Aww, thanks for the wonderful thoughts and pixie dust!!! I will absolutely be there for the next "Ladies Only"!

Hope you all have a wonderful time!! :flower3:
Thanks and I hope you pop back in afterwards to let us know how you and the kids enjoyed the trip!

So I had a really bad craving for cake after class tonight, so I went to pavilions and bought a slice of cake and a carton of milk.

There is nothing like Disneyland dessert:sad2: , I'll just have to wait until next week to enjoy it!
Yeah, I'm trying to be good now so I can splurge at DL in June. Everything just tastes better at Disney.

Its almost time!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Im so excited!! Dh is a little less excited though..:rolleyes1 I think he is afraid he will forget to feed the kids or something!:lmao: :lmao:
:rotfl2: I bet he calls you a million times a day while your gone. That's good! They should miss us now and then. Makes them appreciate us more! ;)

Good morning everyone!:woohoo:

I'm having a few second thoughts about staying at POP when we go to WDW. The reason being because.......well, do you know the show "Everybody Loves Raymond"? Yeah, well, we're taking Marie with us. You know, Ray's mom.....Debra's mother-in-law. Except it's Justin's mom, my mother-in-law, and her name is Patricia, but other than that, they are one-in-the-same person. Oh boy, not sure what to expect here. I'm trying to visualize how this episode would play out.popcorn:: :scared:
Yikes. My sympathies for you. :rotfl: But I still think you should go with POP if for no other reason then to report back to us all the craziness that went on as a result! :rolleyes1

J/K Good luck!

I've never done a TR, but I do want to do one for this trip. Plus I'll have Flower the Croc so I'll have to do some kind of TR to report on her adventures
Cool! I can't wait to read it.

Thanks Steph! Feeling much better today (so far) :goodvibes
You had some drinks didn't ya? :rolleyes1 ;)

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!!!

Just think, one week from tomorrow you will all be on your way, or already there, or packing to leave the next day!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Finally! After months of waiting.

Everyone make sure you've got your cameras with you. I want pics! ;)

Hee hee, that actually would make a great trip report!:lmao: Hmmmmm, now you've got me thinking......my naughty side is starting rear it's ugly head. Maybe this could actually be amusing. Mmwhaahahahaha

Weren't you originally staying at AKL with a discount code?? Did you change to POP so you could add the dining plan?

We had the DDP w/our package at AKL too, but we're switching to POP strictly because of budget reasons.:sad2: The cost of gas and food is really taking a huge chunk out of our income these days. Much, much more than I had anticipated in January when I made our reservations at AKL. Since DH is a self-employed real estate appraiser, he does tons of driving, and our gas bill has doubled since this time last year. (Along with our grocery bill, ouch!)

We still have our ressies at AKL. I haven't cancelled them yet, because, well it's going to be difficult to do, ya know what I mean? It's going to have to be a s l o w process to let those ressies go (even though I know it must be done).:goodvibes It is our kids first trip to WDW, and my MIL's and BIL's first trip to WDW, and a first time for all of us to go on a trip together, and so we wanted to splurge and stay in a really nice resort to make it more special for everyone, since it was a special trip. But we're (DH and I) just aren't going to be able to afford it, especially with Christmas coming up right after our trip.

The part that I feel bad about is that my MIL and BIL can afford to stay at the AKL. It's DH and I who can't, and since they want to stay in the same resort as us, they have to downgrade because of us. But it's better than having to cancel the trip completely, so I guess they'll have to deal with it if they want to stay at the same resort. Oh well, I think it'll still be a great time. At least for DH, myself, and the kids.:thumbsup2

Capri, what about a compromise? Maybe pick one of the moderate resorts? OR would your in-laws be willing to pay for some of the difference for you to stay at AKL as an early Christmas present? :confused3

If not, and you still end up at POP, I still think it will be fine. The last time I went on vacation, I didn't spend much time at the hotel at all. I never really do. So while I love looking at nice, fancy resorts, I almost always end up someplace cheaper simply because I know I won't be around enough to enjoy it, kwim?

We stayed at AKL in 06, and then ASMo in 07. The value resorts certainly aren't as nice as the deluxe resorts, but we still had a fantastic time! We really didn't spend that much time at the hotel, and could still go wherever we wanted on Disney property (like Boma and Jiko. YUM!) We also found out that we really liked the convenience and selection of the food court. You're absolutely right about it being better than having to cancel! Hopefully your MIL and BIL will understand that the trip is really about spending time together, not just spending money. :grouphug:

Unless we could apply our 40% off code to a moderate, it wouldn't be enough of a savings for us to do that. I've called and called to switch to a different resort, using our 40% off code, but they just don't have anymore rooms left that qualify for the code. I even called to see if we could use it at POP, but they don't have anymore rooms left that qualify for the code either.

A 20% AAA discount at a moderate resort would only save is a little over $120 from what we're spending on our room at AKL with the 40% off code, so instead, we went for the 20% AAA discount at a value, which saves us about $544.

But you're right, we most likely won't be at the resort much anyway. We'll have tons to do and see and eat, I'm not sure how we're going to fit it all in in 7 days.

UGH!!!! I really need to stop obsessing over whether or not to do a character meal in June when we take our family trip to DL. It's making me nuts!!

I said I wasn't going to do it because there was no way in heck I was going to spend around $150 for breakfast! Not when my kids are just as happy with the free, albeit small, hot buffet we get at our hotel.

Plus my DH and DS really are not into the characters. Especially my DS who is 13 and too cool for that. That's why he's rarely in the pics!

So it would be a waste of time for them. And I personally don't like the characters either. (not the costumed ones, because you don't know who's in there!!) I like pics of the kids with them, but not interacting with them personally, kwim? LOL

For those reasons, I decided it would be silly to spend that amount of money to go there. That was money that could be used better elsewhere.

And yet, I keep going back to the info on the character meals and thinking it over....... :headache: WHY???? Why can't I make a decision and stick with it????

OKay, that's it. No more. I'm not doing a character meal. It's not worth it. We have lots of things planned for that week in CA and we can do other, more fun things with that money.

Alright, decision made. If any of you hear me mentioning a character meal again, please threaten to slap me silly.
Thank you.

That's right!! It will fly by. And with so many parks and resorts to tour, who the heck wants to feel like they have to stay at their resort because they paid so much for it. :rotfl2:

You'll be leaving the room early in the morning, out all day, and by the time you do go back to your room, your eyes will be half shut already and all you'll care about is a bed. Any bed. Or even a clean floor. ;)

OKay, I figured it out. Instead of spending money on a character meal, we are going to go see a movie at the El Capitan in Hollywood and then eat next door at the Disney Soda Fountain. :thumbsup2

Sorry for my ramblings! :rotfl2: I have to keep my mind occupied so I don't dwell on the fact that a week from tomorrow I'll still be sitting home!!

I do have a lot of cell phone numbers at my disposal though. Maybe I can make some random calls..... :rolleyes1 ;)

Who's shirt am I supposed to leave at the front desk of the HOJO?

Sorry ladies, I thought I had written everything down, but I'm missing this one bit of information, and I know that I'm supposed to leave someone's shirt for them at the front desk of the HOJO for her to pick up when she checks in. So which one of you ladies was that?:confused3

(It was someone who was checking in late on Friday.)

It know it's not Katie......or Stacielee......oh shoot, who was that?!:headache:

WOW, that was entertaining popcorn:: ! You just solved your own problem without even getting our opinions  .

But, I do think going to the El Capitan & Disney Soda Fountain would be much more entertaining for your group.

I do that all the time! :lmao:

I'll call my mom up with a problem and she knows all she has to do is hold the phone and say, "uh huh. uh huh. hmm. uh huh" long enough, and I will figure it all out on my own. :rotfl2:

I was going to actually PM you today about this. I think I told you just to bring mine to Blue Bayou & I was going to change there. So could you please remember to bring mine to Blue Bayou :flower3: . I don't want to be the only one not wearing a matching shirt :upsidedow .

Okay, I think I came up with a compromise. We'll do a split stay. We'll stay our first 4 nights at POP, and then our last three nights at AKL. It might be kind of a pain to move, but it's about the only way we'll get to experience the best of both resorts (and make my MIL happier).:thumbsup2

Yep, I have you down for delivery at the Blue Bayou lunch. We're gonna look cuuuuuuute!:cutie: :goodvibes

Hey ladies! Sorry I haven't checked in a few days - I've been so busy with work and school (the semester ends next week - and then I GRADUATE)
I'm so excited for Friday and Sunday too! WHOOOOO
How's everyone doing?

Splitting your stay is a great compromise! We are thinking of doing this the next time we make it to the World, but with Pop and either the Poly or WL.
I think they make switching fairly easy, and will move your luggage for you.
