Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

Yes. Are you staying on site? If so you can call wdw ap services and they will make your park pass reservations for you.

Oh that is good to know. Yes, I am using my DVC points. I will give them a call. Plus, I might as well renew to a DVC Gold AP so I have something for my September/October WDW 50th Anniversary trip.

No email for me. As per normal. When my pass "expired", I stopped getting the emails. I will find the phone to WDW pass holder services and give them a call.
My pass expired and I got the email. Which is odd because they stopped at one point.

I haven't received AP emails since mine expired over the summer, but just received the email too.

Cant even remember the last time I bought daily-use tickets. I hope these new memberships are AP's-by-another-name because single use tickets are crazy expensive o_O We still had about 50 days left on our sig+'s so the fact that getting ~$200 back for each one may not even be enough for one day is quite the perspective!

I want to cry so much right now. I'm also unsure if I'll get any refund as I had a large down payment plus a few additional monthly payments on top of that and that was the concern in the beginning to take the extension rather than the refund. I know the language sounds like those in my position will get a refund for the excess amount, but I foresee needing to call about this.

I'm not getting back to Disney for a long time now I guess  . I don't go without an AP.

Could they have at least thrown us a bone and let us use the discount online like they did WDW APs?

I'm not okay. I'm devastated. This is what's been giving me hope all these months is looking forward to going back eventually.

I'm guessing this must have been a sore subject and this gave them the perfect opportunity to fine-tune things.

We are very selective with the dates we choose to avoid large crowds. A 10 out of 10 park traffic day is straight up a miserable experience. This probably never happens if they opened back in July. Oh well, I look forward to a new and improved experience that I have no problem paying for.

Hrm... Disappointed but not surprised. Wondering how I will get notified/get refunded for DD15's pass... (she was the only one of us who still had an active pass...with about 2.5months left on it...last March)

i think these passes will return, eventually...there’s just too much money for Disney to leave it all on the table. I just hope whatever reservation system they put into place will not be so onerous that even a moderately spontaneous visit will be impossible to book :/

That does not help me right now and seeing all the comments glad for this from the anti-AP crowd that blame APs because they don't realize many of us are not local and pay a significant amount to go is just making me more upset. Many APs spend an obscene amount at the parks local or not too.

Disney has said a form of it will return. We know this. But my hope in the right now has been taken away. Please be respectful of that.

Agreed. I'm feeling so bummed right now. I travel from lots of states away and just am feeling devastated.

I wish others would show a little more compassion instead of celebrating. Worst part is I think they do think they're helping, but they're just rubbing salt in the wound. My list of people I have ignored may grow significantly in the next few days.

I just tried to send in feedback about it and got an auto response that those who normally check those messages are unavailable (office is closed). Didn't even say anyone would look at it later when they reopen :sad1:

Don’t be too upset, they are just jelly. I know we as AP holders spend embarrassing amounts of money in the park. It’s quite a sad day. :( hopefully things get better. We went to DW in October was magical, can’t wait for the that feeling without a flight.

I dunno - this could be a silver lining for a lot of people. I was an AP holder for a couple of years. We renewed right before Carsland opened, then never again after that. The reason? The price had really gone up becuase DL was trying to bring the # of APs down, but more than that, it got to be a forced march. We had to go I think 8 days over the year to make it "pay off". As life got busier outside the berm, it got to the point where we'd have a free Sunday and then we would HAVE TO GO so we could get enough days on the pass. We didn't necessarily want to - we had to. Sometimes just for a couple of hours, and almost always with real life pulling us back out of the park. We had fun once at the park, but it really tied us down. What's more, I don't think we were really getting the value out of the AP that it might seem if you just looked at the # of days we used it. Now we go to WDW once a year on a "real vacation" and DL on occasion when we really want to, and spend the whole day. We are spending less overall and enjoying it more. I think a lot of current AP's will discover the same thing.

Rest assured, the % of APs in DL is HUGE! An AP of some sort will be back - you can count on that.

I'm right there with you, my day and mood have gotten pretty sour since the announcement. To me it really feels like I "lost" Disneyland and that makes it hard to be optimistic about the future of the parks. The only thing I'm hopeful for is that the shock will wear off and won't taint the memories of such a happy place.
