps are correct at this point.

It’s impossible to guess what demand will look like by the fall. I imagine that a lot rides on when new membership programs come out and what they look like.

Thank you!

And ooh that's true... I had forgotten about "membership" even though I am a so-called Legacy Passholder. Right now my 14 year old just misses DL terribly, and he hasn't had an AP recently. Any trip this fall would be mostly for him and I'd be OK buying regular tickets for this trip.

Sorry, I feel like this is a random question compared to the previous ones, but I am curious how we make ROTR boarding groups now? Like before you could go to the kiosks at rope drop or through the app. Will it only be through the app this tike? I can't find this information anywhere

They haven't said for sure, but I'd be surprised if they use the kiosks. The wording of Disney's post implies that the first attempt will be possible from outside the park. I'm not even sure how you'd use the kiosks for, say, a 2pm attempt - as quickly as they'll go, only like three people would be able to get groups before they run out.

They have not released the specifics yet. But it sounds to me that it will be super similar to what they do in WDW. The first “window” opens up at 7AM. Before park opening. You DO NOT need to be in Hollywood Studios or even the resort to try to get a boarding group. The second “window” is at 1PM. You have to be scanned into Hollywood studios to try for the second boarding group. (You also still cannot ride more than once a day). Not sure if there are kiosks there to help you while you are in the parks (I would guess there are because not everyone has a smart phone). The reason they do the second group at 1PM is because at 2PM they allow park hopping. I’m guessing Disneyland will be very similar. So maybe one window before park opening and one around noon? Since you can hop at DL at 1PM?

Hope that made sense! Lol.

Actually - Disney said in their post that the afternoon opportunity at DL is also available for people who start their day at DCA and parkhop. (The morning one is just for folks with DL reservations.) So it could be whenever, but 1pm or 2pm feels likely.

(EDIT: adding the word "also" to make it clear that it's not just for DCA parkhoppers - it's also for regular DL guests.)

The second group is for either those who started at DL or DCA (just clarifying for anybody reading along)

It sounds to me like the second group is only for people with Park Hoppers. So people with one-day one-park passes in DL can’t try for the second group if they didn’t get in with the first?
No. There’s a comma after Disneyland park - so it’s guests must have entered Disneyland park - OR California Adventure with a parkhopper.

No, I read it as people who are park hopping from DCA only have the afternoon possibility. Those who started in DL can try both, regardless of ticket (meaning if they missed the first, they can try for the second). But I guess we’ll have to see how it plays out.

Does anyone have thoughts if Grand Californian will have discounted rates when reservations go online tomorrow? Right now I'm booked at BW Park Place for my early June trip but I am going to check tomorrow and see what the rates are for June, but I'm also going to book my October and December trips. I also wonder if they will be offering packages with tickets now or if I'll have to wait until June 15th since I live in WA.
