Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

When I saw this article I was wondering if there was an expectation of how long the super-sites would be open since that might affect the reopening of the hotels/Land. Given that this says the goal is to have the entire OC vaccinated by the 4th of July ... this site could be open a long time! I wonder if that would preclude a full opening of DLR while it is being used as a vaccination super-site.
It’s going to be in the Toy Story lot, which would probably be empty throughout the year anyways since I don’t see the parks hitting capacity in 2021.

Reminder to everyone participating in this thread: Please keep your posts on topic when discussing the vaccine, i.e. related to DLR and the parks' reopening. Any discussion focused on COVID, the vaccine, public health policy, etc. should go in the main Community Board. Thank you.
Now, back to the show!

My parents are getting their vaccinations there on Saturday if anyone wants any first hand update of the experience getting the vaccine there. I will be taking them because it is scary having either of them drive!
Yes! Update, please! :) Hope everything goes well and that your parents have minimal discomfort.

Will do! I am just happy, relieved, and many other other adjectives to get them their appointments. The OC website/app stink and I have been working on this for 2 days and it is very confusing. No way the average senior would be able to figure it out on their own. My parents are both pretty tech ok for their ages, but they would not have figured it out. Facebook and the OCHealth group helped me (and many others) to figure it out.

My DVC reservation at GCH for 1/29 to 2/3 was cancelled this morning. Looks like you can still book 2/5 and beyond so seems like they moved to a 2 week rolling cancellation window as tomorrow would've been 14 days out for me.

Welcome to the 2020 world for most Disney World Vacations usually happened on Fridays

I have an idea for DL - while they are doing the vaccines in the parking lot, they can put up a churro cart, a popcorn cart, a coffee cart and anything else that can be sold from a drive up cart. :smooth:

Highly doubtful. They want to get people in and out. They don't want delays or people hanging around for a churro or popcorn. The whole purpose for this Super-Pod is to get people vaccinated, not to sell food items. Anybody who wants that, can drive a couple of blocks to Downtown Disney.

Ugh - hate OC Register and their links. Never lets me read anything. Regular or incognito. All I got was the headline. Wonder what it means for Premier Passholders like me where it is bi-coastal. Guess I should call Passholder services at WDW and renew to a WDW only pass so I have tickets for March.

Edit: premier passes will be valid at WDW through 3/31.

I got my vaccine this morning (not at Disneyland.... bummer!). Teachers in AZ are in the second group. So far, no issues at all!

I literally just predicted they would need to do this with the APs a few days ago up thread. It’s a bummer I was right, but it really seems like that’s the best option right now. Someone said locals will laugh at the idea of buying tickets like the rest of us....so now we’ll see I guess.

Interesting. What if my pass expired only like 2 weeks into the closure? Do you think I will get the 3/31 date too? The app still shows an expiration of 2/6 which is what it has been at for over a month now. I am going to WDW 3/5 - 3/12, so I would really like to make park reservations for my dates.

Yes. Are you staying on site? If so you can call wdw ap services and they will make your park pass reservations for you.
