Bummer.
Tell me what you think....my oldest is 13 and her friend is almost 14, very responsible teens.....I am thinking about allowing them some park time sans parents and having them check in every hour via cell phone. Gabby has earned my trust and has great follow through. What do you think?

I think that if they are responsible teens and have the cell phone connection they should be okay. When I was a teenager I used to wander off by myself, now I am not so sure I would want them too. As a pair or a group I think that a couple of hours of exploring sans parents should be cool.
My son has been going to DL since he was 2 1/2 and knows the parks inside and out. I started letting him and a friend go off for short periods of time when he was 11. He always had a cell phone and checked in and we had a meeting place and time. He is very responsible and it sounds like your DD is too so I would say yes. Do as much as you feel comfortable with and she will most likely start to earn more time away.
It's hard when they grow up but exciting too.
I remember the first time my son and his BFF got some tween time, his mother and I looked at each other and realized that they were growing wings!
I haven't seen anything on the cabanas but like you said, I would expect them to be about the same as Vegas, maybe $300 or so?
I called because we are considering renting a cabana for 1/2 day for our June trip and this is the offical info:
Cabanas have seating for 6, a flat screen TV, small fridge stocked with 6 bottled waters, complimentary basket of fruit. They are $185 for a full day which is 9 - 6 or $110 for a half day, either 9:30 - 1 or 2 - 6. Full days can be reserved one month in advance and 1/2 days can be reserved 2 weeks in advance.
If it weren't for you, I would mostly be talking with myself.

I am sure you have been reading the whole WoC newest announcements....what the heck?Staging people for 90 minutes, after the park closes, for an 11:30 show?
