Disneyland Girls Only Trip thread

Oh, I LOVE the current line being used in one of the Disneyland ads.

It says, "Where we meet old friends for the very first time."

How cute is that! And it has a pic of a little boy meeting Mickey Mouse. :cloud9:

Sort of good for this trip too, huh? I mean by now we've all been chatting for months, so I'd say that counts as old friends. And you'll be meeting for the first time at DL! ;)

UGH!!!! I really need to stop obsessing over whether or not to do a character meal in June when we take our family trip to DL. It's making me nuts!!

I said I wasn't going to do it because there was no way in heck I was going to spend around $150 for breakfast! Not when my kids are just as happy with the free, albeit small, hot buffet we get at our hotel.

Plus my DH and DS really are not into the characters. Especially my DS who is 13 and too cool for that. That's why he's rarely in the pics!

So it would be a waste of time for them. And I personally don't like the characters either. (not the costumed ones, because you don't know who's in there!!) I like pics of the kids with them, but not interacting with them personally, kwim? LOL

For those reasons, I decided it would be silly to spend that amount of money to go there. That was money that could be used better elsewhere.

And yet, I keep going back to the info on the character meals and thinking it over....... :headache: WHY???? Why can't I make a decision and stick with it????

OKay, that's it. No more. I'm not doing a character meal. It's not worth it. We have lots of things planned for that week in CA and we can do other, more fun things with that money.

Alright, decision made. If any of you hear me mentioning a character meal again, please threaten to slap me silly.
Thank you.

LOL, I just love listening to your inner conversation! If you go to Lilo and Stitch breakfast at the Paradise Pier, not only do you get ALOT of interaction with the characters (they really carry on and are quite rambunctious!) and lots of opportunities for pics BUT... you can order off the menu! No reason to pay the $20 something for a buffet if you're happy with the $10 breakfast off the menu. And you've gotta eat ..right? Plus if you're early risers you can still get breakfast before the parks open.

Just when you thought you had your mind made up!

Well....crap. Now I'm going to have to think about it even more!! :headache:

(actually that really might be a nice compromise! Thanks. ;) )

I second that suggestion! They also have an "order off the menu" option at the Grand Californian Character Breakfast but it is considerably more pricey than the menu options at Paradise Pier. (Like $16 for a Mickey waffle.)

I have to also say--for a very nice breakfast at a reasonable price for Disney, I had breakfast recently at Steakhouse 55--got a combination plate breakfast that I couldn't finish for $10.95. No characters . . . well, except for some guy named Walter (no lie) who apparently comes in just about every day! And beautiful old pictures of stars from the 30's and 40's (Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Charlie Chaplin, Orson Welles, etc.

DANGERMOUSE!

I was just wondering if you ever got the clip art collected from your DH?

thanks!

Hey ladies! Sorry I haven't checked in a few days - I've been so busy with work and school (the semester ends next week - and then I GRADUATE)
I'm so excited for Friday and Sunday too! WHOOOOO
How's everyone doing?

I saw that you could order off the menu at the GCH, but the prices seemed high to me so I skipped it. Remember, I have to times everything we do by SIX! :rotfl2:

I honestly never even thought to check out the meal at the Paradise Pier. Don't know why. :confused3 I just was always thinking of either the Plaza Inn or Goofy's Kitchen.

But I checked out the Lilo and Stitch one and it seems good. (hopefully the menu prices at allears are current!) Plus I realized I've never even set foot into the hotel so this way we can look around someplace new.

Sooooo, I booked the Lilo and Stitch breakfast for one morning in June!! :cool1: :yay: My DH is going to be so thrilled..... :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Thanks again Chris.

Since you'll be there, you might as well take the glass elevator all the way up to the top floor (you know, just for the fun of it, even though it's kinda dorky, but we always do anyway).:goodvibes

Also, make a stop on the third floor and check out the pool and slide. I know people think the pool area here is boring, but gee, my family really likes it!:thumbsup2

OKay. The kids will probably get a kick out of the elevator, and watching mom freak since I'm scared of heights. LOL

Anyone know off hand if you have a Premium AP do you get a discount on the character meal?

We LOVE that pool. I now that my dh would much rather stay at the PP then the GCH BECAUSE of the pool. I really like that we can sit in a chair, and both of my kids can sit and play in the pool. Or go on the slide... Its lovely.

Yep! 15%:thumbsup2 We do that breakfast everytime we go.. In fact, its the first place my dd actually went up to a character. :lovestruc VERY MAGICAL! Its so laid back there, and not anywhere near as hectic as GK. I dont like crowds, it stresses me out, so this meal was perfect for us!

they took the PAP for the menu ordered items so I would assume they would for the buffet too

Exactly! That's why we love it too. It's a great set up for a family. DH and I can have a drink and relax (or go swimming and sliding too :goodvibes ) and easily keep an eye on the kids, because the kiddy pool area and slide is right there.:thumbsup2

I like the sounds of this place. Must find menu for Steakhouse 55. Maybe I will try to sneak in there on Monday when most of you are gone. I bet Lauren and Ruth can be talked into it if I want to go there. ;)

Or not. rofl

The restaurant decor sounds great. But the breakfast menu is more my style than the dinner. However, I'd be kidding myself if I think I'm going over to the DL Hotel for breakfast the day we are leaving. I'll be going to the PARKS!!!!

So if my professor doesn't count it as an absence, I might be at DL by 1:30pm instead of 3pm! I would give my ASL presentation first and then leave. I'm hoping she considers it a tardy only :wizard: That'd be magical!

Thanks! :)

Stop! Now I'm going to want to stay there. :rotfl2:

The other really cool thing about the PP is that at the same pool deck you can see "most" of the higher fireworks at DL AND they play the Julie Andrews soundtrack . . . . .
